Name:
Gracie Lee Danes
Age:
Fifteen
Year:
Fifth
Blood:
Muggle-born
House:
Hufflepuff
Played By:
Elsie Enchanted
Appearance:
Though she prefers not to acknowledge the fact, as that would be pompous and narcisstic, this particular individual is a moderately pretty girl. Her thin, oval face is relatively attractive. Noticeable cheekbones, a long, sloping nose, and a rather large, constantly smiling mouth are just a few of the attributes that contribute monumentally to her childishly pretty face.
Thick hair covers her head, an evidently ordinary shade of light russet. She prefers to keep her hair out of the way in loose, messy buns, as well as relatively clean, although she’s really no stranger to dirt and grime, as she's an avid member of the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team and tends to get pretty dirty during practice and games.
One doesn’t see eyes like hers every day. Shaped like thick almonds and turned slightly upward at the corners, they make her look a tad bit animalistic, which balances the innocence in the rest of her face. Compared to the shape and obvious striking nature of her eyes, the color is rather drab. It’s a plain warm brown color, with hints of gold and darker browns should one look close enough. Other than the obvious simplicity of the color, there’s not much more to address in the eye department.
Though she doesn't like to admit it, Gracie's rather proud of the fact that most guys think she's got great legs. And that she does. Even if they're short due to her challenged nature in the height department, they're slender and quite shapely. But however attractive they may be, they're still not used to the idea of walking, and tend to twist around themselves, making it difficult for Gracie to get anywhere without a great deal of tripping and running into things and people.

Over All Personality:
Sweet, cheerful, and quirky would probably be the best words to describe such an endearing oddity as Miss Danes. This girl has a tendency to march to the beat of a different drummer, more so because she prefers her way to that of others rather than because she wants to stand out. However, one can’t help but love her bizarre take on intelligent conversation not to mention her charmingly awkward disposition.
Gracie believes in the power of smiling, as well as the notion that all the world’s problems could be solved if one could evoke happiness and love in evil-doers. Most people would call her simple-minded and naïve due to that fact, but she simply smiles those snarky comments away and continues to be the optimistic girl that she is. Her main goal in life is to commit as many random acts of kindness as she can before she dies, and has taken up the habit of hugging people upon meeting them, as well as greeting acquaintances with a well-placed and very cuddly hug. After all, in her opinion, all that the great and terrible Lord Voldemort needed was a hug. The same goes for Charlotte Crenge. Though she hasn't yet had the chance to hug the girl, she plans to the next time she gets a chance.

History:
Gracie Lee Danes was born into a Muggle family in the late days of the month of March. She was a happy, bubbly child, nurtured and loved by her two older brothers, who played with her constantly and taught her the ways of life in the lovely, sunny lands of Scotland. They shielded the little girl from her angry, fighting parents, who tended to lash out at their children when stressed out. Though her mother never hit her, her father had a tendency to get drunk when he and his wife had had a particularly gruesome fight, and when he'd had a few, he became unpredictable and tended to get in physical fights with her brothers. Being the peace activist that she was, even at that age, Gracie had a habit of trying to break up the fights, from which she still has a few ugly scars, which she tries her best to cover up.
The summer after her eleventh birthday, she received a letter in the post, which called her to a school called Hogwarts. However, her parents demeaned the letter as fake, and refused to respond or acknowledge its existence until the school sent one of its teachers to the Danes household to collect Gracie, bring her shopping, and then finally drop her off at Platform Nine and Three Quarters.
The girl was sorted into Hufflepuff the moment the Sorting Hat touched her head. As she'd never been exceedingly bright, was as cowardly as they came, and couldn't have been cunning if her life depended on it, she didn't exactly fit into any of the other Houses. Naturally, she fit in quite nicely, and decided to start up the R.A.O.K. Club (Random Acts Of Kindness Club), of which she's the leading and only member. Dispersing hugs and happiness all around the school, she's completed five out of her seven years at Hogwarts, and is eager and ready for the remaining two.
