Fury beyond rage. He had never wanted to hurt someone so much in his life as he had before, and considering the guy was his Quidditch Captain, leader of the New Order, and more importantly best friend didn't even seem to matter anymore. He was a man on a mission, ready to go and hunt the guy who had hurt Lily Potter, the girl who was pretty much and younger sister to him's feelings. And that may seem to be a bit childish, but in this circumstance, Zane had what was coming to him.

Lily had run into the Common Room. It was a Hogsmead weekend, and it was the first Ted decided not to go, the first one since his third year where he was aloud to go. He had been reading a book, or at least pretending to, when Lily had burst through the portal. There was only a first year or two sitting around so Ted jumped out of his seat on the couch and over to her. Although they still really hadn't talked about the night, Ted was Lily's big brother, and it hurt to see her hurt. Once he had her calmed down enough, Lily explained that she had saw Zane and Rosie in the tea shop down in Hogsmead. This caused Ted to tense, that was a spot for couples mostly. Then Lily explained that she felt the place had the same meaning and spied on the two. She had lost it when her cousin rested her head on her boyfriend's shoulder and he hugged her into his side, whispering something to her.

That's what set Ted off. There were two things he was pissed at Zane for one. One, being the fact that he had hurt Lily. James and Ted had ganged up on him the night he told them, Ted jokingly but James more seriously. Ted was like the cool older brother while James, even though Zane was his best friend, did not like the idea of his sister dating at all. They had made Zane promise that if he ever hurt Lily, he would have to take the beating from both Ted and James. Zane agreed, thinking he'd allow the beating perfectly. The second factor that concerned Ted more was the fact Zane had been in the tea shop with Rosie. He was pissed at both of them for that fact. That had been Ted and Rosie's 'spot' per say. It was where he took her on their first official date after the dance. Although they both agreed they preferred the Three Broomsticks more, they would go to the tea shop for their anniversaries and special occasions. And Zane. It had only been a few nights since Ted had told Zane and James how miserable he was without her, how much he loved her and wanted her back. How could Zane do this to him? How could he turn his back on his best friend? Is that why they broke up? Because Zane was in the picture?

Ted stormed through the hallways, ready to storm down to Hogsmead and break the happy couple a part from one another. He shivered in his mind, thinking of how he could catch them snogging. But it would seem he wouldn't have to go as far, because as he was passing the library, Zane Lestrange walked into view. Ted clenched his teeth, felt his hair stand up on end as it grew a darker red with rage. He saw a few first years out of the corner of his eyes, some running away knowing better while others stayed and watched. Well they'd certainly be getting a show. "Zane." Ted spat at his ex-best friend.

Zane had a lot on his mind as he walked back up to the castle. He and Rosie had gone for a coffee so that she could talk to him about everything that had happened in the past few days. She was lonely and it seemed that Zane had been the only one to notice and had, therefore, offered a shoulder for her to cry on. They had talked about everything, especially the night when she had seen Ted and Lily. That had been particularly difficult, but still they had perservered, finally reaching the end, when they had conviently run out of coffee. He had held her close whilst she had sobbed into his shoulder, whispering that everything would be ok and that everything would work out in the end.

He had left the village far behind now and had just entered the castle grounds. Hnads in his pockets he trudged up to the castle, kicking the small clumps of leaves that rested along the path. They swirled around and around before returning to the ground once more, reunited with those that had stayed on the cold ground. He shuddered slightly as the warmth of the castle washed over him, instantly returning the feeling to his fingers. Zane began to climb the stairs slowly, not really taking any notice of anyone around him or where his feet were taking him.

He walked slowly past the library, almost walking into his best friend. "Hey Teddy, are you ok?" he asked quietly, paying no notice to the first years who were fleeing the scene.

