S.O.R.R.Y seems to be the hardest word {Jam}

Zane shook his head, knowing that James would make some kind of comment about that. "I'll give you fly in the right direction, as he said this he punched James lightly on the arm. Zane knew that if James had made a comment about the Spring Ball, he would have received a punch in the jaw. No one talked about that anymore. It was in the past. Gone and forgotten. Although people kept seeing to remember it at the most inconvenient of times.

James smirked and rubbed his shoulder lightly, absent mindedly. He carried on thinking about these kind of things. Of course there was the obvious summer ball incident, but he knew better than to mention that. The last person who had mentioned it to Zane had received a hard punch to the jaw. He looked round thinking of a change of subject. "So have you found a partner for the Yule ball? You're not planning on going with Crenge again." he paused putting his hands up to his face just in case.

"Yes I've found a partner, no I'm not going with Charlotte," he said quietly. That was another thing about Zane, he was the only New Order member to call Charlotte by her first name. Everyone else called her Crenge or silver girl. Of course when Charlotte was present, Zane usually called her silver girl, or if she had called him by his surname, he would also. "I've had a few offers, as I'm sure you have," he looked at James as he said this and noticed that he was still guarding his face. There was no doubt that James would go with Lilah to the ball, even if Zoey asked James he'd still turn her down. It was obvious for Zane and the others, that James and Lilah were infatuated with each other.

James lowered his hands when it was obvious that Zane wasn't going to punch him. He scowled when Zane used her name "Why do you call her Charlotte? Not just Crenge." he sighed slightly and said "Who are you going with?" he asked half hoping half not that it was his sister. He smirked and nodded. Yes he had been asked by a few girls to got to the ball with him, but he refused all of them as his heat belonged to Lilah. They were in love and it was only a few days.

"Because I do James," Zane said, avoiding answering the question. "I'm going with Lily," he said quietly looking at James, trying to gauge his reaction. Well Zoey asked me before Lily did and I haven't told her yet. Well, I tried to tell her, I just think she asked me to annoy Lily. No doubt she'll go with Noah, they're right together. There's no way I'm mentioning that to James, mind you he might already know. The whole school seemed to know before I did... "Lilah, right?"

James looked away at the wall as he noticed the avoidence of the question. He tried to put it to the back of his mind now. He smiled broardly when he said that he was going with Lily "She must be over the moon." he said. He already knew that Zoey had asked Zane and that Noah wanted to ask her and sighed. He was glad that he had found Lilah otherwise he would be dateless. He nodded "Yeah Lilah."

Zane just smiled not really knowing how to reply. On the one hand, James hadn't punched him for saying that he was going with Lily, that was definitely a plus. On the other hand, Zane wasn't sure about James going with Lilah. Yes they seemed right for each other but it had all happened really quickly. If it had happened any quicker, anyone would have suspected that love potion would have been involved. Of course Zane didn't have any issues with Lilah. She's a nice girl. James and her are really similar and it just seems natural.

James saw Zane's expression of mixed emotions and frowed "You ok?" He asked. He knew that people were'nt really happy about him and Lilah. He knew that it was pretty fast. He knew that people suspected love potion was involved. No it was not involved. He smiled slightly as he knew that he had never fell in love that quickly.

"Yeah I'm fine," Zane said, a smile quickly spreading across his face. "So I'm guessing you've already co-ordinated both your outfits then?" he laughed as he said this. What if Lilah had picked a pink dress? James was well known to despise the colour. Seeing James wearing a pink tie would definitely be a talking point for the Quidditch Team. Zane thoughts turned to his own outfit. I think I'll just go black tie, much easier and it will go with any colour that Lily chooses.

James shook his head "I dunno what she is wearing. I'll just wear a black tie, easy." he smirked thinking about what would happen if Lilah wears pink and wants him to have a pink tie. He didn't own anything pink. He absolutly loathed the colour. He saw Zane laugh and knew that he was thinking the same thing "Just to answer your unaskek question no I will not wear a pink tie if Lilah wears pink. So you can wipe that smirk off your face." he laughed.

"Come on James, you'd have to admit it would be a night to remember. Both for you and the whole team trying not to burst out laughing every time they saw the look of annoyance on your face," Zane said smiling again, before checking on the whereabouts on Madame Pomfrey and the firebreathing girl. The Yule Ball wasn't that far away, which meant the first task had to be even closer than that. "So Gryffindor Champion, have you been practicing? You've seen the announcement about the task, right?"

James smirked, "In other words, the whole team will never let me live it down if that happened." He laughed. When Zane talked about the first task he smiled "Yeah I saw the announcement. Pretty obscure." he wished he could discuss the task with Zane, but the champions weren't allowed outside help "What do you think is means? I mean I've been looking through stuff and been talking to Lils. But I don't know what to focus on. Any ideas?"

"Pretty much," he laughed with James just stopping in time so that he heard James' question. "Well didn't it say practice everything? If I were in your shoes, I'd just practice everything after all I wouldn't want to go into a situation where I had no idea what to do," he paused trying to think at what the task could be. The announcement had said some kind of obstacle, but that could mean anything. It could be a monster, a riddle or even the other champions...actually I really hope it isn't the other champions, or a monster, a nice safe riddle would be good. "Not really, there's too many things it could refer to," he said quietly wondering at how James and Lily would actually fare in the first task, whatever it was.

James nodded "Yeah I mean we have time" he said pausing. He took a deep breath and added "I'm worried about Lils. What if she hasn't learned what is needed" he shook his head "sorry I'm worried about her. I didn't want her to submit her name." he decided to swot DADA, charms, transfiguration and potions later.

[Zane Lestrange]

"Look James, I'll help you practice," he smiled as he said this. His thoughts turned to that of Lily and James' worry that she wasn't ready. "Lily will be fine. They wouldn't have opened it to fifteen year olds if they didn't think they could cope. Anyway, she's got you. You'll be right there next to her, facing the task together," his voice trailed off towards the end. Zane was worried about Lily too, but he knew that Lily had made this decision and so he had decided to stick by her and support her. There's no use being over protective, I'll just help them prepare, then hopefully they'll do well in the First Task.
