practice makes ## perfect ##(lily & Zane

[James Sirius Potter]

James whispered the password and opened the door to the prefects bathroom. He smiled to Lily and held the door open for her. He followed her in waiting for Zane. "Zane had the idea of practicing here. What do you think?" he asked her.

[Lily Potter]

It wasn't like she was breaking a big rule or anything, right? Having your brother take you to the Prefect's bathroom for training wasn't breaking the rules. Well, at least not to Miss Lily Potter. The password was whispered from her brother's mouth and the door swung open. "Well, I guess this is alright. Bit of an odd place, don't you thin?" she said, a smile on her lips. She woundered why on Earth Zane had picked the bathroom for a training session. Well, that was Zane for you, always different form the rest of the crowd.

So why were they having a training session in the prefects bathroom, you might ask? Well the Room of Requirement was always swarming with DE members and the occasional love struck couple. The Prefects Bathroom was out of the way, not many people knew the password and so they were unlikely to be disturbed. Zane wasn't a prefect either, but being Quidditch Captain means that you had some privilges that the prefects have. Zane was actually already there waiting for his friends to arrive. He wanted them to be prepared at all times especially for surprise attacks, and so, Zane had decided to hide behind the mountain of taps and pipes. He had only just found a hiding place when James and Lily had entered. He waited for the door to close and prepared his surprise attack. Rictusempra, jumping out from behind the pipes, he sent two tickeling charms towards the siblings.

James looked round at Lils and smirked "Yeah it's odd. He must have had a good reason." he said. He had just turned to face the taps when he saw the flah of light and reacted quickly. He quickly drew his wand and cast a shield charm just in time. He hoped that Lily was as quick. He recognised the spell as the tickling spell.

Before she knew it, a jet of light was shooting at her. Quickly, she thought of the easiest sheild charm she could, casting it with mere seconds to spare. Sighing, she let the sheild drop, smiling widely at Zane. "Tickling me isn't going to help in my training." she teased, winking at the boy she had shared some many nights in the Common Room with. She looked quickly back at James, it looked as if he had also blocked the charm. "Congrats, Jammy." she said before looking back at Zane. "Mind telling us why you picked here for us to train?" she said, gesturing to the bathroom they stood in.

Zane smiled as he saw both James and Lily deflect the spell. He walked over to them quickly pocketing the wand, "Here? Well the DE are swarming all over the Room of Requirement and when they're not using it, it's occupied by love-struck couples," he glanced at James as he said this. "So I thought, where is there enough space for us to train, without anyone walking in on us?" He gestured to the massive space that made up the Prefects Bathroom. He paced up and down for a bit before beginning once more, "it's the perfect place to practice. Neville told me there's a Boggart in that cupboard," he pointed to an old wooden cabinet in the far corner of the room. "So are you ready to start?"

James smiled at Zane and blushed as he talked of love struck couples. He couldn't help but to remember that evening with Lilah. He brought himself back to the present when Zane mentioned a boggart and nodded taking his hoodie off and gripping his want tightly. "Ready when you are."He said both to Zane and Lily.

[Zane Lestrange]

Zane smiled as Jam turned a light shade of pink. He nodded roling up the sleeves of his hoodie in preparation. He looked between James and Lily before motioning to the large swimming pool sized bath, which was filled with cushions, something he doubted that neither James nor Lily would have noticed. He moved to stand at the edge and then said, "Ok, let's start with the basics then...stunning spells." Zane didn't think he needed to say any more, he knew the two were capable but the announcement had said all subjects. "I'm ready when you are," he said quietly smiling at them both.

James nodded and raised his wand and smiled at the fact that the bath was full of cushions. He took a deep breath and thought "stupify" he saw red sparks fly out of his wand and hit Zane in the chest.

[Zane Lestrange]

Zane took a deep breath and waited for the red sparks to appear out of no where. It was so quick that if he had blinked he would have missed it. The spell hit him squarely in the chest, sending him flying backwards to land in the middle of the sea of cushions. I hope they bring me round or I'll be stuck here for a while...

James put his wand in his pocket and dived into the cushions. He grabbed Zane's arm and pulled him to the side. He then thought "aguamentie" and poured some water at Zane to bring him round.

[Zane Lestrange]

A sudden splash of freezing cold water in the face brought Zane round from his stunned state. "You know, you could have just used enervate," he laughed as he said this, shaking his head as to send little drops of water onto James and Lily. He quickly fished his wand out from his jean pocket and began to dry his hoodie off with a little heat. Zane stood up and then said, "so what's next? There's no point trying shield charms, I've tested that already, ok, so basic disarming then?" He looked at James and then Lily, pausing whilst he tried to guage who would try to disarm him first.

James smiled and laughed "yeah but where's the fun in ennervate?" he laughed. He nodded at Zane and took his wand out and thought "expelliamus." more sparks flew to Zane and hit him. His wand flew out of his hand and flew towards James who caught it.

[Zane Lestrange]

Zane just laughed as James caught the wand which had just left his hand a few seconds earlier. "Nice catch," he smiled quickly retrieving his wand from James' outstretched hand, "ok, moving away from the basic stuff. How about, ok, prepare yourself James." Zane didn't intend to tell James what to do, after all he was supposed to be on full alert for attacks at any time. Ok so James is an occlemens. I'm not a legilimens but I should be able to penetrate his mind enough just to test his ability. Ok focus. Legilimens. No sparks appeared but instead a stream of images began to appear in Zane's mind, of which he guessed must be James' thoughts or memories.

James watched Zane's every move waiting for a hint of what he was doing. He saw Zane close his eyes, a tell tale sign of a non-legilimens trying it. He suddenly saw flashes of memory through his eyes. He quickly and efficiently closed his mind pushing Zane out with his mind. He ddn't realise he also raised his wand and cast a powerful shield charm towards Zane.