Ted barked out a loan laugh that scared some of the first years away, but the group was becoming larger. "Okay? Do I look bloody alright Zane? Or have you really not known me for the bloody past seven years?!" Ted shouted, grabbing a fistful of his hair. "Red? Doesn't red mean anger? I think the bloody first years get that one Zaney." he spat at the head boy. "Gee I wonder why I could be so angry!" Ted said, throwing his arms up in the air. When he became angry, he tended to use a lot of hand motions. "Maybe it's because my pretty much little sister Lily came to me and told me you were out with a GIRL. A GIRL that isn't her, you know, your girlfriend, and that GIRL just happens to be my BLOODY EX!" Ted shouted, loosing himself to his anger.

Zane took a step back, watching his friend closely. "Hey Ted, calm down. I think you've made a mistake, I don't understand, I haven't been on a date with Rosie. I know how much you love her and I wouldn't do that to you," he said calmly, glancing at the growing group of first years. "Can't we talk about this somewhere else?" he said, motioning towards the spectators and wary that he had to set an example and not encourage shouting matches in the corridors. Oh great. Ted thinks I've just been on a date with Rosie. I'll have to try and explain it to him, that it wasn't a date, yeah like that's going to happen.

Ted made a series of odd noises with his mouth. "Of course you don't know, Golden Boy can't do a thing wrong can he?" Ted spat at Zane. He never called him Golden Boy, that was the nick name his sister and her friends gave to him, just like he was called Metawolf. They would never call eachother by the nickname their enemies gave him, and that only showed how angry Ted was. "Lily came to me crying, telling me about how she saw you and Rosie.." he stopped for a minute, clenching his eyes together. Whenever he said her name out loud it hurt, it felt like his heart breaking again especially in this situation. "The two of you all snuggled up together, that just sickens me Zane, to think I actually called you a friend!" Ted shouted, not even caring anymore. It was too late for him to calm down now, his anger had gone far past the point. This was his transformation, this was him becoming a werewolf. Once it happened it would calm down for a long while. "How could you do this to me? More importantly, Lily?!"

"I haven't done anything wrong, you've got it all wrong," he said quietly, trying to keep his temper under control which was proving difficult especially as he heard Teddy call him Golden Boy. Why won't he listen to me? I'm trying to tell him and he just won't listen! Wait, Lily was crying? "We weren't snuggled up together! I was giving her a shoulder to cry on because she felt alone and she felt that she didn't have anyone to confide in! I am your friend Teddy, you've just got it all wrong!" His voice was rising now, no longer cool calm and collected. "You don't understand! I'd never do anything to hurt you or Lily. Why won't you just listen to me?!"

Ted laughed. "Why can't I believe you? Well gee, frankly I'm going to believe my little sister over YOU anyday!" Ted spat. He knew it was mostly anger that was not wanting to believe Zane, and the fact that Rosie went to him instead. Of course, it was probably understandale to the normal, not rageful Teddy, but this Ted was a bit over his head. Ted shook his head, no longer able to listen to Zane's trash anymore. "Zane, I told you, no threaten you when you first started going out with Lily. Hurt her and I'll hurt you worse." Ted spat, rolling his sleeves up, looking like he was on a mission. "Maybe now you'll learn how to stop going behind my back and going out with the girl I love." he growled, literally growled at Zane. He no longer felt human, he was an animal now, you'd be able to tell from his eyes. He heard a few boys from their house wondering what the hell was going on. Good, maybe they'd be able to tell lily that her boyfriend was dead once Ted got a hold of him.

"Ted, listen to me! For once! You know I'd never hurt Lily, you know that but you still insist on this. I remember those words Teddy, they've haunted me ever since that day. I've done everything to prevent Lily from getting hurt. I can't possibly do any more." he took a deep breath as he saw Teddy roll up his sleeves. It's come to this has it? Fighting with my best friend over a simple misunderstanding? I need to go and find Lily, and explain everything. That I was just there giving Rosie some support in the time she needed it the most, not going behind my best friend's back and taking his ex out on a date. No! I'd never do that and Ted knows it. He's just too bent up with anger to remember that. With Ted's final words, the cool facard shattered into millions of tiny pieces and the temper took control. "I AM NOT GOING OUT WITH ROSIE!"

