The sweet smell of falling leaves. A crisp sensation that brought Aiden's senses alive, having him feel after the brutal heat of Summer. Not that the Whomping Willow was a frightening plant. It was like any other, you just had to make peace. First year, this very tree gave him a broken leg, two sprained ankles, and a few concussions until the beast let him rest in a crook between her roots. Naming the tree affectionately, Bertha, a suitable name for the cruel tree. Aiden didn't aspect any visitors there weren't many anyway. A few Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs, drunk being their destination. It was different for the Slytherin. The tree was a home, somewhere he could read or study without the constant attack of glances and questions. As much as the boy thrived and fed off of drama there was a time when it's enough. Cozying himself in a particularly shady spot Aiden rested his eyes dotting out the sunlight seeping through the throng of branches above him. Bertha shivered, a human like action as the wind howled by in a typical October setting.
Nikita laughed hysterically as she stumbled towards The Whomping Willow. On this particular night she had not had part of her soul being sucked out, nor was she just particularly weird that night. She was drunk. She had drink-en at least ten Firewhiskeys, and it was very surprising that she was still standing at that very moment. She had been with a couple of her friends, and one of them just happened to bring in a big keg of Firwhiskey. Another had brought many big mugs. Nikita had been acting crazy the whole time. Then she had just decided to get up and leave. She had no idea where she was gonna go, she was just gonna walk, and in the morning she would figure out where she was at. Of course she wouldn't remember a thing of it, but still. She would have a killer hangover, and a huge headache. It would be all worth it in the end though.
Nikita lost her balance, as she stumbled closer and closer to the Whomping Willow. Her foot caught a small rock, and she immediately fell to the ground, and started rolling the rest of the way to the big tree. Finally Niki stopped just at the foot of the humongous tree. She looked behind her, and saw a blurry figure. She couldn't make the person out though, but she continued laughing until she was cut off by a huge limb from the tree. It hit her square in the side, with tons of force, as it brought her up to the sky with it. She screamed, while cursing. Of course she still had no idea what-so-ever about what was happening, but oh well. She had definitely stopped laughing, as she fell back to the ground, and another limb caught her on her other side.
Another scream erupted from Nikita's mouth, as she felt the force of the mighty tree's limbs. The pain shot through her, as she continued to wonder what the hell was going on. It was as if the large tree was playing catch with her, but more rough. The tree was basically crushing her under it's strong limbs. She just continued to get smacked around, while screaming. I mean what else could she do? Nothing. She was drunk to the limit, and basically already crushed to the limit. She just hoped that the person that she had seen wasn't an enemy of hers. She actually prayed that they weren't. I mean they would probably help her unless they were some cruel hearted person. Ummm... Victoire Weasley...

Ugh... Frowning Aiden sat up watching helplessly as Nikita was thrown around a few times. "FREEZE!" Waving his wand in the air he mumbled an in comprehendible Mobiliarbus having the Whomping Willow's branches still lifting them into the sky. Smirking at his handy work Aiden jumped from his perch jogging his way toward Niki's limp body. "M'dear, you awake?" He brushed his chocolate hair back he scanned her body from simple wounds he could fix and put back into place. "Damnmit Bertha." Aiden muttered rescanning her body. "You still here sweets?"
Relief flowed through Niki, as she felt the tree freeze, as she suddenly fell to the hard ground, limp. Her eyes fluttered open as she heard the soft deep voice of her fellow Slytherin, and DE member, Aiden. She looked at him, and immediately started cracking up. I mean seriously... she was drunk. She thought everything was funny when she was drunk. She just laid there cracking up, while he fixed her wounds. She screamed softly, as she began to feel the pain shoot through her. She looked at Aiden, her eyes glazed over. "Ow." She said with no emotion what-so-ever in her voice. She began laughing again, watching Aiden curiously, and half not aware of what was happening. She smiled at him, sighing softly. she began to look at the sky, cocking her head to the side softly. "Is that a cloud?" She asked pointing to the sky numbly. She had no idea what was happening, as she looked at the sky with a blank expression on her flawless face. Oh tonight would be fun...

"Jesus Nikita. Drunk much? Figures why you didn't protect yourself. Get up." His tone was point blank, forcing Nikita, even though how much pain she was in to stand and wait as he went to go retrieve his things from the base of the Whomping Willow. "I swear, Bertha." Mumbling to himself Aiden slung his bag over one shoulder and swinging Nikita onto his other. As she stumbled forward he held her carefully leading her forward. "Dear, you have to work with me!" A scowl dawned across his face, a slightly sour frown that quickly turned into a giggle. Anyone this much out of their mind had to be crazy for even thinking about doing this to their body. Then again, it was Niki, and it was Hogwarts. These kinds of things were normal. At the first taste of firewhiskey Aiden threw never, thus never again putting the spicy liquid to his lips again. She just had to be nuts.

