It wasn't very late, but it seemed as if everyone was already tucked away in their warm beds. The green light from the fire filled the near empty Common Room. The only noise came from two boys playing an oddly silent game of Wizards Chess. No matter. It was nice and peaceful in the warm room that night, without the hussle and bussle of chattering girl and laughing boys. The best part, well for a certain Slytherin girl who was curled up on the leather sofa, was that there wasn't a single kissing couple in sight. Perfect. Just perfect. The sight of boys and girls kissing in public made Lucy Weasley very sad, very sad indeed. She had never had a boyfriend, not that she really needed one. It would be nice though, to have someone to run to after being bullied. Having someone that would beat up the boys that made fun of her daily. Never the less, Lucy hadn't nor was she going to have a boyfriend. She always watched the boys laughing and cuddling with their girls, jealously in her hazle eyes. She was getting used to it though, the longer you watch something, the easier it becomes. Another lonely night for Miss Weasley, curled up alone just watching the fire. She didn't want to go to bed, even though her eyes felt as if they weighed a hundred pounds. Sighing, she looked back at the chess boys, they were packing up they bookbags. She smiled softly at them. Third years. Even third years won't look at me she thought sadly, looking back into the blazing fire. She stifled a sob as she thoughth of how ugly she must be. Not even third years....
A faint sound was heard in the halls, as Kota Daniels ran his finger on the wall next to him. His head was held high, although his heart ran low. He had been so down for the past couple weeks because of what happened with Corliss, and who she was dating now. He was on the edge of getting over it though. He guessed that she just wasn't the girl for him, although he was almost positive that she had been. Sighing gently, Kota whispered the Slytherin Common Room password under his breath. He slid in the warm room quickly, clearing his mind from any floating thoughts of Corliss. He looked ahead of him now, waiting for the road to take him wherever he needed to be. Apparently it wasn't heading towards Corliss though who was probably snogging Noah at this point.
Surprisingly, Kota didn't eye the third years that passed in front of him quickly. He was tired of being an ass hole to the younger years. It was time for him to grow up. He sighed, walking over to a soft coloured chair. His eyes caught on the back of a girl's head, and instead he eyed her curiously. He had seen her before, but never taken much notice to her. He had always been focused all in all on the girl whom had broken his heart. He turned his eyes away from her, falling into the chair with a faint sigh. His eyes watched the fire intently, but his voice was directed to the girl who was laying on the couch. "Nice night huh?" He asked her, turning his head to look at her.

Caught up in thoughts of sorrow, Lucy didn't even hear the Common Room door swing open, or the boys flop down noisly in a chair. Her mins was far off. Her imagination getting the better of her. She thought of her family, and how she'd failed them. She thought of a certain boy, who was sttting near her but she didn't know that, and she thought of her cousin, and closets friend, Albus Potter. He seemed to be the only one that got the feeling of shame she always had. He felt the same way she did, only worse. Not until the boy spoke did she figure out she wasn't alone. Slowly, she looked up, tears staning her freckle dusted cheeks. She sighed, not knowing who it was. "Sure, whatever you say." she said, her voice low and strained form crying. She didn't look the boy in the eyes, mainly for fear he would laugh at her or call her names. "Why are you even talking to a low life like me? Don't you hang out with the cool group? Like Nikita and Kia and Corliss?" she said, her voice still very low. Her eyes stared into the fire, her mind drifting away again.
Kota's eyebrows furrowed as he was taken aback by both of her statements, but then he saw his answer. He saw a tear drop from her eye, and he immediately jumped up moving over to the couch. He sat next to her head, catching the fallen tear with his finger. His heart immediately ached at the site of a girl crying. He hated that... it just didn't feel right. His voice was low and caring as he responded to her, "Hey... don't... don't cry. You're not a 'low life'. Why would you think that? Sure, I hang with them, but it doesn't mean I'm like them." He sighed, staring into her eyes foundly. Tearing his eyes from hers, he looked at his feet, his thoughts taking him away.
Quickly, Kota turned his attention back to the girl, his voice quiet once more, "Do you want to tell me why you're so sad? Please?" He asked, his emotions getting the better of him. 'No... you can't flirt right now. You're suppose to be sad. DO NOT FLIRT KOTA.' He thought to himself trying to forget his past. His horrible past. Focusing again on the girl, he caught another tear, laying the back of his hand on he rosie cheek.

Before she knew what was going on, Kota was beside her, his hand catching her tears. She laughed, the action making her heart rip in two. She couldn't laugh. Her happy facade had to end. No one had ever seen her cry, until now. Well, no one from school that is. She wasn't even sure that it was Kota talking to her. Probably so look-a-like trying to win my heart just to break it in the end. she thought, new tears trickling down her grief stricken face. "I'm a low life because I failed my family." she muttered, still looking into the blazing fire. "I would rather not tell you that I am a total disgrace to my father, that everyone pickes on me because I'm ugly, that I've never had anyone to call mine. I wouldn't like you to know that I watch you and your group every day, wishing that I was part of the 'cool crowd'." she sighed, the sound catching as she took a shaky breath. "Care to tell me why you care?" she finished, having not looked at him in a while. She focused on the fire, not wanting to be hurt.
Kota lifted a single eyebrow at Lucy, before moving closer to her, his hand caressing her face ever-so-gently. He listened to her quietly, thinking about what to say. He looked at her and decided that she wasn't ugly. She was actually very pretty. He sighed, finally deciding on what to say, and exactly how to say it. "Look... There is no way in hell that you're ugly. You're beautiful in my eyes. So what about being a disgrace to your father? He can go screw himself, Luce." He paused shortly, feeling the sudden urge to comfort this girl whom he had just met. He continued slowly, "I care because I hate it when girls get hurt. Especially if I see that happen. Plus... you look like you need someone who cares. I can be that person, Luce. Trust me."
Kota wasn't really sure what to exactly say about being apart of the 'cool crowd'. Sure, he was apart of it, but at times he hated being apart of it. Although he was positive it would stay the same for quite a long time. He cleared his throat, talking once more. "Look... you're not the only person that's heart-broken here. I am too. One of my best friends broke my heart too, so there you go. No, don't go feeling bad for me like I am you. You're problems are probably worse than mine." He wasn't sure how she would respond to that, but his eyes grew gentle, and somehow warm.

