Go on now's your chance. Say you'd much rather go to the ball with her than with Zoey. Say it now, before it's too late and she goes with Leftwhich. You'll regret it if you don't. Yes Zoey will hate you and join the DE and then the New Order will be in even more trouble than it was before but who cares? James will hate you wither way, if you go with Lily he'll moan all the time, if you go with Zoey, he will probably not talk to you again. Ask her now you coward! Zane shook his head, pausing before saying, "Lils, I, you know, I'd much rather go to the ball with you than with Zoey. So will you go to the Ball with me?"
Lily waited, her heart pounding in her chest, while Zane said nothing. It seemed like ages as she stared into the glowing fire. A smile played at the corners of her mouth. Relax. Relax. He might not feel that way. CHill. Leftwhich will be happy and you'll be happy to se Zane happy. She kept having to remind herself of that. Zane being happy wounld help her be happy. The Triwizard, afterall, was only a ball. The Summer Ball hadn't gone well, but this one surely would. Just then, as she began to think back to the whole event it hit her. The reason she had left Ander with such ease. The reason she had begged her brother to leave with Zane as Nikita had burst into the bathroom. Then she heard it, the words she had waited for. The signature smile spread across Lily's face as she heard Zane ask her to the ball. Perfect!"I guess I knew that. But I wasn't sure until now. Of course I will go with you Zaney." she whispered, looking back up at him, her eyes sparkling in delight.

Zane smiled as Lily accepted his invitation to the Triwizard Ball. Yes! Oh, now I have to tell Zoey... Well that was that sorted, there wouldn't be any problems with stalker girls this year. Oh no. Zane had a partner, and well before anyone had even thought about who they were going to ask. Of course the girls had been planning their outfits for a while now, but that was always the way. He smiled again as he twirled another strand of Lily's hair around his finger, thinking about how best to approach the situation with Zoey tomorrow. I'm sure Lily will think of something. "Lils... about tomorrow, I'll probably need some back up..."
Lily smiled at Zane. She had gotten her way, much to her pleasure. It would be a great night, she would make sure of that. Of course, she was already planning what she was going to wear. Her mother was helping her via letter. Almost every other day she recived a letter talking about the dress. Oh, it had taken time, but the mother-daughter team had narrowed it down to two dresses. A gray, princessey one and a more comtempary brown and blue one. They were both beautiful, so it was hard to make up her mind. I'll ask Zane what he is going to wear. She looked back up at her date. "Just go there and I'll show up. Act like nothings going on between us. No one knows were going together. Trust me. Don't tell Zoey. It'll work I promise." she said, holding back the urge to say, "It'll work, love." Lily laughed, she knew it would be hard for Zane to lie. "It won't be lying. Your just no telling her who your going with." she said, winking up at Zane.

There was that look in her eyes again that Zane knew only to well. Lily Potter had a plan and this time, it didn't seem as if she was about to share it. Lily's plans always seemed to be some scheme or another. Some worked, some didn't, all ended up in detention. That seemed to be a consequence of Lily's plans, without exception Zane would end up in detention, usually alongside Lily, James, Ted and occasionally Rosie. "Ok," he said a confused look crossing his face, "what are you planning this time? Can I check when I'm free I'll have to book a place in detention as usual," he laughed at this, remembering the many fond memories he had of detention with Neville Longbottom in charge, just listening to stories about the good old days was hardly what you'd call, taxing.
A smile flashed on Lily's face. "When have I ever told you, or anyone for that matter, my plans?" she teased, winking up at Zane. She was always in some type of trouble. Yelling at a student for being stupid, pranks, hexing some student for being stupid, or some plot that involved James, Teddy or Zane. Her ideas didn't always end well, scratch that, they never ended well. There had to be some award for most times in detention. Surely James, Zane or she would receive that. Laughing softly, Lily turned her body so she was facing Zane, shrugging his arm off with some sort of will power. "I have a question. About the Ball." she said, her red head turning with a quizzical look on her face. Of course, she'd been thinking about the two dresses the whole time her brain had cooked up a plot for the Zoey issue. The gray dress, thats the one she chose. Perfect.

