The Basics
Name: Maxwell Gregory Carter (Max)
Age: Sixteen
Year: Sixth
Blood: Half
House: Gryffindor
{i solemnly swear that I am up to no good.}
Appearance
Celebrity: The lovely William Beckett of The Academy Is…
Looks:
Maxwell is easily recognizable from his height; he had always been the tall one in school, and now at the tender age of sixteen he is already quite lofty, elevated at six feet and three inches. With that being said, he also is lanky, weighing in at one-hundred and twenty pounds. No, he is not sick, and no he does not spend hours exercising to trim his waistline; it’s just genetics. He has long since gotten over the fact that he has to duck under some of the lower thresholds, and has made a joke out of it. He now accepts his almost awkward physique, no longer feeling like a puppy too small for his paws.
Another characteristic of Max’s is his thick mop of sable-colored hair. It points in every direction, so the only product he’ll bother putting on it is gel. It is rarely sullied, seeing as his mother had implanted some sort of obsessive-compulsive idea in his head, making him want to wash it constantly. He’s found that the handful of girls has has dated over the years find it quite enjoyable to run their fingers through the forest of tresses on his head, and now he can’t get enough of the sensation; thus, you will find him constantly running a hand through it or curling it around one of his fingers when bored or frustrated.
And what does Maxwell view the world through? Well, striking brown eyes, of course! They are rounded and an almost blunt feature on his face, but nonetheless they have a uniqueness about them. Many emotions can be reflected in them, almost like a mirror. He makes no effort to hide what he is feeling, so in case you were wondering, just take a look into those bad boys and you’ll be informed. Thick brunette eyelashes frame these beautiful eyes of his, only giving their roundness a bit more emphasis. Right above them are his eyebrows, which match the color of his hair.
Max was always ragged on about his almost vampire-like complexion. Yes, he is pale. Yes, he goes out in the sun. No, he does not feed on the blood of others. He is Irish, hence the pale skin. He is also a mixture of a few other nationalities, none of which he believes has the tanned skin trait. In case you are concerned, both of his brothers, his mother, his father, and his grandparents and so on all are very white, so no need to have him visit the Hospital Wing.
So, if you were to summarize Max’s appearance in three words, they would most definitely be tall, skinny and pale. Enough said.

Over All Personality:
Maxwell has never been the kind of person to express his feelings through words, though he does wear his heart on his sleeve. If he’s feeling upset, he’ll keep it inside until the opportunity to vent comes up. However, keeping things bottled up for too long lead to disastrous events, such as physical fights or venomous tongue-lashings. He has been known to break a bone or two while kicking something or punching one of the castle’s stone walls, which land him in the Hospital Wing and/or the Headmaster’s office. Some students fear him for these reasons, because they only see the bad rather than the good. And, well, what kind of judgment is that?
Aside from the temperament issues, Max can be quite the gentleman. He also has a good sense of humor, and if anyone pokes fun at him he can take it pretty well (But don’t mock his friends, unless you’d like to unlock the beast mentioned in the first paragraph). He loves animals of all kinds, probably more than he likes people, which reveals a bit more of his sensitive side. Though his outbursts of gentleness and compassion are sparse and few, it does let people know that he does in fact have a good heart.
History
Parents: Melinda Carter (Hanes) and Markus Carter
Siblings: Michael Carter (Third year) and Mitchell Carter (Third year)
Family History:
The Carter family has been run by the letter ‘M’ for quite some while, tracing back to great-grandparents. The fact that Markus Carter had married Melinda Hanes was a happy accident. Markus had come from an ancient pureblood family, and though Melinda was a muggle, the Carters seemed to be very accepting of their son’s decision. They had waited until they were in their early thirties to have Maxwell, who had been the apple of their eyes. They spoiled him rotten, loved him dearly, and provided him with a good home and decent childhood. When the twins, Michael and Mitchell were born, the same cycle continued.
Maxwell, Mitchell and Michael grew up in a muggle-based home, not really understanding magic until they were ten years old and preparing to receive their letters from Hogwarts. Melinda was a strict mother who taught her boys to be polite and to be perfect gentleman. Let me tell you, those boys never got away with anything—Melinda didn’t need magic to have the tell-tale ‘eyes on the back of her head.’
Self History:
Maxwell had an easy childhood with his brothers, never having to worry about much. He attended a muggle school until he was ready to go to Hogwarts, learning the very basics of muggle life and then continuing brief study when he went home on Holiday and Summer vacations. He likes to keep up with the world outside that of a wizard’s.
The only downside was that Max, Mike and Mitch had been severely bullied as kids, and during fifth grade one year there was a severe fight between the Carter boys and the Johnson boys. It involved broken noses, wrists, hands and arms, and lots of blood. It all started when David Johnson, the eldest of the Johnsons, said a nasty comment about Michael’s dyslexia, and it all went down-hill from there. It showed everyone at their school that Maxwell Carter was not afraid to throw the first punch (or the last, for that matter) and it also was one of the first signs of Max’s behavioral issues. The most memorable thing that had happened was that even as the principal told Max to help David up from the ground, Max had retaliated by stomping on the seventh-grader’s face.
