Lily laughed softly, not many people could believe she danced Ballroom. "Yes, Zane. Ballroom and hip - hop." she said softly, hitting the Play button. Of course, the song she had meant to come on didn't. The lullaby that they danced to in class didn't come on. The song that they danced to in hip hop came on. The moves to the simple dance began to play out from her well practiced limbs. Sexy Can I by Ray J ft. Yung Burg just happened to be the certain. She pretended that she was up on stage, dancing to the beat of the song and for all the people who would be watching her. When she finished, her breath came in small gasps. She looked at Zane, wondering what he thought of her routine. "Care to dance to some Ballroom, Mr. Lestrange?" she asked, offering her hand. She normally would be too embarrassed to pop her body the way she had to do in the dance she had just preformed for Zane, but since they were going to a 'thing' soon, he should know. She laughed. "Was it that badd?" she asked, her face glowing a soft red.

Zane just remained sitting on the sofa, unable to stop smiling. He watched Lily dance to the song, tapping the sofa with his left hand in time with the beat. As she crossed the floor as the music came to an end, Zane still couldn't stop smiling. "Ok," he said tentatively, taking Lily's offered hand. "It was good," Zane said, brushing a stray strand of hair out of Lily's face. "So," he paused before saying, "where do we start?"
Lily smiled as he said it was good. "Why, thank you!" she said, pushing the play button and hearing the correct song play. It was slow and perfect for learning to dance. "Just dance, Zane. I'll follow your lead. You said you could dance, lets just see how you do." she teased, placing her free hand on his shoulder. She twined her fingers through his fingers, smiling as she did so. She wondered how amazing the would look together on the dance floor the night of the Yule Ball. The thought brought a big smile to her lips. "Shall we?" she whispered, moving closer to Zane.

"When I said I could dance I didn't...oh never mind," he said trailing off towards the end of his sentence. He smiled as Lily placed a hand on his shoulder and he obliged by placing his free hand on her waist. "Ok then," he said quietly, as they began to dance slowly across the common room floor. He made sure they steered well clear of the sofa and other obstacles around the room. He smiled as he began to relax, no longer worried about the dancing. It seemed to be going well so far as they twirled around to the music.
Lily smiled as Zane began to lead her around the room. He was rather good at dancing. Better than most boys would probably be. She laughed softly, looking up at him. She liked the feeling of his hand on her waist, leading her around in a cirucular pattern. She looked down at their feet. They moved in sync with eachother, never messing up. Laughing again, Lily looked around the room. "Your not so shabby, Zaners. This is pretty fun." she announced, the music coming to a slow stop.
He smiled as they continued to dance around the room. It just seemed so natural, the flawless syncronised footwork. So carefree. "Erm thanks and yeah this is fun. Another dance Miss Lily?" he asked with a smile on his face as the next song began to play. This one was slightly faster than the previous one, more energy. Zane paused, waiting for Lily's response. He took a quick glance around the room, just to double check that it was still empty. Mind you, Zane didn't really care if it was empty or not anymore.
Lily smiled softly, the sign that she was, indeed, getting embaressed. She laughed, looking at Zane. "Of course, Zane. Another dance would be wonderful." she whispered, waiting for him to being the perfectly in step rythm of their dancing. She smiled as he began to move her around the room again. "Very good." she commented, letting him lead her to a step she had never learned. She smiled again, just looking into his eyes.

They danced across the floor, twirling in perfect sequence, perfectly synchronised footwork once again. He smiled as he spun Lily round before crossing the floor once more to the other side of the Common Room. "Not bad yourself," he said, with a smile larger than the last. He looked down into her eyes whilst somehow managing not to crash into the sofa or trip over the discarded Wizard's Chess pieces.
Lily smiled again, not looking away from Zane's eyes, even as the music came to a halt. She smiled and another song played. It seemed as though they hadn't paused between songs. The next song, faster than the other two, was very sad. Filled with sorrow. This song, unlike the others, was blessed with the soft voice of a gril. The sweetly sad lyrics brushed over the room. Lily smiled. She wondered if Zane would understand. It was her song. She had written it the previous summer. She was about to say something when a yipping came from near her feet. She looked at Zane, a quizzical look on her face. She laughed and looked down. The source of the noise very clear in her mind. "Sorry, Zane. Its seems Conner doesn't like to sleep alone." she said happily, her voice still soft in the background. She thought about the CD, how all but the first songs were hers.

Zane smiled as the song ended and a new song began. Wow such a pretty yet sad song. The lyrics are beautiful yet filled with sorrow. I love the melody in that bar, Zane's thoughts wandered as they continued to spin around the room. As the song came to an end, Zane just flopped back down onto the sofa, smiling slightly. "It's ok Lils, I'm so tired, I could do with..." Zane smiled again and after a few seconds, a scarlet blanket had floated down from his dormatory. "Perfect," he said quietly as he unfolded the blanket, "care to join me Lils? We could toast crumpets..."
Lily smiled as Zane said it was fine, that he was tired. She laughed softly, bending down to pick up her small dog. Just a puppy, Conner was given to her in a cage on morning during breakfast. What a hoot that had caused. Smiling as Zane unfolded a large blanket, Lily walked over to him. She watch the boy, her puppy, which was a King Charles Caliver, licking her hand. "That would be nice, Zane. Care if he joins us?" she asked, knowing full well the pup wouldn't go back to the room alone. Yawning, Lily sat down, leaning into Zane's side.

"Of course not," he said quietly, placing half the blanket over Lily. He stared at the flames for a while, just enjoying the silence which was only broken by the occasional crackle of the fire and a yawn from Lily. "You're making me even more tired," he yawned as he said this, "oh I forgot, we ate all the crumpets earlier, nevermind." He brushed a stray piece of hair out of Lily's eyes, smiling as they settled down next to the fire with the scarlet blanket.
Lily smiled, letting her small dog sniff Zane's arm. She laughed softly. "I'm sorry, Zane. How could you have forgotten? You can't be the crumpet loving Quidditch Captain if you didn't remember we ate those long ago." she teased lightly, watching her dog. Before she could figure out what happened, Conner had pounced off her lap and onto Zane's, placing his tiny paws on both shoulders. Lily stifled a laugh and Zane got a couple licks to the cheek. "I think he likes you." she said, watching with a growing smile.
