As the daughter of a very small giant and a very short witch, Brooke's height is a comparatively normal 6'9"; both her height and her genetically broad bone structure have also been inhibited by malnutrition. She has very pale skin, almost white, and very long brown hair.
She has a low, broad jaw with cavernous cheekbones. Her eyes are hauntingly black: often kind, quick to anger. Her thin eyebrows are sharply arched. She is dangerously thin.

As a half-giant, she became self-conscious and quick to take offence from an early age. As a result, she conceals an acute shyness of meeting new people; only her close friends realise this, so thoroughly does she cover it.
Her mother's vicious bigotry is still a chip on her shoulder, but it helped her gain a fierce, almost defiant independence.
Hagrid instilled in her a love of animals, and her half-giant genes ensured that she shared his fondness for the more violent ones.

"Frankly, I find it a bit difficult to talk about my family history, as I wasn't raised by either of my parents, and, despite trying to contact them both, they are determined to pretend I never existed. I guess its because my parents were never really a couple, because ... well, basically, my mother, having suffered deservedly at the hands of the centaurs of the Forbidden Forest, returned, determined to exact revenge on the "filthy half-breeds" (her words, not mine!). Instead, she came across Grawp. Uncle Hagrid had been trying to teach him about human romantic relationships so he could find a nice girlfriend, but unfortunately, when my mother stumbled across him, he still retained a sadly limited grasp of social convention, and, in her words (as she put it to Professor McGonagall), "he took advantage".

Hated by her mother, she was raised primarily by Professor McGonagall in a small cottage on the outskirts of Hogsmeade. She spent a great deal of time amongst the locals, and her Uncle Hagrid frequently brought her to his hut for tea.
From a young age, other children in Hogsmeade teased her about her astonishing height and unusual width. When she was eight, she suddenly started dieting severely, to the great alarm of the adult wizards. Nothing they said or did could dissuade her. Once she stopped growing, she started eating enough to avoid the formerly frequent fainting fits, but she is still thin.