"You should of tried harder Zane." Ted stated simply. He could tell his hair reach a new kind of red today, he had never been as angry in his life at someone as he was at Zane at the moment. Ted began to step closer to Zane as he shouted and a grimmance formed on Ted's mouth. "How can I trust you Zane? How can you proove to me that you haven't? You can't, simple as that." Ted said moving close enough that he had to look down at Zane, who was a few inches shorter then himself. "I can't trust you Zane, not so easily anymore." Ted hissed at his friend before the world cam smashing down. He reconzined the feel of his fist hitting Zane's jaw and him throwing more and more punches at him, the sound of cheering and shouts behind them as the circle enclosed. After a minute or so he felt himself being pushed off Zane by other students and he began snapping at them, like he was some sort of dog. "Get him out of here! Bring Zane to the Common Room!" he heard voices shout, but didn't register who they were. He felt his body being dragged and he struggled, but gave in as he noticed he was being pulled into the Hospital Wing. "He's gone mad!" someone told the nurse and Ted closed his eyes, now willing for darkness.

It was night time by the time Ted began the trek up into the common room. It had been a long day, much forgiving had been done, well atleast between him and Rosie. After a long discussion he decided it was time to find Zane, trying to explain what the hell happened to him, and hopefully they could still be friends. But frankly, Ted screwed up too many times now. He sure he'd be left with nothing soon. So Ted climbed all the stairs to the seventh year boys dormitory and opened the door. As he did, fellow Gryffindor's shot their heads over to him. He sighed, now they hated him for the whole break up between him and Rosie and for beating the shit out of Zane. And he really did. "Um, can we um, have a moment?" Ted asked and the boys moved out of his way, hitting him on the way out. He sighed and looked at Zane. "Will you let me talk or should I just go assume I've got no one in this world anymore?" Ted asked, not moving and inch from the door.

ooc; Hope that was alright, I wasn't sure where to leave it off, so I moved it back to the Common Room, because that's where Rosie saw him.

"If I tried any harder, I'd be dead. I've reached that point now, I can't physically protect her anymore than I am doing without taking a killing curse for her. But that's what you want isn't it! You've never been happy with the idea of Lily and I, that's why I was even afraid to tell you. Too scared to tell my best friend who my new girl friend was. I can't believe it's come to this Ted," he said, remaining where he was stood as Ted crept closer. He looked up at his best friend, a few inches taller than himself, listening to his words, and trying to think of a response. He opened his mouth to reply when his jaw met Teddy's fist. He fell backwards, falling through the air until he met the cool stone floor. And the punches kept coming, a never ending stream, he put his hands up trying to deflect some of the punches, but failing. His vision faded, turning black as he heard voices around him. Out for the count.

Zane was lying in bed, his eyes closed, listening to the hushed whispers around him. He couldn't move without one part of his body aching like mad. The occasional twinge of pain occurred when one of the surrounding Gryffindors moved suddenly or said something that Zane felt he had to reply to. He heard the door swing open, wondering who it could be, it could have been anyone, lots of people had come to visit, all except one... Then he heard the familiar voice just as the surrounding Gryffindors got up and left the room. "Go ahead, I'm not stopping you," Zane whispered, motioning for Ted to come and sit on the opposite bed.

Ted sighed as his friend motioned him to the other bed. A hand ran through his hair as he moved over, taking his spot of James's bed. He looked down at the floor unable to look up at Zane, knowing all his bruises were from him. Him loosing control. How had he let it come to this? Biting his lip, he finally looked up at him. "Sorry." he said simply, but didn't stop there. "I'm really sorry Zane. I.. I don't know what happened really. It was just like, my anger totally took over. That's never happened before, and it scarred the shite out of me." Ted said, looking sadly over at his friend. "I know that doesn't make up for what I did, but frankly, replaying your reasoning over in my head, it all makes perfect sense." he said and paused, thinking about the last thing Zane had said about him and Lily. "I know you don't believe me, but in fact I am happy for you and Lily. Lily deserves the best, and that's exactly what you are for her. I don't know what put it in your head that I don't approve, but I do. Maybe you should check on the biological brother for that one." Ted sent him a sad smile as he said this.
