Lounging out on the ground behind a rather large green bush, Tess' head snapped up as she heard the footsteps, and voices of her boyfriend, Brendon, and the Potter boy, Albus. She had no feeling of dread in her mind before she heard the harsh tone in Brendon's voice. Her back crawled, just as she remembered the tone. It was the tone of voice that her brother's murderer had deep in his voice. She shuddered, remembering the dreadful voice. Slowly, she peeked through the bush, watching the scene unfold in her eyes.
A very thin line of tears, layered Tess' bottom eyelid, as she heard Brendon speak the horrible, hateful two words. She hoped up from her spot, running over to where Albus now lay, stiff as a board, She completely ignored her boyfriend, the murderer. She ran right towards Albus, placing her hand on his cheek. She could feel Brendon behind her now, and her voice rumbled out of her throat, with poison. "Monster," She hissed, looking up at Brendon with hateful eyes. A tear streamed from her eye, as she poke once more, her voice cracking, "You promised you wouldn't turn into him... YOU PROMISED!" She yelled, crying hysterically now.

Brendon turned from Albus' limp figure hearing the voice he dreaded. "Tess." he started to say, his voice cracking. "I'm not him. Not at all." he looked away from her not able to take her glare.
Tess turned her head back to Albus, not being able to look at Brendon. More tears fell from her face, as she looked into the pale, cold, and lifeless face of the innocent Potter boy. Her hair fell over her shoulder, covering up her hurt expression that laid so plainly on her tear streaked face. She sobbed, partly for Albus, but mostly for Brendon. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he had turned into the man that Tess loathed. This tore her heart into millions of pieces, as she heard the fatal voice of her boyfriend, crush her heart even more.
Sighing, Tess threw her long hair over her shoulder, and stood up from her crouch, but not turning to look at Brendon. She couldn't, it just wasn't possible. She saw Albus' broom laying a couple feet away from his corpse, and she strutted over to it, grabbing it with once hand. She continued to cry, feeling her feet glue to the ground. No, they were not literally glues to the ground, but it felt like it. Finally her voice broke through her exasperated gasps, "No... just stop. Stop lying straight to my face. How do you do that? You're suppose to loovv-" She couldn't finish, her voice cracked as she fell to her knees.

Brendon scowled looking from Albus' limp figure to Tess. He knew that he had betrayed her. He felt horrible guilt at the fact that he betrayed her. "Look Tess you knew that that was my intention. That doesn't make me as bad as him." he said walking towards her wondering whether she would punch him if he tried to hug her. He was also aware that he should probably get out of here soon. He took a deep breath "Tess. I'm really sorry, I didn't think that I would be so ruthless. I promise, no more." he said truthfully meaning it. He had avenged his father's death now. That was even too much for him to bear.
Tess sighed, half sob, half sigh. She closed her eyes, letting the tears continue to rumble out of her eyes. She heard Brendon's voice, but it seemed faded... somehow distant. His voice was muffled, as she shook on the ground, her knees holding her body in place. Her voice was shaky, as her hands shook as she held the broom tightly. "No. You... you don't get it. YOu took him away from a family. People who loved him dearly! While, not giving a shit if you did. Just like... just like he took my brother away from me, and also tearing my family apart. Think about it." She sobbed, standing back up onto her shaky knees. She pushed through him, half of her wanting him to hold her, while the other half knew it would tear her apart even more.
Her voice broke through her gasps once again, filled with melancholy. "You know what... just forget about it. Forget about my feelings." She turned back to him at that final note, "No...instead... just forget about me!" She yelled, her voice at it's most hysterical point. She pulled the necklace that hung on her neck off, throwing it at him. More tears fell from her eyes, and her heart shattered.

