Zane listened, just staring out of the window at the night sky. He made eye contact with Teddy when James said Lily's name, but then looked away quickly. That's a difficult one. Romantic dinner? No, they're not even talking so that wouldn't even get out of the starting blocks...something else then, something that let's Rosie know how much Teddy cares about her, but still provides her with space if she feels she needs it. He paused, an idea popping into his head when he heard the hoot of an owl from the direction of the Forbidden Forest. He turned to face Ted before speaking, "you're going to write her a letter." He said this as though it was the most simple answer to this downward spiral. "A letter explaining everything. And I mean everything. Let her know how you feel lost without her..."

James frowned thinking about ways that Teddy could use to get her back. He sighed not being able to come up with anything at all. He looked over at Zane catching the eye contact after he spoke his sister's name and frowned. He lay down on his bed (next to Zane's) and tried to focus on the main objective, but still came up with nothing. He heard Zane propose the letter idea and smiled "Brilliant. There she can see how much you love her and want her back. That's perfect Zane!" he said excitedly. "You can use my owl so that she doesn't recognise it's you who is writing to her."
Ted's mind had been clogged the past few days, no idea was coming in or out about how he was going to fix the mess with Rosie at all. He was desperate now to make things go back to normal. But he couldn't come up with a single idea. But Ted's head shot up as his friend came up with the most brilliant idea. Write her a letter. It was perfect. Since she wouldn't listen to him, maybe a letter would work. Ted smiled at Zane and then looked to James who offered his owl up. "Yeah, sounds brilliant guys, thank you so much!" he said, moving to his trunk and pulling out a piece of parchment. He sat on his bed and comptiplated on exactly what to tell her.
After a few minutes the quil started to move like there was no tomorrow. His feelings just flew to the paper, and he was sure half his thoughts were all jumbled, he was sure she'd get the point however. Eventally he placed his quil down and folded the letter three times before placing it a eveloppe. "You better bing it to him to, I can't let Rosie suspect a thing." he told James as he gave the letter to him, writting Rosie on the letter. "Hopefully that will help. I don't know how much more I can handle, her not talking to me and all."

James smiled glad that he could help Teddy. He finally saw the spark that the old Teddy had and was glad of it. This new Teddy was lost without Rosie. He watched as he snatched the parchment, quill and ink and smiled watching him write everything on the letter. When Teddy talked about him posting the letter he nodded and took it. "Sure. Glad to see you are feeling better." he said smiling clapping him on the back. He stood up and walked to the door "be back in a few." he said and he took off towards the owlery. When he got there he quickly attatched the letter to his owl and told her to wait till morning and deliver it in the breakfast post and she hooted and nipped him affectionatly. He stroked her and then ran back to Teddy "ok Snow is going to deliver it in the morning to avoid suspision." he said smiling sitting back down on his bed.

Zane was sitting corss-legged on his bed, just staring out of the window. There was the moon, a small cresent shape tonight, as the clouds revealed a bright stary sky. "It's alright," he said quietly, still looking up at the night sky. He traced the Great Bear in the sky, and spotted the three diagonal stars which made up Orion's belt. He heard the door shut quietly as James left for the Owlery. He just wasn't in the mood to start a new conversation. He wasn't angry at Ted, which he should be. Nor overjoyed to have the old Teddy back. Just no emotion at all, like a blank canvas, with no paint in sight.
