Zane watched Brendon's face as he saw his unforgivable blocked. Even Zane was surprised, unforgivables weren't supposed to be stopped by shield charms, even really strong ones. Zane stayed silent just watching the Slytherin not wanting to jump in, just in case he lost any scrap of patience he had remaining. Don't kill Lily. Get away from her. Don't you dare hurt her or I'll hurt you so much. The flow of thoughts continued as the staring contest continued. He heard Lily's voice and resisted the urge to run over to her and take her in his arms. That would just get them both killed. Then he saw that hateful look cross Keaton's face once more, as he perfromed the cruciatus curse again. No! Not again. I wish I could push him into the Black Lake or worse. He's the epitiomie of everything I hate. He's getting revenge for his father, it's good that I hopefully managed to pursuade James away from that, well at least postpone it. These thoughts took place in a fraction of a second and then he heard her screams. I can't stand it, I have to do something. No I can't. Yes I have to otherwise he's going to kill Lily and it will be all my fault. How could I live with myself if that happened? Knowing that her blood was on my hands? I couldn't. I wouldn't be able to. I swore I'd never to do that again, never again. Ever. Ever. Until now. He pointed the wand directly at Brendon,
"CRUCIO!"

[Brendon Mitchell Keaton]

Brendon caught a slightly hint of surprise in Zane's eyes at the fact that the curse had been blocked. He smiled "pure flook then" he thought. He looked towards Zane after he casted the third curse on her and saw him angry. He waited as Zane seemed to be having an inward battle with himself "What's up Golden Boy? Too much of a coward to try a big spell?" he taunted. He hated Zane with a passion. He was too much of a show-off both on and off the Quidditch Pitch. A completly jackass. He glared at him watching as Zane raised his wand and shouted the spell which Brendon was not expecting. He himself had been hit with the spell many times, a few of those by Kia, and could easily shake them off. So as it hit him he thought he could throw it off quickly. However his curse was much stronger than Kia's. He grimaced in the pain feeling agony coursing through his body, but he didn't want to show the agony on his face. He finally threw off the curse and got up panting slightly "I'm impressed Lestrange. I thought you wouldn't have the guts to perform that." he said mocking him.

[Lily Potter]

Lily felt the curse drop after she heard the fatal word. She didn't open her eyes, wishing it was a dream. She rubbed her eyes, opening them slowly to see Zane's wand pointed at Brendon. It was true. She shrugged and grabbed her wand before Brendon could throw the curse off. She scowled, feel the drain the curse had caused her. 'Stupify!'

[/b] she thought, stunning him as he threw off Zane's curse. Quickly, she kicked him hard in the ribs and ran behind Zane before he could get her. "Thank you." she whispered, clinging to the back of his shirt.[/left][/size]

"I have guts, unlike you," he said quietly, pocketing the wand and turning to face Lily, his back to the stupified Slytherin. "Lily, I'm so sorry, I...are you alright?" he embraced her and kissed her on the forehead. "I'm so sorry I left you here all alone, I, I don't want to lose you." He whispered holding her tightly in his arms. James was right. I'm more like my parents than I thought. All that rage and anger, I just had to let it out.

Zane wasn't the only one looking for Lily. James was searching frantically for her. He had been in the common room and looked around not being able to find her. He went over to some of her friends asked them where she was. When they replied that she had gone for a walk outside alone. He had scowled remembering that he had made her promise to stay with friends. He ran round the castle as quickly as he could. He ran down the steps scanning the grounds and spotted three figures by the lake. One on the ground and the other two fighting. He ran towards them but hiding behind a bush that was there. He had to resist the urge of killing Brendon right then and there. He watched as Zane blocked the cruciatus curse and then gasped as he saw his best friend cast the same curse. Zane had been so dissappointed in him and Teddy when they had casted the curses. He stepped out from behind the bush and walked towards the fight standing beside Zane pointing his wand at Brendon.

[Brendon Mitchell Keaton]

As soon as he had thrown off Zane's curse he quickly cast a shield charm which blocked Lily's stunning spell. He growled as Lily stood behind Zane and knew that this plan had failed. He suddenly saw James Serius Potter join his best friend glaring at him and smiled "James Serius Potter. How nice of you to join us." he said evily. "Come to watch the demise of your sister first hand this time?" he taunted. "two on one. Hardly fair, but if I kill the brat then her boyfriend will be too sad to attack then its just him to get rid of and I am done." he thought. He raised his wand and sent the cruciatus curse at Zane as his back was turned.

[Zane Lestrange]

Zane hugged Lily again until he saw James approaching. He must have seen everything...oh no I'm in deep trouble now. He opened his mouth to apologise to James when he was hit in the back with Brendon's cruciatus curse. He flinched and fell to his knees, focusing on throwing off the curse. He shook as the waves of pain rolled over him. In what seemed like an age, he managed to throw off the curse and stagger to his feet.

