Noah placed his hands in his pockets, guiding his way down towards the Hufflepuff dormitory. After entering the Triwizard Tournament, he headed to the library to find out everything he could find out about it. What rotted him was the Harry Potter had been in the tournament when he was at school, and that meant Teddy, James and Lily, if either one of them got chosen they would have him to help them out. Not to mention any Weasley who entered, and he was sure Zane would get some help from Mr. Potter as well. He sighed and stood in front of the protrait of the talking badger blocking the entrance to the common room. He cleared his throat.

"I wish I could fly as freely as a Hippogriff, but for now I'll stick to my broom." Noah said a the portrait smiled, mention something about nice use of metaphor as he hoped through the hole. The common room seem surprising empty. He slid over to one of the worn black couches and sat by the fire. From what he gathered today, he was screwed. This tasks were hard, sometimes people died. But he read on the last tournament, and they had dealt with dragons, merpeople and a giant maze. Although, there was a fault, the port key taking Harry and a boy name Cedric to were the Dark Lord was reborn, and where Cedric died, the competition had been decided that Harry had won, although the last task was faulted.

What scared Noah the most,is that he looekd like Cedric, from the pictures he had seen. But he wouldn't mention that to anyone. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. This was his safe haven, away from the DE and the NO members, away from the chaos the tournament was bringing, and only Hufflepuff would come up and talk to him in here.

ooc; I have no clue how Hufflepuff's get into their dormitory, but I assume it's something like this, only because Ravenclaw has to answer a question to get in the common room, so I assume they would have to put the password into some poetic like thing.

[Zoey Abercrombie]

Zoey was sitting cross-legged on her bed, her diary open in front of her. She had put her name in the Goblet of Fire that morning, something she had been wanting to do since the tournament had been announced. The blond curls fell over her face as she searched for her quill. The lilac ink covered the front of the diary with the words, Property of Zoey Abercrombie. No one had read it, everyone knew to keep away from it at risk of being ejected from her circle of friends. The other sixth year girls were probably in the grounds somewhere, not that it mattered to Zoey. She preferred the company of guys anyway. Her thoughts returned to the tournament, what will my parents say? Will they be proud, scared? I don't know. Well I can't change it now.

Zoey stood up, her socks hitting the stone tiles. She was wearing her favourite pair of socks, lilac in colour and knee high. Yes they were different, but that's why she liked them. The small silver daisy necklace she was wearing had been a gift from one of her admirers, of course she had no idea who it was from, the note had just been signed with a X. It definitely added to is charm. Whenever she was wearing it her friends always began to talk about it, each saying it was a gift from them, but of course, Zoey knew most of them were lying, just trying to impress her.

Picking up her diary and placing it under her pillow, Zoey crossed the room to the mirror. She quickly checked her reflection before heading out into the corridor towards the common room. There was somewhere there. A silhouette with messy hair that she could recognise at an instant. She tiptoed quietly towards the couch and placed her hands over the boy's eyes. "Guess Who!" she said, a smile quicking crossing her face.

As Noah had been grieving he felt a pair of soft hands wrap over his eyes. She didn't even need to speak for him to guess who it was, but he would play along for a moment. Putting his acting skills into play, he tapped his chin, as if to be thinking and sat up, pulling her frame to the end of the couch. "Hmm.. is it was silly first year who has a crush on me? Or is she a second year? No, it can't be her." he pretending to ponder and before he knew it he turned in his spot and gently squeezed her side, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the couch so she couldn't get away. "Sheesh, you really have to make me guess?" Noah laughed, a soft grin played on his lips as he towed her towards the couch to sit down.

His eyes did their usual quick once over, something he knew Zoey wouldn't mind. She was used to it now. He smiled as he noted the knee high socks on his feet but frowned as he noted the daisy necklace around her neck. He had saw some other Puffer pick it out on the last Hogsmead trip, and when teased about who it was for, he just blush violently. He knew he didn't have any right to hate her for wearing it, but she had so many admires, it was hard to keep track sometimes.