Brendon watched her feeling his heart break. When she pushed through him he put his arm around her hugging her. He felt terrible "Potter and Weasley took my father away from us. Don't you think that he deserves this?" He wanted to say but didn't knowing it would annoy her even more. His heart shattered into hundreds of pieces when she was talking about him forgetting her. "No I will never forget or let you go. I love you too much." He caught the neclace and recognised it as the one he had given her last christmas. It was a heart encrusted with diamonds, had cost him a fortune. He frowned and looked at her "I'm not proud of what I did. Nor can I take it back. I love you and would never do anything to hurt you. Ever. Please Tess forgive me. I don't wanna lose you. You're the only one who is keeping me sane here. If I lose you then my life wouldn't be worth living." He knew it was cliche but it was true. If it wasn't for her, he would have killed himself after he heard about his father's death. He actually had the knife in his hand when she came in on him and stopped him.
It seemed like n eternity before Tess turned back to look at Brendon. She could see the hurt in his eyes, almost identical to the one in her blurry eyes. She sobbed, and sobbed, surprised she hadn't made herself sick yet. She was positive that soon she would be puking up her guts, though. Her heart ached as she listened to Brendon speak. The words touched her heart, numbing the pain she felt deep in the core of it. Suddenly, Tess ran back over to Brendon, wrapping her arms around him and burying her face deep into his chest. She sobbed there for what seemed like an hour, obviously showing all of her emotions, no matter how small they were. She cried for her brother, for her parents, for Albus, and mostly for Brendon.
Tess shuddered underneath Brendon's touch finally losing her tenseness. She didn't want to let Brendon go, and luckily he hadn't been willing to let her go. She sighed, finally catching her breath, and getting rid of the deep gasps. She held onto Brendon tightly, her stomach swarming. Too much had happened in one night for her to handle. It seemed crazy enough for her to die right there on the spot. "I-I love you too." She finally said the three words her heart aching as she said them.

Brendon watched her turn round seeing the hurt in her eyes. He held her tightly against him. His feelings finally boiled over and he started crying. He was so angry at himself for getting her so sad. He vowed never to get her so upset again. He kissed the top of her head soothingly hoping she would calm down. "Let's get back to the castle, you need some rest." he said soothingly. He picked her up and carried her out of the forest making sure no one saw them and walked with her towards the castle.

James was practicing quidditch when he saw a figure fall out of the sky. He didn't see who it was, but he flew out of the pitch and corkscrewed down to where he thought the person fell. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a figure with dark hair hurrying away. Suspisions caught him and he landed slightly away from the person and walked towards where they must be. He got to the clearing looking round and saw a limp figure. He ran towards it. As he got closer he gasped feeling a heaviness in his chest and felt it constrict his throat as he realised it was his brother. "Al!" he shouted running towards his figure and fell to his knees by his brother. He felt tears fall and splashed onto the ground. "Noooooo!" he said under his breath feeling horrible grief. He and Al had never seen eye to eye, but he never wanted him to die. He got out his NO coin and pressed it alerting Zane and Lily and Ted. He looked down at his brother's shocked eyes knowing that he didn't just fall. This was cold blooded murder. His grief turned into anger and fury at the person who had killed him. He tried to remember the person who had fled from the scene trying to pinpoint his features. All he could think about was the grief and anger he felt.
Running her fingers through her long, golden blond hair, Lilah sighed evenly. A smile, of pure delight, was etched on her face while her head swarmed with misty, sexy thoughts of her boyfriend, James Sirius Potter. She closed her eyes as she walked, not being able to concentrate on her footing. She ran smack dab into two people, one of whom was carrying the other. She looked at them curiously, her eyes studying them. She noticed the male studying her with evil eyes, but the lady did no such thing. Her eyebrows furrowed, as she recognized the two. Brendon Mitchell Keaton, and Tess Draven. The other 'new' couple. Of course in Lilah's mind her and James were the cutest couple. She shrugged, blocking the two from her already crowded mind.
Lilah sighed, but her eyes suddenly widened as she heard the cracked, hurt voice of her boyfriend. She began running through the trees, finally reaching the clearing. She stopped abruptly, her eyes catching on James, and then his brother, Albus Potter. "Jay?" She asked, her voice sounding muffled. She knelt down beside him, her hand placed on his heaving back. "Wha--" She stopped listening to James cry. She watched tears fall from her eyes, and her's blurred up in response. She pulled James into her arms, hating it when he was hurting. It just wasn't right. In no way. She sighed, feeling terrible now. Her once wide smile vanished, and her eyes blurred more.