[Lily Potter]

Lily smiled up at Zane. "Hey, its fine. I would have done the same thing. I'm fine and all we have to do is get out of here. Look theres James. He'll help." she whispered, hugging Zane tightly. She was about to tell James what happened when Zane hit his knees. She saw Brendon's wand raised and scowled. The anger than filled her body exploded that instant. "Don't you ever do that again, Keaton. I'll personally see to it that your head is ripped for your whimpy body." she hissed. helping Zane stay balanced.

[James Sirius Potter]

James glared at Brendon with nothing but pure loathing in his eyes. "You bastard." he hissed feeling the fury control him. He saw Zane's back turned and how he was just about to apologize for using the curse and was just about to warn him when he saw Zane buckle underneath the curse. He scowled looking back at Brendon sending the punch spell about five times over feeling furious at him. He watched as Zane threw off the curse and said "Zane I saw but don't worry about it, let's leave it for now."

Brendon saw Zane crumple under his curse and smiled triumphantly. His head snapped from Zane to James as he caught the anger in James' voice "well I'm not surprised he's pissed with me." he thought. His head snapped from him to Lily who had threatened him and he laughed "I would like to see you try." he said. He saw the punch curses from James and dived down missing three of them. The last two caught him in the stomach and the face and he stepped back slightly furious. He sent a cruciatus curse at James and one at Lily too.

[Lily Potter]

"Don't doubt m-" she said, before getting hit by yet another curse. She screamed out in frustration and pain, wishing that it would stop. Tears kept coming. Its too strong! she thought, opening her eyes to see blurry images of Zane and James. She screamd again, trying her hardest to throw it off.

[Zane Lestrange]

Zane turned back to stare at Brendon and he saw the sparks of red light indicating that two cruciatus curses were heading their way. I don't think Lils is fully recovered, I can take a hit for her. He heard Lily's screams and quickly stepped in front, taking the cusre instead. The pain wasn't as bad that time and he managed to throw it off a lot quicker than the last one. "Sorry being oveprotective, I know, I know," he said to Lily with a sheepish smile, before turning to face Keaton again.

[James Sirius Potter]

James grunted as he was hit by the curse and fell to his knees trying to fight off the curse. He couldn't see what happened with Lily but was furious that Brendon had aimed one at her too. He lifted his arm and sent a cruciatus curse at Brendon knowing that he would get stick about it later from Zane, but he didn't care.

[Brendon Mitchell Keaton]

Brendon scowled when Golden Boy took the hit. He had decided that if he wasn't going to kill Lily he would torture her to insanity. He watched as his other curse hit James. However he had thrown it off quickly and sent back one of his own. Brendon smirked thinking it would be a light one, but once again he was mistaken. It was nearly as strong as Zane's before. He fell to his knees trying to throw it off. Finally he did and growled at Zane and James "What if I torture her. Like your mother did to the longbottom's" he said directed to Zane knowing this would anger him. He turned to James "Imagine having a sister who doesn't know who you are or anything for that matter."

[Emeline Hughes]

<sub>Emeline could never have imagined the span of havoc she would cause in that single afternoon between that Slytherin couple. But if she had, she would have cackled to herself and been delighted at thinking of such a prospect.

However, she never had even thought about the two of them other than when they passed in the hallway. Sometimes, she admired the Keaton boy. He looked like he'd be a memorable shag if she ever got him away from that pitifully weak Draven girl. Naturally, the Brendon boy was weak as well, so caught up as he was, with revenge and the likes. He wouldn't know a real threat if it came up and punched him in the balls. But their vastly recognizable weaknesses only made them more human. And made them easier for Emeline to destroy.

She'd been out walking in around the Black Lake, fascinated, as she was, with performing the Leg-Locking Jinx on people before pushing them into the lake. It was oh-so-amusing to watch their struggle for freedom. But as she neared a certain spot, she dove gracefully into a nearby hollow to watch the proceedings of the meeting of two very different people. Brendon Keaton, the boy who's life she would mess with today, and Lily Potter. Now, she didn't care much for the Potters, but she didn't dislike them anymore than she disliked anyone else in the school.

But it was the words coming out of Brendon's mouth that made her smirk that wide smile of hers. He was threatening to kill the Potter girl. And performing Unforgivables on her. Tess wouldn't like that at all. In fact, Emeline was certain that if she spilled the beans to the pitiful little blonde, the girl would crack and dump Brendon just as soon as looking at him. And that was just the kind of mischief she was in the mood for.

As the meeting escalated and a third person entered the scenario, Emeline casually lolled off towards the castle, in a disguised hurry to ruin someone's day.</sub>
