A blur ran from the grounds, a girl panting came from the direction of the Black Lake. Cromz, a.k.a. Lydia, was down there after classes had ended. It'd only been the second or third time she'd been down there, with homework and general...circumstances in the way. The day had been sunny and warm, surprisingly so for a day of gloomy classes. So naturally the first year went down for some fresh air, and a fresh mind. Unfortunately, in the process of relaxing, Lydia fell asleep on the grass. When she woke up, it was practically dark.
Now the Hufflepuff had to get back to the common room before she was missed, or worse, caught. Her blonde hair that had previously been in a messy sort of bun was now falling out; random strands blew in the breeze she created.

Kianthra was walking slowly up the corridor, on patrol, as part of her prefect duties. Late night patrol was Kia's least favourite, nothing ever happened, no first years to bully and an eerie silence around the castle. The lack of noise was peaceful, but still Kia saw no point in patrolling the halls this late. After all, who would be out this late? Her brother yes, but he would take care not to be caught. All students were in their common rooms or dormatories, well supposed to be. There were always a few who thought they were above the rules. The worst were first years, oh how she detested them, especially the ones who broke curfew. Miller was also on patrol but she hadn't seen him since they had met on the third floor one hour previously. That was one side of prefect duty, no one to talk to, no one to plan future attacks on the NO, just silence and the occasional ghost floating through a wall.
At this moment, Kianthra was walking past the painting of the fruit bowl, heading towards the entrance hall away from the Hufflepuff Common Room. Unfortunately for anyone spotted breaking curfew, Kianthra wasn't in the best of moods. In fact, she was in a terrible mood, mainly due to Duros thinking he was better than the Death Eaters. Someone needs to remind him of his position.
It was at this moment, when Kianthra heard hurried footsteps growing louder. They couldn't belong to a teacher, so that must mean a student was out of bounds. She paused in the corridor, just hidden by the corner. She waited, arms crossed, for the rule-breaker come into view. Ah, a first year she thought as Lydia rounded the corner.
"What do you think you're doing, Cromwell?"
