Avery shook his head trying to clear his thoughts. Every thing seemed to collided together now-a-days. He had recently lost Corliss, and now it seemed he was losing Tobie. It seemed like there was a big storm cloud always on top of his head, raining and storming down upon him. He was tired of it now though. Avery walked slowly down towards the Whomping Willow, looking down the whole way there. He only looked up when he could see people clearly about 5 feet in front of him. Two people who basically meant every thing to him. One Tobie. And Two... Aiden... his best friend. Avery felt his stomach clentch as he watched his girlfriend, and his best friend kiss. His jaw clenched, and he had to tear his eyes away from the stomach turning scene in front of him. He was sure that they had seen Avery by now, but he wished he could just vanish. His heart tore into more pieces, as his eyes met Tobie's.

Again, Tobie withdrew from another wonderful kiss. Her eyes were half-opened and she looked into Aiden's eyes again for a few long, drawn-out seconds. She couldn't even speak; her lips were paralyzed shut. She thought she had heard someone aproaching them, and in alarm she jerked her head towards the source of the noise. "and the shit hits the fan..." she said in a whisper, standing and brushing herself off. She crossed her arms over her chest, walking up to the person who was her...boyfriend.
"Avery..." she sighed, feeling her nerves pick up. Great. Bloody Brilliant. This wasn't how she wanted to break the news to Avery.

"Shit..." he murmured breaking their kiss, eyes glancing toward the clearing where Avery stood. "Well, better now then ever aye?" Before Aiden even have the notion to leave the spot where he and Tobie stood, he began thinking of various scenarios. There would be the one Avery hexes the hell out of him, two he physically beat the hell out of him, or three he'd be too speechless to do anything. All of these weren't too pleasing but nothing much could be done to prevent it. Tobie fell for Aiden and the same was in converse. No matter how much Avery pleaded, used violence, it would never change feeling between the two Slytherins. "C'mon." Intertwining their fingers he lead Tobie to where Avery stood, even with the reluctant edge in his walk. Face to face. It didn't make anything easier.

This was it. The moment that would change her whole life. The order she had recived was to kill. Kill one of her friends. Charlotte had announced it in the last meeting. It broke Corliss's heart, but it had to be done. The boy knew too much alreaady. Aiden and Tobie already knew about the plan, they just didn't know when she would put it into action. This night felt perfect. No planning needed. Kill him and then cast another spell. No one will ever know. All they had to do was toss him to the tree once he was dead. The tree would be blamed. Prefect The wind was blowing softly as Corliss followed Avery out on the grounds. She was perfectly quite, perfectly sneaky. Her wand was drwan, ready for the curse. She walked up to the group and winked at Tobie and Aiden. That was the ign it was going to happen. The wink. She knew it would break Tobie's heart, as well as her own, but Lottie's words were law. If you didn't follow the law, you were hurt. Badly. Bringing in a long, deep breath, Corliss looked at her ex. "Avery." she said, nodding at him. She aimed her wand at him. "Please forgive me." she whispered, taking another deep breath. No one could know the truth. Aiden and Tobie were told not to tell anyone. She would be praised. Even more so than when she got Lysander to the DE. "Avada Kedavra!"
she hissed, the jet of green light shooting at Avery's heart. Perfectly on target. She watched him crumple to the ground. Her eyes widened in shock. She'd done it. She'd killed him.
Avery's dark blue eyes fell on Corliss' as she approached him. Her wand was pointed directly at him, as he heard her say his name softly. Then the next couple of words came, and his eyebrows furrowed. "Wha... Cor?" He sounded broken. As he watched Corliss with wide eyes. Then the two words floated to him, at the very same second that everything went blank. He hadn't even felt himself go limp and fall to the hard ground. He was dead... immediately. All his worries gone, as all the pain and heart ache. Nothing was there. It was just black. He didn't have thoughts, or anything. It was different totally different. Avery Bently Bishop was dead, and his ex girlfriend had killed him.

Just like that, Avery was gone. the light faded from his eyes, and his skin was pallid and, well, dead-looking. Tobie thought she was going to throw up. So many painful memories...both old and new. She felt hot tears burn her eyes as she turned away, burying her face into Aiden's shoulder. She couldn't take this. She should have stopped Corliss. She had killed him on Lottie's demand. Avery...
All the memories of her mother came back into her mind. She remembered when they had brought her limp body back to shore. She and rowen had been sent back to the lakehouse, but Tobie saw her mother for a split second until she ran and ran until she was in her room. then she had sen her mother again at the funeral, looking beautiful as always, looking like she was just sleeping.
But Avery...no. He didn't look asleep. He looked cold, unalive. Clenching her teeth, she let out a few sobs, unable to grasp the fact that she never was able to hear Avery's laugh again, never able to hear him call her 'Tobie' or 'Tobster' or any other frivilrous nickname. After a few moments, she turned back to the scene, approaching Avery's lifeless form slowly. Lowering to her knees, she reached out with two fingers to close Avery's eyelids. Tears were falling freely now, and she looked up at Corliss.

