"I will do," Kianthra smiled sweetly as the woman disappeared into the back room. Very polite, just as Narcissa would have wanted, maybe even a compliment from Lucius, although these were few and far between. Kianthra always wanted to prove herself to Narcissa and Lucius, as way of a thank you for taking her in when her parents were killed in the Battle of Hogwarts. They had spoiled her, yes spoiled being the correct word, she had everything she asked for. The sad thing was money couldn't buy you true friends, that's why she had always looked forward to Scorpius' visits. At least now she had a gang of friends, whom she could trust with her life if needs be.
Kianthra sat on the edge of the window-seat, looking at all the students passing by. Someone seemed to be running around with no head, until a Headless Hat became visible once more. She had to hand it to those Weasley twins, they knew their stuff. The only member she felt she had something in common with, well one of the twins had died in the Battle. Which one? She didn't know, they both looked identical. Her eyes shifted onto two students walking down the street, hand-in-hand. No doubt they would be going to the ball together. Kianthra sighed, why was it so that everyone had a date apart from her. Even Murray had a date, and let's face it he's one sandwich short of a picnic and not the best looker either. The minutes seemed to tick slowly by, as Kianthra watched students and shoppers rushing down the street.
Finally, she stood up and headed over to look at the masks and ribbons, which seemed to have been brought in especially for the masked ball. Each ribbon slipped through her fingers, colours of gold, silver and white seemed very popular choices as there were only a couple of ribbons remaining. The black, green and blue ribbons seemed to be in excess, the basket almost overflowing in a sea of dark swirling satin.