"True, true, but I live in hope," he smiled as he said this, hoping that this plan, whatever it was, wouldn't be a disaster. Of course there was no doubt that this plan would go wrong at some point but hopefully not on the same scale as the chocolate fanged frisbees... "Ok, I'm listening," he said quietly after the laughter had died down. Zane moved his arm so that it was resting on top of the sofa, after Lily shrugged it off.
Lily smiled softly, knowing htat Zane probably wanted to know her plan. She laughed softly as his arm rested on the curve of the sofa. Her eyes glinted as the light from the fire hit them. "Will we really have to dance, before everyone else? I mean, I'm not scared or anything, but......" she said, smiling lightly. No one knew of her dancing skilld but James and NOah Dale. It wasn't something she shared often. Well, ever. Noah had just had to know because she had wanted to practe when he was in the Room of Requirement. She guessed that she would have totell Zane sometime or another, but she could leave out the part about her preforming with a squad.

He smiled and nodded slightly, "well it's tradition, isn't it?" That had been worrying Zane for a while now. He knew it was tradition for the Champions and their partners to dance before anyone else, but would they carry it on this year? After all there were eight champions this year, not three. Zane wasn't worried about the dancing himself, no he was an alright dancer, it was more the fact that the whole school would be watching. I might have to get some practice in, don't want to make a fool out of myself... He ran his hadn through his hair, a slightly worried expression crossing his face before it was quickly replaced by a smile.
"Well, then I guess I'll just have to dance in front of the whole school." she said, happily. Dancing was her favorite thing, well besides Quidditch. She laughed softly as Zane looked worried. His smile afterward just made her heart flop over. Just too cute She gave him her smile before scooting closer to him. She leaned into his side, she seemed to fit perfectly by his side. "Are you nervous about dancing? I mean, do you know how to dance and all that jazz?" she asked, looking up at him with a look of pure peace on her face.

Zane nodded, watching Lily's eyes light up as she talked about dancing. He smiled as Lily scooted closer. "Dancing? Me? No I'm not worried..." he began to say until he saw Lily's expression, "Ok yes..." He paused before answering her question, "yes I know how to dance...just not in front of the entire school..." He sighed contentedly as he twirled a strand of Lily's hair around his finger.
Smiling, Lily looked around. It seemed that they were the only people left in the Common Room. Even her brother had left. Laughing, Lily looked back at Zane. "I could help you not be nervous to dance in front of the whole school. You see..." she said, thinking that Zane should know about her dancing. "You see, I've kinda been taking dance for, like, ever. So, if you need any help, just ask." she said, winking at him. Four people at school knew now. It felt good to have people know about it now. She waited, wondering if Zane would believe her. She waited in peaceful silence. Accio Lily Potter's radio she thought, after removing her wand from her pocket. "Wanna practice?" she asked as the sleek, black stereo landed before their feet.

Zane listened quietly, smiling as Lily laughed. Such a nice laugh. "You dance? That's cool," he said quietly watching the stereo appear at Lily's feet. He looked between Lily, the stereo and back to Lily once more, with a look on his face which read are-you-serious?It would be good to do some practice, and no one's around, he took a quick look over his shoulder as if to confirm this thought. Look no one's going to see, just Lily, she won't laugh, oh wait, yes she will, but what do I care? "Ok" he said slowly, running a hand through his hair, whilst remaining sitting firmly on the sofa.
Lily laughed softly. "Yep, hip hop mainly, but Mum said that I had to take Ballroom. Really not that cool. Pretty fun though. I preform over the Christmas and Summer breaks." she said, standing up. She dropped to her knees in front of the stereo. She looked up at Zane, smiling. "Care to dance or watch, Zaners?" she teased, waiting before she hit the play button. She wished that Zane hadn't known about her hip hop dancing, it really wasn't that good. Pretty bad really. Well, she was good but the dances weren't that "good" per se.

"Hip hop?" he said, smiling once more. "Ballroom?" Ok he could imagine Lily dancing to hip hop, but ballroom? He struggled to prevent himself laughing uncontrollably, and somehow he managed, his smile nearly giving him away. He just watched Lily, seeing her lips move but not hearing the actual question. "What? Erm," he managed to say, another confused look crossing his face. What did she just say?
