The Basics
Name: Noelle Canard
Age: Seventeen
Year: Seventh
Blood: Muggleborn
House: Hufflepuff
I solemnly swear I am up to no good
Appearance
Image:
Celebrity: Blake Lively
Looks: Noelle is remarkably similar to her mother, both in looks and personality. The witch has long, golden hair that is identical to her mother’s locks. More wavy than curly, Noelle sometimes has a trouble keeping it from frizzing out, especially in the summer. She is fond of drawing on it, often coloring a rainbow on thick chunks of hair. Noelle also inherited her eyes from her mother; small but with a bright hazel hue. They are almost always crinkled up in laughter, as well as her wide, somewhat thin mouth. Noelle has a long, rather Roman face, with that characteristic large nose.
At 5 feet and 8 inches, Noelle tends to look down on most girls. However, if anyone can look and act cute at 5”8, it’s Noelle. She never looms over anyone on purpose; that would be against her philosophy. Instead, Noelle tries to use her height to help others, even if it’s something as simple as grabbing a book from a high shelf for someone who cannot reach. Noelle is quite willowy, with few curves and long legs.
Noelle’s style is quite unpredictable – one day she might wear a plain tee with sneakers, the next it’s a sundress and high heels. As for the Hogwarts uniform, she only wears it when required; the dull, boring colors offend Noelle. The only aspect of Noelle’s style that remains constant is her love of color; the witch would wear the rainbow if she could! She also loves jewelry, and most of the pieces that she wears are of her own make.

Over All Personality: Noelle is very idealistic, to the point where she cannot stand knowing about the hate and tragedy in the world. As such, it is difficult for her to get to really know people, as most have darker secrets and problems that would distress Noelle. If there is anything that bothers Noelle, it’s sadness. The witch refuses to stand for it, a weakness that will probably come back to haunt her at a later date.
To Noelle, charms and jewelry come together perfectly. She is quite adept at casting simple charms, and often practices on her jewelry. In her fourth year Noelle discovered this to be a rather profitable mini-business, though Noelle prefers to give out the jewelry for free rather than be paid for her work. The witch also loves candy, and it’s a wonder she isn’t as big as a house by now. Perhaps that is because Noelle is ridiculously active, rarely staying in any place for longer than she has to. This trait ties in with her constantly changing appearance, from hair to clothes. She is incredibly unpredictable and spontaneous, and as a result it is rather difficult to follow her train of thought.
Heavily influenced by a family friend, Noelle is an avid subscriber to the Quibbler, and will occasionally spurt out random facts to anyone who will listen. Unfortunately, those that don’t appreciate Noelle’s little tidbits often talk about her behind her back, and referred to her as “The Quack.” The witch is unaware of this unflattering nickname, and probably wouldn’t believe it even if she heard it. She loves both people and animals, and has been taking Care of Magical Creatures ever since it was allowed. Noelle is very cheerful and bright, known by her teachers to work diligently in class. She genuinely likes learning and working hard, whether it be for class or while designing jewelry.
History
Parents:
Howard Canard – Muggle – 50, Accountant
Matilda (neé Forester) Canard – Muggle – 49, Artist
Siblings: Only child
Family History:
Howard Canard never really expected to be much of anybody, hailing from a poor rural town as he did. He had okay grades, went to an okay university, and landed an okay job as an accountant. Howard rarely dated or even socialized with friends that much. He worked on holidays and seldom took sick days. This utterly lackluster lifestyle did provide him with a tidy sum of money in the bank, and Howard was frugal enough not to spend it wastefully. Secretly though, Howard wished he was different, more interesting and likeable. But most of all, he wished there was someone out there that could love him; rescue him from the hole he had managed to dig himself into. Howard had no idea that fate was about to grant his wish, in a way more spectacular than he could have ever dreamed of.
Matilda Forester was an American immigrant to England, her decision to move there just another one of her whims. Matilda was everything Howard was not – vibrant, outgoing, and happy. Despite being utterly broke, Matilda made the most of her situation, exploring the streets of London and generally making a splash wherever she went. It was by chance that the two met, introduced to each other by a mutual friend. This mutual friend would be an integral part of the family’s life well after Howard and Matilda married and moved to a comfortable flat in London.
Howard and Matilda, polar opposites though they were, clicked together like two pieces of a puzzle. Two years after their marriage began, Noelle Canard was born.
Self History:
Noelle Canard was always close to her parents, and the three formed a very tight bond that remains unwavering. Also to form a close friendship with Noelle was the woman who introduced Howard and Matilda, Luna Lovegood. During Noelle’s younger years Luna would give the little girl copies of the Quibbler, believing that once Noelle was older, she’d dismiss it all as fantasy. Noelle absolutely adored the magazine, watching the pictures move about seemed like sheer magic to the young girl. Little did Luna know, Noelle’s little peek into the wizarding world was about to become an integral part of her life.
Around the age of four strange occurrences just seemed to happen around Noelle, from flying saucepans to dancing teddy bears. Howard and Matilda felt that they could confide in only one person about the unusual events – their friend Luna. The older witch knew immediately what Noelle was, though it did take her a while to convince the Muggle family. This secret brought Luna and the Canards even closer, and she was like a second mother to Noelle. And so Noelle grew up learning about the magical world, and greatly excited for her eventual entry to Hogwarts.
Noelle was in her element in Hogwarts, the years only getting better as they passed by. Noelle has a plethora of friends, though only a few could ever call themselves close to her. As a fourth year Noelle began making and giving out her charmed jewelry, and occasionally made a bit of cash from those with special requests. This eventually paid for her apparition lessons in her sixth year, a Ministry course that cost twelve galleons. Now in her seventh and final year at Hogwarts, Noelle is determined to make the best of it.
