Corliss walked out of the girls dorm. She looked around. It was semi- crowded. She found a seat near the fire. Corliss liked to sit by the fire. It made her feel safe and warm. The girl wore the normal Sunday afternoon attire, casual jeans and cotton shirt. The blond stretched her legs out. After three hours of studying, sitting Indian-style on your bed, leaves your legs rather tired. A laugh escaped her mouth as a spell shot across the room, hitting a very unlucky soul. Her laugh continued as the Second year girl's teeth began to grow. She smiled, a very rare thing if you aren't her friend. She tapped her wand on her thigh, daring a stupid First year to curse her.
Avery walked into the Common Room. He had just finished eating dinner, and he needed to get some studying done. He looked around the Common Room, and noticed several of his friends. He wanted so badly to go over there and mess around with them...but, he desperately needed to study. He kept on walking through the Common Room, and his friends waved to him, and yelled, "Hey, Avery! Come on, get over here man!" Avery waved back, and responded, "I can't. Don't have time! Got to study!" Avery shrugged his shoulders, and continued walking. Avery stopped suddenly when he noticed Corliss sitting by the fire provoking some first and second years. He spun, around quickly, hoping she didn't notice him. After they had been through lately, it would get pretty ugly. Avery started walking back to his friends, trying to be very quiet.
Corliss was watching the puny first year as Avery walked in. She didn't notice him until his friends called to him. She smirked darkly. Ever since that day in the library, with him asking forgiveness for dating her, from none other than Rosie Weasley, They had been not talked, save the stiff, hate filled 'hi' every so often. She grinned as he saw he and began to walk faster. She stood up and moved, rather cat like, go figure, across the room. She caught up with him about three meters from the staircase. She caught his shoulder, grasping him in her strong grip. "Ah. Hello, Bishop. How is your Gryffindor buddy doing? Oh and might I add, I don't like you thinking bad thoughts about the DE. It really irks me that you seem to be straying over to the NO's terms. Shame to see the Sorting Hat place you in the wrong house. I would like to see you with those low life lions, rather than with the superior Slytherin you stand with now." she said, overly sweet. It left a bad taste in her mouth to talk with this... This... This traitor. She glanced back at the First year who still looked as if she would send a curse over to the Slytherin beauty. She shot the girl a look before returning her attention to Bishop, waiting for his response.
Avery sucked in a breath as Corliss's hand pulled him around to face her. Oh boy, this is going to be fun Avery thought to himself with a negative attitude. He looked at Corliss, still feeling the love he had for her, even though she was treating him poorly. "Hello, Corliss." Avery began saying. "I don't think they placed me in the wrong house entirely. I could probably go in either Gryffindor, or Slytherin. I could either go in the DE, or the NO. If you would have stayed with me I would have belonged in Slytherin...in the DE. You see, I loved you. Even though we weren't together for a long period of time...I fell in love with you. I still am in love with you for that matter." Avery said his last sentence with dignity, and continued, "I wanted to make our relationship work, okay? I wanted to be with you, and be friends with Rosie. You see...Rosie, and I have been friends for a long time. Also, I wasn't asking for forgiveness from Rosie for necessarily dating you. Well, I was but not in the way you are thinking. I wasn't wanting to let go of you. I wanted to hang on to you. I was going to try to get Rosie to accept you as my girlfriend...which I knew was going to be hard, and take some time, but I knew I could make it happen. If it absolutely couldn't happen then I would still stay with you. I wasn't the one that ended our relationship." Avery looked at Corliss with hurt eyes. He had covered up his feelings since the library incident happened but now was the time to let some of them out.
Corliss wasn't effected by his speech. She laughed as he finished. Was he trying to make her feel bad for making the right decision? Oh well, Charlotte knew the truth, Avery Bishop was a traitor. She pointed a finger at him, her beautiful eyes filled with rage. "Oh, so now it is my fault? It is my fault you suck at being bad? You could never be a good DE member!" she spat, lifting the sleeve that covered the mark on her left arm. She looked as Avery's eyes lingered upon the amazing mark. She laughed smugly. "You see? See what you lost out on? Oh, and don't go on saying you loved me! You asked that loser of a Gryffindor to forgive you because she wants to be a 'good girl'! You know good and well that I would react badly when I found out about you two. A Gryffindor and a Slytherin? Are you out of your bloody mind, Bishop? I can't believe you would think that the Weasel could possibly accept that we were dating. Oh, yes I did love you. I did very much. That was the point. I could have made you a proud DE, but you to... to..." she said, balling her hands into fists, causing her knuckles to turn white in her confusion. Her eyes flashed soft as she looked at the boy she used to love. "Bishop, I really and truly thought you would know where you needed to be. Not with Rosie, with me and the rest of the Death Eaters. I... I don't think that you could really think Icould get alone with her." she whispered, her eyes going hard again. She place a hand on his chest, holding back the tears that begged to spill over her pretty face. She knew who she belonged with, a fellow Slytherin, a DE. Not this traitor. She looked over her shoulder, the only person who seemed interested on their conversation was that stupid first year girl and Bishop's idiot friends. "How could you even think you could be a DE if you can't cast a simple Unforgivable? Oh, would your tummy hurt it you watched someone thrash in pain? It isn't that bad. You know, in case Rosie didn't tell you, after I used that curse on her in the forest, she came back with Sectusempra. Do you know what that does? Do you know the pain I went through? Not to mention the other curse she sent, causing my torn skin to rip up in boils! Now do you think she a such a good girl? Potty and the Wolf used Unforgivables that night too! So, you think about that." she said, standing on her tippy-toes.
Avery looked at Corliss's mark on her left arm. Yes, it was amazing. He pulled his eyes away from the mark and looked back at Corliss, listening to her with a patient heart. Then he heard about Rosie using the Sectusempra on Corliss. His jaw tightened, and his hands turning into fists. God, that must have hurt Corliss so much. He wish he could have been there to be at her side. To protect her, and...and... he couldn't bear to think about what he might have done to Rosie (If he was there). Avery felt very angry, and upset. Avery shook his head, and put those emotions to the side. "Corliss, I can belong with you, and the DE. You let me go though. Because, I was friends with Rosie. I didn't want you to get along with Rosie...I just wanted you to accept her, as one of my friends. I did NOT ask her for forgiveness about dating you! I would never regret going out with you."

