It was quiet as a small, almost hesitant figure huddled at the edge of the clearing. The figure jumped as the wind rustled, making the deserted area seem more creepy than it had before.
And to Miss Vikki, it was definetley creepy! The blonde was terrified of spiders, but she had a reputation to uphold. A reputation that had been challenged by a fifth year. By Mister Lance Green.
It had been simple. Victoire had been walking down the hall way, when she over heard a discussion between a group of fifth years. It seemed that one of the girls had seen a ten-foot spider while exploring the clearing, something the others believed. Surely, this girl was popular in her year.
And, Vikki, being the eavesdropper she was, had to point out, that the clearing was deserted. Whihc had led to some unfavorable shout outs, and then a dare to come here, and find out for herself. Victoire couldn't resist a dare, and Mr. Green knew that.
So, here she was, searching for a hopefully mythical creature, wand drawn, and scared out of her mind.
I hate spiders

[Corliss Malfoy]

The news of Victorie Weasley going to the clearing to look for an over sized spider had spread rather quickly among the Slytherins. Of course, no one in their right mind would want to go watch, expect a certain Sixth Year named Corliss Malfoy. Of course she would want to see the girl freak out. She hadn't gone to the clearing to fight, no that was the last thing from her mind. She went to watch the Weasley girl freak out. It wasn't one of her best ideas, but she said she was going.
So, at that moment, Corliss was making her way down to the spot she had been informed Vikki was going to be. She went extra early so she could hide out in the forest. She hugged her black trench coat tighter as the cold wind hit her harder. 'Oh Corliss, Corliss, Corliss.....' she kept repeating in her head. Her teeth chattered softly as she tried so very hard to stay warm.
Then, to her great pleasure, she saw the girl coming, wand drawn. She waited until the girl had been standing there for quite a while before making her appearance. She stepped out from the sheltered forest to look at the back of the girl. "Why, hello, Miss Weasley." she whispered in a hard voice. She had been smart and drawn her wand before hand to prevent any unwanted attacks.

Holding back a scream, as an unepected voice reached her ears, Victoire spun around, her eyes searching for the familliar voice. "Corliss, what are you doing here?" She snapped, her wand pointed at the other girl. "You come to see the Weasley face down a ten-foot spider?" She asked, harsh sarcasim in her voice. The kind that made most people wince. "Or, do you enjoy freezing to death in the middle of the woods?"
Her wand stayed pointed, and she quickly nonverbally casted Protego, just to be safe.

Corliss held her hands up like she was surrendering. "Hold up, Weasley. I was wondering through the woods like I do all the time." she laughed, banishing her wand before continuing in a soft voice. "I didn't come to fight. Promise." The girl smiled, an unsure smile before crossing her arms across the chest. Vikki looked as if you weren't fooled. "Oh come on! Do you honestly think I would come anywhere near a huge spider? I'm not scared of them, no, I just don't want to be near one." she reasoned, shrugging her shoulders. "Now will you please put your wand away?"

Watching the Malfoy for any hints of lying, Victoire stuck the wand back in her boot. Her bright blue eyes stared back into Corliss's, and she was doing her best to remain strong, despite her overwhelming Arachnophobia.
Her hand was wrapped around her body, and she was a little nervous about Corliss being here. "Everytime a Slytherein goes into the woods, someone get cursed. With an unforgiviable. How am I supposed to trust you not to do the same to me"
Didn't Corliss curse Rosie? I think it was before she started trying to be nice to her. Ugh, of all the people I wouldn't wanna be searching the woods for a giant spider with, Corliss is pretty high up there.

Corliss smirked at the terrified girl in front of her. "Not every time. I go in there most every night." she laughed. She held Vikki's gaze and didn't let it drop. "I bet you don't believe me, but I'm not lying. Just practicing in the woods. Its what I do." she teased, holding her hands up again in the same 'I won't curse you' manner.

"Practicing?" She asked suspiciously. Unforgivables, and other things. Of course she's practicing
Back to the spider matter. "What are you going to do if I do see spiderzilla?" She asked, an eyebrow raised. "I don't care if you don't attack the spider, but if that thing comes after me, I'd like to be able to fight it without worrying about getting stunned when my back is turned."
It was so obvious that she shouldn't do anything while the snake was here. She could get killed. Though, Victoire had to admit that she could've gotten killed without the help of Miss Malfoy. "And, are you alone. I don't think that Kianthra could be able to resist stunning me, and allowing a spider to eat me. That's still considered murder, you know"