Ah, Autumn. One of October Claire's favorite seasons; it was time to start a new year at Hogwarts as the scenery's beauty enhanced tenfold and the air held onto that smokey, firewood scent. Tobie had just come outside to take a short walk, needing to burn off some steam from the night before. She and Avery had gotten into a fight, which was mostly her own fault, and she had avoided him all day (which was pretty hard, seeing as they shared almost all of the same classes) and now she just needed an escape.
She figured that Aiden would be outside by the Whomping Willow (Whom he had affectionately nicknamed Bertha) which was his normal haunt. Tobie understood why he chose that particular spot however; she had a hiding place of her own in the Forbidden Forest. A place where she could be herself, where she was able to cry or relax or even just rant to whatever creatures seemed to reside within the hollowed-out oak tree that day. Sometimes squirrels were her company, othertimes a variety of birds. Tobie had taken a liking to animals very early in life, and sometimes they were all she needed when human relationships seemed too tedious at the time.
Slightly crestfallen as she saw two figured near the enormous tree, she rolled her eyes when she saw Nikita, who was obviously stoned beyond her wildest daydreams. She walked over briskly, willing to assist Aiden in the hauling of her friend back up to the castle. Approaching her housemates with confidence, she smirked as she started to speak.

"This chicka needs a new hobby. She's starting to act like a Gryffindor." Scoffing Aiden relied on Tobie to help him carry Nikita back to Hogwarts. Leaning more of the weight on himself, he didn't want Tobie to have to carry the brunt of Niki's weight, he gave a smirk in Tobie's direction. " It seems we can't have one grace period in Hogwarts without having to have one of our DE Member's asses." The smile he wore faded into a frown thinking back to the summers of Tobie and himself. Rowen of course checked in every once in awhile. It was either that or him being surgically attached to October's hip. That wasn't much fun. Maybe Nikita getting smashed would allow them to have some sort of talk. Reconnect.

Tobie was trying her hardest to not drop Niki, but the energy in her muscles was slowly fading, and instead of the confidence that could have been running through her, a burning sensation was pulling on her limbs. She glanced at Aiden who was carrying most of the weight in a very gentleman-like manner. Aiden had always been polite; it was one of the reasons Tobie fancied him so. She nodded and smirked at his comment. "Agreed." she said, curious as to why his smile formed into a frown. Maybe his thoughts were wandering to where hers were.
The summers that the Hemingways and the Irvines had shared had always been memorable ones. Rowen, Tobie and Aiden had always been playing tag, duck-duck-goose, or some other mundane game that kept their spirits bright. Rowen and Ai had always managed to outrun her, always managed to climb the trees faster. She and Aiden had always been friendly rivals as children, though they grew very close together, almost like their hearts were intertwined.
"Are you sure you want to? It's kind of weird." Aiden had commented. Tobie nodded eagerly, standing on her toes to peck her friend on the lips. "There! Now we both have kissed someone." she chirped, smiling brightly. she watched Aiden roll his eyes. "So does that mean we're boyfriend and girlfriend?" he had asked. "No...I don't think so. We're just friends." she replied. "Ok...but what now?" "Tag! You're it!"
Tobie smiled lightly at the fond memory; they had just been kids...She had been seven, he had been eight. She doubted that he remembered that summer in her backyard, but she did. It had been special. Too bad the two had grown apart slightly do to the age difference.

"Nikita, needs to get off whatever the hell made her even think to get this smashed." Aiden sighed stopping to shift her higher into a more comfortable position. "Think she'll puke? You'd know better than me...." Nikita was a friend, not exactly as close as Kia, Corliss, and Tobie, but close enough. He didn't tend to remember things so personal as puking habits. All he knew was October would hopefully take care of her then. Aiden, had a few queasy moments. "Remember when I dragged you up the big oak tree in your neighborhood? The year after I came back to Hogwarts and told you all about the Whomping Willow?" Aiden recalled that Tobie had almost fallen off due to a weak branch giving away underneath of her. Pulling her upward he climbed to the top showing her what it would be like flying on a broomstick. Feeling free, and at peace. There they sat for hours, Aiden explained Hogwarts to her reassuring she'd get her letter soon enough.

"I'm going to kill her tomorrow when she's sober." Tobie growled. [/b]"She's such a pain in my ass sometimes, it's unbelieveable."[/b] she continued. "She won't puke. Niki's got a gut of steel." she said to Aiden. She had never really seen Niki get sick before, and she was positive that this time would be no different. She would, however, have a major, throbbing hangover tomorrow morning. Unfortunately the two had beds that were next to eachother in the girl's dorms...oh well.
"I do remember that." Tobie smirked. "You saved me from certain death." she teased, rolling her eyes and laughing. Aiden had shown her the world from a new perspective that day, telling her tales of Hogwarts and all of it's features, includin the Whomping Willow. Tobie remembered how her eyes had gone as wide as saucers at the thought of the tempermental tree. It seemed to amazing. So...so magical.
"Hm, you think we should just take her to the Hospital Wing or to the common room?" Tobie asked.[/size]

"Common room. She's been talking about clouds and I think she'd freak in the Hospital Wing. Too unfamiliar?" He chuckled at his childhood, thinking of how much both had grown. Physically, (more so for Tobie) mentally, and certainly emotionally. "Maybe after we out the child to bed," motioning toward Nikita he chuckled softly, "we can hang out. By the Whomping Willow? Bertha needs to be more socially anyway. She tends to come on to strong."