The Golden Boy was asleep on the sofa in front of the roaring fire, his blonde hair appearing to shine in the flickering flames. The soft rise and fall of his chest signalled that for once Zane was in a deep sleep. Nothing to worry about. No drama to deal with. No stupid potions essay to right. As he dreamed of flying high above the castle, something poked him in the side. Oh it's nothing. The something poked him again. Urgh leave me alone, I'm trying to sleep. The poking continued until finally, those brown eyes flicked open and caught sight of three second years staring at him, one of whom was holding out a galleon in his right hand. "What do you want?" Zane said rather politely considering he had just been woken up. "We were just looking at it, we didn't do anything, honest!" one of the second years began as he pressed the galleon into Zane's hand.
"What are you talking about..." the words stopped abruptly as the galleon suddenly felt warm in the palm of his hand. He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and staring at the galleon, only then realising what it meant. He got up, grabbing his trainers from where he had left them on the floor and hurridly, put them on. He ran out past the portrait of the Fat Lady, running flat out down the Grand Staircase, dodging a few bemused looking Slytherins on the way. He pushed the door open that led out into the grounds, and immeadiately wished he had thought to put a jacket on, instead of just the pale blue t-shirt and joggers which he had been wearing. Nevermind that, just run! Zane blocked out all thoughts of the cold as he sprinted towards the Forbidden Forest, the heat from the coin increasing as he got nearer. "James?" he said into the silence, before heading straight into the trees. As he got closer, he put the coin in his pocket, as it was getting too hot to hold.
He pushed past a large fern and broke out into the clearing. He saw James and a figure lying on the ground. And I thought today would be stress-free... As he stepped closer he recognised the features of the figure, lying motionless on the ground. They belonged to James' brother Albus. He didn't say anything as he walked closer, just catching James' eye as he stopped next to him. I don't know what to say. I feel so sorry for him, I know how it feels to lose a brother, but no doubt he won't want to hear that right now...

James looked down at the shocked face feeling nothing but pain and grief. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Lilah rush towards him and felt her comforting hand on his back. He was glad of the comforting feeling she was giving him, but he was just torn apart by grief. He also felt like he had failed again. His father had made him swear to protect all of them and now his brother was lying in front of him murdered. He hugged her still crying glad to have someone there. He saw Zane running towards him too. He looked up at Zane and could tell he was at a loss of what to say. "Duros will blame this on an accident." he said. "I saw him fall. then saw someone running from the scene. Murder." he said thinking he had an idea about who had commited the crime. He felt his voice break and took deep breaths trying to calm himself "Where's Lils?" he asked.
"Jay..." The new nickname floated out of her mouth once more, still sounding muffled, but also broken. She had no idea what to say to him. Lilah felt a tear trickle down her tan cheek, drawing a glistening mark all the way down to her chin, where it then fell off of her face onto the ground. She sighed, caressing James' cheek soothingly, she took some notice to Zane, though it wasn't much at all. Her mind was focused just on James, and ONLY James. "Shh... Shh..." She tried to quiet him, listening to him sob in her arms. Then it struck her. The two people that bumped into her. "Jay, I know who did it. I saw them running."
Lilah ran another hand through her hair, removing it from her face. This time her hand was not gentle, or still. It shook horribly, her heart racing. She could basically feel the pain that James was feeling, although the pain she was feeling seemed to be covered up by a thick blanket, muffling it. She looked down at Albus' pale face, also feeling a ting of pain for him. He didn't even get to live his full life. It was cut short because of those to people. She looked away from him sharply, giving her whiplash.

The tears stopped. All that was left was pure anger, pain and grief. He heard Lilah as if from a distance saying the new nickname and looked round to her and Zane. He focused on her and asked her "who did you see?" but he thought he already knew the answer "Brendon Mitchell Keaton. I bet my firebolt." he thought already thirsty for revenge. He scowled looking round at Zane knowing that revenge wasn't what the NO stood for, but at this point in time he didn't care.
Nodding her head comfortingly, Lilah's dark brown eyes looked back at James. "Yes..." she mumbled, feeling uncomfortable. She let her hand rind his, her fingers entwining through his. She squeezed his hand gently, her dark eyes solemn. Feeling apprehensive, Lilah looked at Jay with big, curious eyes. "Jay... what are you thinking about doing?" Her voice was gentle, but filled with struggle. She was just a curious little creature today, now wasn't she? She liked to compare herself to a daisy. Light, but also bright and cheerful. Also, pretty and graceful.
