Tobie had made sure to bundle up before she made the trip own to Hogsmede; that particular October day was freezing, with a sharp wind whistling through the air. Tobie was wearing a black knit beret which was placed on the crown of her head, a gray peacoat (which was buttoned up securely), pale gray color skinny jeans and black UGG boots. Her mitten-clad hands were shoved into her pockets as se walked, trying to avoid any of the idiots who were whizzing through the streets. People were so obnoxious...
she and Corliss had made a promise to meet in the Three Broomsticks that afternoon just to hang out. The two had been so busy with studying and such all week that they barely had time to be alone together and just splurge on the latest gossip. she was excited about it, and now that she had a break from Avery and Aiden she would be able just to rant to a neutral third party. She was sure Corliss had some sort of guy issues as well (When didn't she?) and so they would both leave the pub with a sense of accomplishment.
Tobie opened the heavy wooden door, cringing slightly when she saw the shrunken heads. "Shut the damn door!" one of them shrieked, causing Tobie to push the door closed. She jumped when she heard the chime of bells overhead; why was she so anxious? rolling her eyes, she found an empty table in the corner of the pub, sitting down and waiting for Corliss to arrive. She wanted some much-needed girl bonding time with her best friend.

The trip down to the Three Broomsticks was much colder than it should have been. The last time she had visited was when she had meet up with Noah and it had been warm! Not that she really minded getting ready that morning. She wore her normal Hogsmeade attire. A black trench coat, which she had recived the Christmas before, dark denim jeans, and her UGG boots. The friends had gotten the matching boots while on a shopping trip durning Christmas break. They had planned this trip long in advance. The much need girl time was mainly to rant about boy problems, talk about other girls and also speak of the other gossip flooding around the school. It was very good just to talk to her best friend. They never got to just sit down and talk like the used to. Their night were speant studying or locked on some boy/ Well, mayb only she was locked on a boy.. There were many things keeping the friends away from one another and that needed to be changed So, after pushing the teak doors of the warm pub open, much to the distaste of a rather ugly shrunken head and a seventh year, Corliss looked around the pub. She quickly spotted Tobie, her all time best friend, and rushed to get a butter beer. She walked over to the table that Tobie had saved. "Why hello there, Tor!" she said kindly, using the nickname she had given the girl all those years ago. She smiled and took a seat. "So, whats been going on in your world?"

Tobie looked up whena gush of cld air came into the pub, and smiled brightly when she saw Corliss, leaves swirling at her heels until she closed the door. Gesturing her over, she grabbed her friend's butterbeer, sipping it carefully. "Sorry," she said sheepishly. "Next one's on me." she said, putting the correct amount of money on the table. She knwe Corliss wouldn't mind, though. the two had been stealing things off eacother's plates and stealing one another's drinks since the first year. "I have so much to talk about. Did you see that hickey on Samantha Bones's neck? It's the size of a galleon!" she laughed, sitting up in her seat and removing her mittens. "Since when was October so cold?" she asked, and in her mind she pictured Rowen responding "Since the day she was born," Oh, Rowen. What an asshole. But...she loved him to bits.

Corliss laughed, anyone else would have been angry for someone to steal a sip of something. The friends had gotten over that many years ago. They shared everything. Everything. Nothing they had hadn't been shared. It was great having a best friend like Tobie. "Oh I did see it! Terribly funny when I asked her who it was from. Do you know? Mason Greenwood! Ew!" she said, laughing softly. "Well, you know how Row and I would respond, but October got cold today, I guess." she said, winking at her friend. "I heard somethings going on with you and Ave. Why'd you two break up?" she asked, her eyes full of worry.

Great. she knew this question would arise not only once, but many, many times in the future. She shrugged lightly, tracing imaginary circles on the table. "I dunno...it just didn't feel right." she sighed. "Why did you two break up?" she asked quietly, looking up at Corliss. She had never asked her friend this, and now would probably be a good time to bring it up. "He hates me now, anyways." she growled, watching as a droplet of Butterbeer slid down the smooth ceramic mug. Her eyes darkened in color, turning dark brown. She had a grandmother who was a metamorphagus, and a few veru subtle genes had been passed down to both Rowen and Tobie to show that. Occasionally her eyes would change from gray-blue to dark brown, and her hair would change to various shades of brown. Rowen's hair, however, would take on ridiculous streaks of blonde, which corliss and Tobie teased him about relentlessly.

"It'll be alright. I be he doesn't hate you. He tol me not to tell you this, but he asked me to kill him." she whispered, looking away. Why did she have to tell Tobie. "It wasn't because of you. It was his parents. Y'know? He feels like he failed them." she added, looking back. "We broke up because he treated me like a prize. That and he wasn't really bad." Corliss looked out a nearby window. "I shouldn't have told you about that, Tobers. I'm sorry."