His lips pursed together as he watched his best friend fall cold and dead. The grass creeped against Avery’s still frame never to be filled with emotion or anyone’s arms again. "He's really." Of course no words could bring him alive. Aiden would be racked with guilt for half of his life for his best friend dying, with a broken heart. He watched as October respectfully closed his eyes her open eyes pouring tears onto his chest. "Corliss." The words were slightly biting, singed with a bitter note. He truly didn't believe that Corliss had it in her to kill him. At least not so soon. The order from Charlotte was only sent a few weeks before, the mental preparation needed was so much more. He pitied her. "Corliss..." Holding his hand out he wrapped her into a brief hug. "It's not your fault. Or yours." Aiden redirected his attention to Tobie leaving Corliss in his wake. He dropped to his knees pulling October's head into his shoulder. "Life's not fair but we have something to live for."

Tobie leant against Aiden, continuing to stare at Avery's body. The idea of death hadn't wrapped around her mind yet, and she felt this horrible feeling of loss. "I could have stopped it," she whispered, placing her face in her hands. "It didn't have to end like this..." she continued, shoulers trembling slightly. "I'll never forgive myself, Ai." she said, looking up at him with tear-glazed eyes.
Now whatshould have been a wonderful memory with she and Aiden turned into a nightmare. A terrible, horrible nightmare that sunk it's claws into october's brain and injected venom into her thoughts. Her blood was now running cold through her veins, eyes looking vacant and empty like no one was residing behind them. "Who else am I going to lose, Aiden?" she asked, chomping down hard on her lower lip. "Who will be next? You? Corliss? Niki? Rowen?"

"Shhh...." There was nothing much to say. Anything that would he would say couldn't change the fact that Avery was dead. "Tobie, no one. I promise, Rowen, Niki, Corliss, me. We can take care of each other." Pulling her into his lap Aiden cradled her like a father would to their child. "Stop beating yourself up." He soothed rocking her fragile body gently. Tobie tended to have a rough exterior but inside she was a hurt child, needing a mother. A sense a stability that wouldn't fall from underneath her. "Tobie, I love you and you need to know that I'm not leaving anytime soon." Aiden was determined to be about the only one in her life that wouldn't fail her. He didn't want her hurt; anymore than she already was.

It didn't matter. Not the short hug she was given by a friend, not the praise Lottie would give her. Nothing. The boy laying on the ground was her first love. Nothing would every change that. She watched Tobie close his eyes, her own begging to be shut forever. Never in her life did Corliss think she would be ordered to kill her ex boyfriend, her best friend. This couldn't be happening. She could still hear him calling to her the last time she had cried at the old willow she stood before now. "Corliss... baby no, when I told you that I loved you, and nothing was going to change that, I meant it. NOTHING is going to stop me from loving you. Abslolutely NOTHING. Trust me on that." The words so clearly coming from the heart that she had caused to stop beating. She looked at the boy, willing her feet to move. It was no use. No use at all. She needed the support that Aiden was giving Tobie. Tobie would never feel this pain. Corliss wouls never be the smae. Ever. She knew, right when she had muttered the words, that she would miss his light hearted laughs. She knew she would miss his cocky kiss on the cheek when she was feeling blue. She would miss the young boy whose life she had to take. No words could tell how utterly depressed she was. With that, Corliss fell to her knees, wishing that he had been ordered to kill her instead. Though she knew it could never happen. His wish had been granted. The weeks before had been filled with pain for her, and him. He had asked her one night in to Common Room to kill him. He said it would be for the best. Nothing could help her now. Grief washed over her, knoing that her best friend might not forgive her and that she ad killed a friend was too much. Tears streaked down her cheeks. As Charlotte had said, it was harder to kill a friend than it was to kill a stranger.
It was when Noah was reutrning from the Owlery that he noticed a green flash from down by the Whomping Willow. Curious, he leaned against the banister, noticing a few members of the DE down there, and a particular blonde as well. He smiled, realizing that Corliss was down there, but something seemed wrong. He watched as a girl fell into the nearby boys arms, shaking with what seemed to be sobs. His eyes glanced over to the now motionless figure on the ground. And then to Corliss, who just seemed to be standing there. With that, he knew only one thing for certain, she needed someone by her side at that moment.
He made his way down the staircase, looking for any signs of prefects. He was flashing through DE meetings in his head, obviously someone had been killed, but who, by who and why? He was sudden;y reminded of the task Charlotte had given Corliss. At the time they were only just blossiming into friends, so he didn't really take note of it, but now his heart squeezed, knowing she was in pain, that she had killed Avery Bishop, her first love. It was hard enough at that to kill him, but the two of them weren't just ex-lovers, they were best friends. He could only imagine how much that hurt. He gained speed as he entered the grounds, jogging towards the Whomping Willow where he had seen the small battle. It was only when she came into view, dropping to her knees that he began to run, run to her, his soul purpose was to comfort her.
As soon as he could her dropped to his knees beside her. Without hesitation, he took her in his arms, cradling her there, letting her sob in the croon of his neck as he stroked her back. "Shhh... Shhhh Corliss... It'll be alright princess... shhh..." he tried to soothe her, not really caring if his sweater was covered in her salty tears, all he wanted was to see her happy once again, to make her feel safe. He looked over her shoulder to see the lifeless body of Avery, a shiver immedietly fell down his spine. He pulled her closer to his chest, kissing the side of her head and continued whispering soothing words. He would stay up all night with her if she needed him to.

