The Basics
Name: Odette Stonewood
Age: Sixteen
Year: Sixth
Blood: Half-blood
House: Ravenclaw
I solemnly swear I am up to no good
Appearance

Celebrity: Allison Scagliotti
Looks: Odette is pretty average for her age, both in looks and height. Her hair, a reddish-brown mixture, has a strip of blue streaked down on one side. Odette’s eyes are brown, light enough that they have sometimes been confused with hazel. They are also very steady and rarely reflect her emotions. Odette has an arched nose, quite Roman in some respects. A direct gene from her father, he would always remark on how strong noses gave faces ‘character’. Odette’s not really much of a believer in that philosophy. Her mouth, though normal in most regards, is quite pale, leading Odette to use a rosy tinted lip-gloss so she doesn’t resemble death. This is about the extent of her make-up routine.
Odette isn’t particularly athletic; her slim figure is maintained by a fastidious diet and the occasional walk along the lake. Spending much of her time indoors has resulted in pale skin for the young witch, rarely tanned even in the summer.

Over All Personality:
Upon receiving her acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Odette immediately knew which house she wanted. Ravenclaw, Odette knew, would be the only place where she would flourish. Odette is a very driven young witch, with a sharp intellectual talent dedicated to education. She is also quite handy with the computer, preferring to spend her free time upgrading and reconfiguring the machine. Unfortunately, Hogwarts didn’t allow Odette to bring along her computer; a sore point with the witch.
Odette is resistant to change. She still wears the same shirts she bought five years ago, still uses the same computer (with her own little upgrades, of course). The only realm in which change is welcome is the world of academics, where Odette eagerly awaits the latest breakthroughs. The wizarding world represents change, a change from the safe, normal Muggle life she used to live. And for that, Odette sees Hogwarts as simply a place where she lives and learns. Nothing more, nothing less.
Not one for small talk, Odette has been labeled antisocial and introverted. This is not quite the case. She has no problems with talking to others, so long as they don’t bore her. Fellow Ravenclaws are often the only ones who provide stimulating conversation, without the complaints about guys and classes that other students often drivel over. When those kinds of subjects come up, Odette's biting sarcasm comes out, and usually this wards off the last of any potential friends.
Sometimes, though, when someone makes a special effort to get to know the person behind the sarcasm and aloof demeanor, they find a warmer, slightly goofier Odette. She can be unexpectedly sweet to those who have gained her trust, respect, and loyalty.
Although she doesn't believe in labels, Odette knows that she fits the stereotypical loner profile to a tee. In her waking hours, she tells herself that's perfectly alright, because schoolwork and good grades are all that matter. Despite her self-assurance, however, in her dreams she always feels so... lonely. And on a subconscious level, it's hurting more and more. Not that she'll ever admit it, of course, and by looking at her one would never think anything might be wrong.
History
Parents:
Harold Stonewood – 47 – Muggle chemist professor
Penelope (née Renfield) Stonewood – 44 – Witch
Siblings:
Evelyn Stonewood – 20 – Muggle half-sister
Aaron Stonewood – 10 – Brother
Family History:
Harold Stonewood
Born and raised in a normal Muggle family, Harold always had a passionate interest in science, particularly chemistry. He earned and received his masters in chemistry from Oxford. During his time in grad school, Harold met and fell in love with Lucy Johnson, a fellow chemist buff. They had a quick courtship, and within a year of their wedding Evelyn was born. Unfortunately, the two hadn’t anticipated the difficulties that came with maintaining full-time jobs with a newborn. Two years after their marriage began, it ended. Divorced and supporting Evelyn, Harold worked day and night to make everything work out. Finally landing a job as a professor at Oxford, Harold was able to take some time off. When he met Penelope, Harold had no idea what she was. He learned a year later, while proposing to her. If anything, that made Harold love Penelope even more. They married and had Odette, then Aaron six years later. Harold couldn’t be prouder that his daughter is a student at Hogwarts, where he believes she will do great things in the future.
Penelope Stonewood
A half-blood witch like her daughter, Penelope Renfield was born in a small village just outside London. She knew about magic from an early age, and spent all of her formative years studying to be prepared for Hogwarts. In the end it paid off, with Penelope receiving top marks in every subject and going on to work in a prominent position in the Ministry of Magic. Her career there ended a few years after it begun, due to some sort of scandal that forced her to resign. She never spoke of it to her family, choosing to start over upon marrying Harold Stonewood. Penelope thought she had put the wizarding world behind her until Odette began showing signs of magical talent. When Odette was nine years old, Penelope put aside her grudge against the Ministry and told Odette about her world, hoping to prepare her for it. It was with misgivings that she sent her daughter to Hogwarts, but with Aaron preparing for his years at the school, Penelope has decided to let go of her bitterness and allow the wizard world to be a part of her life again.
Evelyn Stonewood
A Muggle like her father, Evelyn had a little trouble accepting that her new mother, Penelope, was a witch. However, she soon realized that Penelope was a better mother than her own biological one would ever be, and came to love Penelope. When Evelyn was four, Odette was born. They were as close as two peas in a pod, even when Odette started brewing miniature hurricanes when she was angry and order the brooms to start dancing when she was happy. They drifted apart when Odette began attending Hogwarts, but since then Evelyn has made a concentrated effort to reestablish their bond, though this is made difficult by Evelyn’s numerous classes at Oxford, where she’s studying pediatrics.
Self History:
As Odette only learned about the magical world when she was nine, the two years she spent preparing were carried out almost entirely in her room, studying. Odette was always a precocious girl, and she eagerly read any tomb her mother could give her. She also researched Hogwarts intensely, hoping that her hours of learning would best prepare her for life in the school. As it turned out, first years weren’t expected to know much, especially those who came from Muggle families. Though slightly disappointed, Odette still maintained her high standards for her classes, constantly striving for top marks. Unfortunately, this did not leave much time for making friends like most first years were doing. Odette was noted by her professors to be a bright girl, like her mother (by the older teachers, in any case).
Odette’s second, third, fourth, and fifth years passed by in a similar fashion to her first – mostly preoccupied with studying and attending as few Quidditch games as possible. Her fifth year was particularly intense, due to the stress of OWLs at the end of the year. Odette needn't have worried though; she earned 11 OWLs with good marks. She knows that her sixth year will bring many changes, from learning how to teleport to practicing nonverbal spells. The Triwizard Tournament also interests Odette a great deal, and she hopes to either compete or watch. Being the model Ravenclaw that she is though, Odette looks forward to the new challenges.
