Beep! The alarm to wake Taya up for breakfast sounded. "Ughhhh!" Taya moaned in anger as she was trying to wake herself up. She stood up out of her bed and walked to the sink in her bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face with the wash cloth. She opened up the cabinet and got a emerald green wash cloth with a golden 'S' on it and her soap. Taya turned on the water, putting the wash cloth under the water to get it wet. Taya rubbed the soap onto the wash cloth, cleansing her face with it. Finally, Taya finished washing her face and she brushed her teeth. Now was the time to put her makeup on. She got out her makeup bag and began putting on her powder, eyeliner, and mascara. Taya walked to her closet and pulled out her Slytherin rope to wear down to The Great Hall. After putting her rope on, Taya strolled over to her nightstand and opened the drawer, pulling out her grandmother's Slytherin House necklace. She wrapped the necklace around her neck, latching it to the hook.

Taya looked down, at her grandmother's necklace and put her hand on her heart. She closed her eyes remembering her grandmother. She remembered she was only nine years old when her grandmother passed on. It took Taya years to get over her grandmother's death. She still isn't over it today, but she tries to stay strong. She remembers playing with her dolls one day and her mom and dad came in teary eyed, saying, "Taya.. It's your grandma."

[/color] Taya remembers her not coming out of her room for what it seemed like ages. The only thing left she had of her grandma was this necklace. It is the only thing that is keeping her memory alive. Taya sniffled, letting a single tear fall down her cheek. She wiped away her teary filled eyes and redid her eyeliner, so no one could tell she had been crying. Taya looked at herself in the mirror, showing her dimples, and walked out of the door.

Taya arrived at The Great Hall approximately two minutes after leaving her dorm. Taya walked to the Slytherin table, seeing all the food; porridge, rolls, orange juice, kippers, eggs and bacon, toast, buttered toast with jam, and corn flakes. 'Yum!' Taya thought to herself, her stomach now growling. Taya saw her cousin, Corliss Malfoy sitting down by herself and she decided to go sit next to her. Taya strolled down the aisle, finally to make her way over to her cousin. "Hey Corliss! How are you?!"[/color] Taya look at Corliss with a huge grin on her face. Taya had not seen her cousin in a while and she was very happy to see her.[/center][/size]

Of course, the one day when Corliss planned to sleep in a tad bit later, she woke up two hours early. She hadn't been having her nightmares anymore, so she hadn't a clue as to why she was waking up so early. None the less, she had struggled with going back to sleep. She gave up the effort much to fast. She had gone to the Prefects bathroom to wash up, again. All the smart people were still snoring in their four poster beds, while Miss Malfoy was scrubbing her hair. Yes, she had taken a bath the previous night, but, being as bored as she was, that was the only thing that could calm her down.
After putting on her sliver and green flannel pants and hooded sweat shirt, the Slytherin girl ran back to the common room. She walked slowly up the stairs, entering the room quietly. She glanced at the clock. 'Great! Only a mere thirty minuets has passed!' she though, outraged. She sat down in front of the cherry wood vanity her parents had given her, looking at her dry hair. Sighing, she began to straighten it. She looked at the perfectly straight, blond hair. She nodded to herself. That had only taken around fifteen minuets to accomplish.
She applied her powder, eyeshadow and mascara in a flash, leaving her looking perfectly beautiful for school. She felt perfect in every way. She looked at the time, it was getting close to when she was 'supposed' to get up. She traded her PJ's for her black robes. She fixed the Slytherin logo so it was perfect. Putting on her simple black kitten heels, she walked to her bed. She sat down, looking at the little table sitting next to it. Her sliver ring her parents had given her was there, next to it was her wand. She slid the silver snake shaped ring on her left pointer finger. She put her hand out, admiring the shimmering ring. As she hid the wand in the folds of her robs, one of the other girls woke. She smiled and walked out of the room.
Corliss walked slowly to the Great Hall. What was the point of waiting there of hours? When she walked in, there were far more people than planned. Well, not at the Slytherin table. She made her way through the First Years, cursing them at random. On of the little boys actually looked as if he were going to cry. The thought brought a smug look to her pretty face. Corliss sat down, retrieving a glass of pumpkin juice and a slice of toast. She smiled as the liquid slivered down her throat. She took a bit, looking around. 'Tasty.' she thought.
It hadn't been very long when she heard a familiar voice. 'Hey Corliss! How are you?' She sighed, looking up at the face of her cousin. 'Why did Mum have to have a sister?' she asked herself. No, she wasn't overly close to Taya, but they weren't best friends the way she and Niki were. She gave her a faint smile before replying. "Hello, Taya. I'm fantastic, and you?" she said, her voice soft. She wasn't in the mood for all the yelling First Years. She looked at one of the pests as she pasted. She yelped as the fair Slytherin sent a simple curse at her. She laughed softly. "Stupid girl." she muttered.

It seemed to Taya that Corliss wasn't in a happy mood today, like she normally is. 'I wonder what's wrong?' Taya and Corliss weren't the closest, like some cousins, but they were at least friends. "I am great. Thank you for asking. Are you okay? You don't seem very happy. No offense."

[/color] Taya hoped that what she just told Corliss would not offend her. Taya just wanted to check on her cousin and make sure everything is alright. Taya grabbed a peice of burnt toast and started chewing. 'This taste horrible! I hate burnt toast!' Taya rolled her eyes at the piece of half eaten, burnt up toast and faced toward Corliss, waiting patiently for an answer. [/center][/size]

Corliss watched the girl who was now sitting next to her. You could see in her eyes she was not in a good mood. It was the best idea to ask Corliss why she was angry. " Oh, I'm just pissed at the First years as always. Oh, and I hate lying. Just stop acting like you care." she hissed, eyes ablaze. She gritted her teeth, watching the girl. "Tay, I'm just angry. Y'know how it is." she whispered. The girl should know how Corliss was when she was angry. She said things she didn't mean.