Memories of Avery flashed through her mind. She knew that taks wasn't over, but that wasn't helping either. Tossing Avery to the Whomping Willow would be horrid. She could still she him as he had fought Kye Wood after the boy had checked her out. He could still see him as he won her heart back in the Common room. She could still feel his warm body as he had protected her from an exploding rock that Teddy had blown up. She saw his face, smiling and laughing at her pokes at him. She saw all of this, and her heart ached. As she relived the moment over and over and over again, someone got down beside her, holding her like a baby. Before she could look to see who was comforting her, Noah Dale's voice drifted to her ears. Happy memories flooded her memory. Though the feeling wasn't strong enough to overcome the feeling of remorse. "Shhh... Shhhh Corliss... It'll be alright princess... shhh..." she heard him whisper before he kissed the side of her head. She wanted to stop crying, she didn't want Noah to see her like this. There was no use. SHe couldn't stop. "N- N- Noah.... I had to..... I didn't want to... Lottie, Lottie will be happy.... Right?" she whimpered into her neck, kissing him softly.
Noah held her tighter as she whimpered. He couldn't imagine how hard that must of been for her. He wanted to take all the pain from her and let her be happy, happy like she was when she realized she was 'bad' again. He chuckled to himself quitely, before pulling himself back to the situation. He sat down on the cold, wet ground, but it didn't really matter to him. As she kissed his neck he got shivers down his spine, but had to remind himself of what was most important at the moment, and that was making Corliss feel like a hundred percent again. "You did good Corliss, so good. I'm so proud of you love, that must of been so hard." he told her honestly, rocking her in his arms now as he stroked her hair. He knew her task wasn't complete, she would still have to throw Avery Biship into the Whomping Willow and watch as the tree mangled the boy to bits, so there could be no blame on Corliss. He wasn't sure if she could do it herself, and if she needed he could finish it for her. Avery had always been a bit of an ass to Noah, due to the fact he was a Hufflepuff, but he never showed it. He kissed the side of her head again before whispering to her. "I'll stay with you as long as you need me Corliss.. mia bella principessa." he whispered to her, continuing to stroke her hair as he soothed her.

She couldn't do it. Not one ounce of her body would allow her to finish the task. Someone would have to finish it. She couldn't will herself to toss Avery's lifeless body to the tree and watch it as it was beaten and battered beyond compared. That would be the worst part. Having to watch as the boy she had killed was tossed around, watching until enough damage was done to look like the tree had killed him. Nothing could be said about this. Many Slytherins would be moruning for a long while. Avery was such well know guy. He would be missed. "Sweets, I hurt. I shouldn't have done it. She made me." she whispered again, not wanting to speak loudly. She smiled as he called her his beautiful princess. "Noah, don't leave me, love. I love you." she whispered, hardly even she heard herself telling him that.
As soon as the words I hurt left her mouth, he held to her tightly, the pain that hit his heart was terribly painful. He never wanted her to hurt. It hurt when she hurt, and it was the oddest sensation, he had never felt it before. "It's going to be okay Cor. She has us all doing something we don't want to do." he whispered, thinking about Ted Lupin and the crew that thought he was friendly and good enough to share their secrets with. He noticed the smile on her lips, with made the corners of his mouth tug slightly. "Noah, don't leave me, love. I love you." as she told him this, even in the sadness of the moment he couldn't help but be happy. He moved his forehead to rest on hers, smilng down at her. "I love you too, Corliss. I'll stay as long as you need me." he whispered happily, kissing the bridge of her nose softly. His eyes wander back over to Avery, knowing they should do something before a teacher came. "Cor.. do.. do you want me to do it?" he whispering, hoping she would understand that he was wiling to do it for her, considering she had risked so much tonight anyways.