Corliss narrowed her blue green eyes. 'How can he lie to me like this? Accept the Weasley? How dare he think.....' she thought angrily. She stared at the boy standing there, lying to her. Her eyes widened as she pondered his words. "You? Belong with the DE? Belong with me? How dare you say that. I could belong with you. I could have stayed. If you would have been a good little Slytherin and stayed away from those brainwashing Gryffindors like you know too this wouldn't have ever happened. Why Bishop? Why would you really think I could accept that girl as your friend? How could you think she could accept me? I don't know what is going on in your head, but I doubt that could have worked. You know good and well it wouldn't have worked out." she said through her teeth. She looked up at the boy. Yes, she was small, but had that stopped her in the past? No, it hadn't, but something was telling her not to use the Unforgivable that was on the tip of her tongue. She sighed. "Avery, can't you understand that I come from a totally different world than her? If you are so much like her, why would you think I could handle that? If you want to be a DE, you can't be scared. You can't freak if you use an Unforgivable. There is no second guessing those kind of things. Yes, we would have been good together, but if you can't decide that you have the Death Eater blood running through your veins, how could we work? I am horrible for using Unforgivable like I do in your eyes, so how could that have worked? If you can't even stand using them on bugs, then being a DE id going to be hard. Do you see what I am saying? We are totally different people, Bishop." she said, her eyes growing slightly softer.
Avery ignored every other word Corliss had said, and spoke to her instead, "Corliss, I love you." Was all Avery could say. He didn't care anymore if she called him names, or treated him like crap. He loved her and nothing would change that. He was going to love her forever. "I know that we are different people, but that is the fun about us being together. I can find new things, in you, and I fall more in love with who you are. I wouldn't be able to stand to be with someone that is exactly like me. That's why I chose you." Avery looked at Corliss, passion burning in his eyes and off of his lips from the words he had just spoken.

Corliss watched Avery use his words to get to her. 'How are you doing this to me? How can I let you twist my feeling like this?' she asked Avery, know he wouldn't hear. Her eyes glistened with the tears begging to spill over. Any other time, if they were alone, the blond would have let the tears fall unhindered by her tough outer shell. She quickly blinked the tears away. She hadn't noticed the pain shooting through her feet until then. She had been on her tippy toes for some time now. She lowered herself back to the normal small height she was used to. "I'm telling you Bishop, if you are using me or toying with my emotions, this will be the end of you." he promised. she looked up at him. Then it hit her how short she really was. "So help me Avery, I will hate you if you do anything sly. I'm trusting you." she whispered, crossing her arms over the top of her stomach. She grinned her slightly smug, cute grin before looking over her shoulder back at the First Year girl. She saw the flick of her wrist just in time. "Expelliarmus!" she mumbled against her instincts. The girls wand flew back across the room. Corliss laughed. "What have I told those twits! They can't beat me!" she whispered.
Avery's heart formed again when he saw Corliss smile. He smiled at her, even though she wasn't looking. "Corliss, I am not lying to you, or toying with your feelings. I love you. Nothing will ever change that." He watched her with curious, and passionate eyes.

Corliss turned her body back to face Avery. She raised a perfect eyebrow at him. She grinned smugly at him. He was hers, no one else could have him. For the first time in her life, save one other person, Corliss felt like she was head over heels. She looked up, seeing his grin. "Well, that is good to know. If you ever did, that would not be wise, seeing as though I could totally take you down." she said, still smiling.
Avery chuckled at Corliss, and smiled at her. He looked at her, and cocked his head to the side. "You wanna go somewhere private? Where we won't be bugged?" Avery asked Corliss kindly, seeing as though some people were looking at them. There mood together had changed so fast. First they were yelling at each other, and now they were...were...in love. Not that they were never not.
Corliss took in the emotions on Avery face. She smiled as she thought about what had happened just then. Yelling had started the whole conversation. Now, they were, well, acting nice. Not yelling, not an ounce of anger in either one of their voices. She grinned at his question. "To talk? Of course. First years are so nosy. You can't seem to get away from them." she said, looking at the still stunned girl. Her wand still laying across the room. She sneered at her before looking back. "Where shall you be taking me Avery?" she asked.
Avery thought about what Corliss had asked him. Where was he going to take her? He had no idea. He was going to have to think of some place quick though. "Either my room, The Black Lake, The Forbidden Forest, or the Prefects Bathroom. You'll have to get us into the Prefects Bathroom though. I'll let you pick." Avery said patiently. He looked at Corliss and waited for her answer.

Corliss sighed. She looked around at the girls watching them. They seemed angry with her. Well, they were always angry with her. She gave them a smirk and looked back at Bishop. She crossed her left arm across her waist and tapped her pointer finger on her cheek. Corliss said nothing but gave Avery a wink and looked at the stairs. That wasn't an easy thing to do though. She had to lean around him.