He pulled her down next to him after inspecting her and wrapped his arm on the couch, but not on her shoulder, just enough so no admires would bother them. That's the thing with him and Zoey, they both had admires, so they were both used to people coming up to them and trying to talk to them. It got annoying sometimes, but it was nice to talk to someone who understood him. "Really though Zoe, you think I wouldn't know my best friend?" Noah laughed and his smile grew. "What have you been up to?" he asked, wondering how she would take him signing up for the Tournament.

Zoey giggled as Noah pulled her towards the couch. She smiled as she saw him admiring the socks and while he frowned at the daisy necklace. He does that every time I wear it, surely if he hates it that much he would say? He probably knows who bought it, well if he's got that much of a promblem if it, he should buy me something else. Zoey smiled again as this thought crossed her mind. "Yes I have to make you guess, where would the fun be in just walking over?" she said quietly as she settled into the sofa.

She looked at Noah when he was inspecting her, "are you quite finished?" she teased. Of course she didn't mind, she was used to it, something that came hand in hand with having so many admirers, Valentines Day was always a nightmare, not to mention invitations to a Ball. She and Noah had just clicked when they had met six years ago, best friends, hardly seen apart. He had to be her favourite guy in her circle, he understood her, they liked the same things, it just worked. And another thing in his favour was that he didn't pressure her into joining the DE.

"Just testing. Well this morning," she started pausing for a second as she looked into his eyes, searching for his reaction, "I put my name into the Goblet of Fire."

Noah grinned as she asked if she was finished and he chuckled. "Almost" he said, and being like a complete perv, starred right at her chest and waggled his eyebrows and then covered his face, ready for an impact of a hand or something along the lines. "You know I'm joking, right Zoey?" He laughed putting his arm down but was still wary, he knew there was a possible slap to the face at any moment.

As she told him she put her name in the Goblet of Fire, his heart must of stopped. If he had been drinking, it would of been spitting out everything at the moment. His eyes widened in horror before he could finally speak. "You put you name in the Goblet of Fire?! Are you completely mental?!" He said, his eyes still wide. "People die in this tournament Zoey! This isn't something you can back out of!" he said, his voice her louder with emotion. He slumped back down on the couch, knowing he could do nothing about it. He put a hand over his eyes and sighed. "Good thing I signed up too. Now i can watch your back." he said, waiting for that little piece of info set in.

Zoey attempted to frown whilst keeping a straight face, of course this was impossible, but she was still really tempted to slap him across the face. She waited until he had put his arm down and then pounced. She moved her hand quickly as if she was about to slap him before stopping just centimetres from his cheek. "Of course Noah," she said with a smile as she stroked his face before taking her hand away.

"Don't look so shocked Noah, I know what I'm letting myself in for and I'm not planning on backing out," she said as she saw the look of horror cross his face. Her face fell as he slumped back into the couch and put a hand over his eyes. Oh great you've really done it this time Zoey, he's really worried and angry. Her thoughts were interrupted with the last piece of information. She picked up a cushion and said, "Noah Dale! Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again!" with each word, she playfully hit him over the head with the cushion.

Noah flinched as her hand came towards his face, but there was no impact. He soon found her fingers gently stroking his cheek and he knew he had been forgiven. He chuckled and sat back up, noticing the buy who had given Zoey the necklace glare at him. He flashed Zoey his famous grin and gave the guy the bird. When it looked liked the guy was ready to kill him, one of his friends came over and ushered him out of the common room. Take that kid! Score one for Dale.

Noah shield his face as she saw him reach for the pillow. As she hit him several times, he looked behind him found a pillow behind him. He grabbed it quickly and flicked it around her pillow, hitting her in the shoulder. "Ha! Take that!" he said, returning the pillow in front of him to shield him from any on coming attacks. "And, what did I do wrong? What can I never do again?" he asked, the grin on his face widening as their pillow fight continued.

She smiled as Noah hit her with the famous Dale smile. She saw another Puffer being hurried out of the common room and began to laugh as a look of victory crossed Noah's face. "Happy now?"