A sorrow filled laugh escaped Lucy's lips. She stared at the boy sitting next to her, feeling horrible. "Please don't lie to me." she said weakly, her voice shaking. She looked away again, new found tears trickling down her cheeks. Sighing lightly, she looked back at the fire. "Can't you see that this isn't going to help? You have a broken heart. I have a broken spirit. Two totally different topics. Your can heal, easily. I'll never be happy, m'dear." she went on, knowing that she might somday be happy. But she knew, that was a long way away, a long time filled with heartache.
Kota leaned his head back, now laying down next to Lucy. His arm went up to his head rubbing it softly. This was getting really complex and deep... he would have to think harder about what he would say next. "First of all... I wasn't lying, and second of all wanna bet on the you'll never be happy part? I know that I'll heal, because I'm already healing, but guess what? You will heal too! No matter what. Do you trust me on that?" He asked, his hand moving back to her cheek. He moved her head slowly and easily towards him, that way she would have to look at him. He stared at her deeply, his eyes growing warm and caring. He wanted to boost up Lucy's spirits. And he wanted to do it now. He just wasn't positive on how to do it. Although, he was sure that he would figure it out very very soon.

Lucy sighed. Too many people had lied to her in her short life. Telling her they cared just for a joke. "I don't trust many people, Kota. Never do I trust people like you. Cool and all that jazz. Its a dare isn't it? They dared you to make me feel good? Did they dare you to touch me? Dare you to kiss me?" she finished, burrying her face into her own shoulder. "Get it over with, what ever they dared you to do. Just don't act like you care." she said, her voice muffled by soft sobs and the fabric of her shirt.
Kota sighed, trying to maintain his temper with Lucy. "No one dared me to do shit Lucy! Would you please just stop? I'm not out to torture you, or break your heart! I just care. Period. End of freaking story. People like me?! What do you think I am? Some soulless person that doesn't give a shit about your feelings, because that's not me. So if you mind I would like for you to stop judging me, because you don't even know me. You can't judge a book by it's cover. I'm not judging you, am I? Exactly." He fumed, trying to get Lucy to trust him. It was very hard, indeed but he knew deep down that he could do it. He breathed in and out, finally getting a hold on his temper.

Lucy looked at the boy who was trying to 'comfort' her. She scowled at him, her eyes turning cold. It was a known fact that Lucy hated yelling, espically when it was at her. "Don't you dare yell at me." she hissed, pushing away from the couch and Slytherin. "Goodbye." she said softly, grabbing the jacket that had somehow fallen to the ground. "Y'know, for someone who is trying to convince a broken girl that they care, you really suck at it." she finished before turning on her heel and begining to walk away.
Kota rolled his head back, shaking his head to the sides. He jumped up from the couch quickly, grabbing her arm as she turned to walk away from him. He pulled her back to him gently, looking at her with gentle eyes. "Okay... okay... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be such an... ass. Can you forgive me? You have to believe me though. I really do care Lucy. Please..." He said, pulling her easily back over to the couch sitting next to her. "If you would please just believe me... maybe we could help each other through whatever we are both going through... sound good?" He asked his voice strong and confident. He really wanted her to talk to him, and it was very hard to please her. "Look Lucy... It's so hard to say the correct words around you, in the correct tone of voice." He cocked his head to the side, smiling at her.

Lucy laughed softly as she felt Kota's firm grasp on her wrist. She smiled as she listened to him. "Okay, okay! I'll belive you. Just, don't hurt me, or ever do this......." she said, kissing him on the lips, moving hers in a pattern that was not familiar. Pulling away, Lucy looked away. "I just don't want to do that all the time." she whispered.
Kota's eyes sparkled with an unknown delight, as she flashed a simply gorgeous smile his way. He smiled back, but it was quickly swept away as he felt Lucy's lips press against his. This shocked him, immediately, and he couldn't help but kiss her back with an equal amount of passion. He felt her pull away, and his heart raced, just near as much as it ached for more of Lucy. Quickly, he grabbed her neck, pulling her towards him easily. He pressed his lips against hers once more, this time with more passion. He quietly responded against her lips in a hushed whisper for her ears only. "I'm afraid that's going to be a problem, Luce." He lunged back into the kiss, praying that this wasn't going too far.

Lucy pushed softly aganist Kota's chest, as if trying to push him away. Her weak arms soon found themselves winding around his strong neck. Her fingers twined through his short hair. It felkt so natural. She broke the kiss and smiled. "Maybe it won't be so bad." she sighed, placing her lips back on his.