Zoey laughed as the pillow fight began, when Noah managed to hit her on the shoulder. "I'll get you for that!" she said, launching another attack trying to get around the pillow shield. "You. Know. What," she said with each word came another swipe of the cushion. She paused for a second having realised her attacks were not hitting home. "You told me off for entering the tournament and then told me you had already entered." She smiled before saying, "You are such a hypocrite!", laughing as she launched a counter-attack.

Noah laughed as she continued to hit him with her pillow, and he kept blocking them with his own. He flicked his pillow towards her head as she called him a hypocrite and laughed, as he got hit from her counter attack. He held up his pillow for a second as if to say stop. "Alright, I may be a hypocrite, but frankly, how do plan on winning? Look pretty for the judges?" he grinned and flicked the pillow in her direction a few times.

Just stop Zoey, he's winning. Zoey paused pillow above her head mid-attack, when Noah held up his pillow. "You surrender then?" she laughed as she said this. "Hey don't try and steal my tactics! But honestly, if we were both champions then we'd be in it together, both looking pretty for the judges." She brought the pillow down fast enough just to intercept the pillow flicks. She tilted her head to the side slightly and looked Noah in the eye, I really want to know what he's thinking. It could be really interesting but no, I swore not to use my gift and I don't want to ruin our friendship.

Noah laughed. "I'll steal your tactics if I want to! I'm sure you'll be doing the same in the Tournament." he laughed. He was quick with his wand, but he knew she was too. He was just kidding with her. He placed the pillow back on the other side of the couch and rested his arm on the back of the couch. He smiled at the thought of them both being champions. He could imagine the headlines of the daily prophet now 'Champions have been chosen! Dale and Abercrombie look the most hopeful!'

Noah smiled and looked down at Zoey. If both of them got chosen, well he believed it would be perfect. He had already, deep down inside, decided he would bring her to the Yule Ball, he was sure she would say yes. Or would she? He worried that there was someone else always. He wanted Zoey to himself, but frankly he was afraid. She was one of the few people outside the DE who knew he was in it, and he was afraid if she got put into the picture she would get hurt. He sighed gently and looked into the fire.

"That would be cool, if we were both champions." he said quietly, still looking into the fire.

"Maybe Noah, maybe," she said quietlyas she listened to his laugh. It was really comforting, a sound that simply couldn't be described with one word. The sound just made Zoey happy, she liked spending time with Noah and found herself wanting to make him laugh. As he put down the pillow, Zoey hugged her's close to her, just in case he launced a suprise attack. Her thoughts turned to the Daily Prophet, I'll have my name in the paper alongside Noah. That really would be good. Champions. Even Mum and Dad wouldn't be able to argue with that. So much for Beauxbatons, Hogwarts was definitely the right choice.

She looked up into his eyes, thinking. Thinking about the Tournament, the Yule Ball, Hogsmeade visits and the like. "What's wrong?" she said quietly as he sighed. He's obviously thinking about something, maybe I'm being annoying, I don't know. "That would be great, I think we'd make a great team!" It was true, they were best friends, inseperable, none of the others seemed to have that. "Noah, I'm over here!" she smiled as he remained staring into the fire.

Noah smiled at her, not his true smile, but his fake smile. But really, you couldn't tell the difference. Thank god for his natural ability to fake emotions. I can't let her get hurt, never. I'll do whatever it takes to make ure of that. he thought before simply stating "Oh nothing really. Just thinking of everything." As he looked back to the fire, he couldn't help but wonder what other male champions from Hufflepuff could there be? He pondered for a moment, the possibilitys, but could only see himself placing the slip with his name on it in the goblet. Was he nervous? Hell yes, but he wouldn't show it. It would be an instant weak point that his oppenents could tamper with.

He was shaken out of his thoughts and looked bewilderly at Zoey for a moment. "Sorry, I've just.. got a lot on my mind." he confessed, and wondering if he should of shared that much.Zoey had the powerful ability of Legilimens, meaning she could read his mind at will. Although she promised she would never read his mind, he knew that if she really wanted to know something from him, then all she would need to do is use her ability.
