"Once again you're talking to yourself." The seventh year sighed as he slumped further down in his seat. He ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it a little before brushing a few of the strands out of his eyes. "And you have to repaint your nails. Great." He muttered glancing at his hands, the neon green varnish having chipped away to halfway down his nails.
Levi was in a bad mood, but the worst part was he wasn't even too sure why, today hadn't been too bad as far as days go. He'd relaxed, annoyed some second years, avoided some Gryffindors and generally had a stress free day. He was probably just frustrated. God knows he was bored. Where was everyone when you needed them?
So here he was, sat alone, talking to himself and contemplating which colour his nails were going to be next. Sure, he got some stick for wearing make up, but did he care? Did he heck! He was who he was, and he was happy with that, and hey he got more action than pretty much anyone he knew, which could never be a bad thing. Could it. "Tobie." He whined at the empty room, really needing someone to cheer him up.

Detention was now becomng an every day routine for the sixth year; she enjoyed talking back to her Professors tremendously, and didn't mind the two-hour sessions ni Classroom 11. Her purse was slung casually over one shoulder as she walked down one of the corridors, grabbing the handle for the door to the most likely empty room. She entered quietly, not noticing that the room was occupied until she turned around, nearly going into cardiac arrest in the process.
"Levi!!!" she cirped, skippnig over to where her buddy was stationed. She sat on his desk, crossing herlegs and grinning wildly at him. "What's up buttercup? Anything new?" she asked, the smiling remaining on her face until she saw his nails. "Ooh, honey, you're gonna need to repaint those." she said with a grimace. "Can I do it? Please? she offered him a pouty-face, batting her eyelashes at him. "You know you can't say no to me!" she begged, pulling another desk over so she could lay dramatically on them, pressing the back of her hand to her forehead for effect.

As if his wish had come true Levi watched as Tobie walked into the room, not noticing him straight away, but he couldn't help the small smile that grew on his face at seeing her. He laughed as she perched on his desk. "Hey, hey, Tobie!" He grinned. "Unfortunately I have nothing new to report, how's about you m'lovely?" He sighed as she pointed out his nails, "I know they need redoing." He rolled his eyes as she asked him if she could paint them, adding the slightly over dramatic hand over the eye as well. "Why you even bother asking is beyond me, you know I always let you do it. But I still say you can not do my eyeliner, ever!"
Levi leant back in his seat, balancing himself on two legs, his hands gripping the edge of the desk to stop himself tumbling backwards. "Anyway, what has you cooped up in here this fine afternoon? Anything fun?" His bad mood was lightening, as it usually did when he was with Tobie, she was crazy enough generally to make him feel sane, mostly. His hand went back through his hair, before his fingers ran under his eyes, wiping away any of his smudged eyeliner or eyeshadow.

Tboei pouted as Levi once again reminded her that she wasn't allowed to do his makeup. She wanted to try it so badly but of course her Slytherin friend had boundries. After a few moments she offered him a cheeky smile. "I wasn't thinking something along the lines of...black and purple? Or black and green." she said, wracking her mind with all the possibilities.
"Eh...hexing a couple first years. Nothing special." Tobie said nonchalantly. Well, actually she had done that on purpose. She didn't really want to hurt the first years...but if anyone were to catch wind of her wanting to change, then she would be exterminated by Lottie and her gang of delinquents. She sighed heavily, sitting up and looking at Levi. "Did you ever wonder...what would happen if you were sorted into a different House?" she asked, the own question had been in her own mind for weeks and she knew that she could ask Levi without being judged. "I was just thinking about that. Like...what if we had been Hufflers instead of Snakes? Or Gryffies? I mean...everyone's got different sides to them." she said.

"Don't pout at me Tobie, it won't work." Levi laughed. I'll let you have free reign on the nails front, do whatever you want." He smiled, hoping to stop her pouting. It was hard to say no to her when she did that. But she grinned at him, so he smiled and relaxed a little and shook his head at his friend.
Levi nodded as Tobie told him why he was here, a reason similar to his own, and of course most other Slytherins who ended up in detention. A small frown creased his brow as Tobie sighed and sat up, looking a little serious. His frown deepened as she spoke, another house? Maybe when he had just been sorted he'd wished to be in another house, but then he wouldn't be him. "Honestly, Tobes, I used to wonder, back in the first year. But if we had been in different houses, we'd never have met, would we? Which can only be a bad thing, right? And, yes, while everyone does have different sides, it's your dominant one that gets you sorted." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "What brought this on anyway dearest? You thinking of defecting?" He asked playfully, smiling at her, obviously not thinking that could be possible.

Tobie sighed. He was right; they never would have met. Or maybe they would have...it was so strange to think about. Blue eyes avoided Levi for several moments as he spoke. He really made a lot of sense...he was probably more Ravenclaw then Slytherin himself. "But...people change, don't they? I mean drastically. Someone can have a total change of heart, don't you think?" she asked. She didn't kow why she was trying to be so persuasive; the deed had been done. She went to the Headmistress that morning...and was resorted in Ravenclaw. Tonight she'd be sleeping in the Ravenclaw Common Room, taking classes with Ravenclaws and making new Ravenclaw friends.
"About that," Tobie said, sighing heavily and opening her purse to pull out a navy and silver tie that she had recieved that day to replace her emerald one. By the time you were in your sixth and seventh years at Hogwarts the dress code relaxed slightly but Tobie still stuck to it pretty well. She loosened her Slytherin tie, pullit it off and slowing fastening the Ravenclaw one on. When she finished, she have Levi a pleading look. "Please don't be upset with me..."

Levi didn't miss the fact that Tobie avoided his gaze as he spoke. As she responded he shrugged, "I guess, maybe some people do. If something major happens." Of course he knew major things had happened to Tobie, and his mind was already racing far ahead of where the conversation actually was, and the conclusion it was drawing was not one Levi wanted to accept. He wouldn't believe that she'd leave Slytherin, not until she confirmed it.
As she pulled the tie out of her purse Levi bit his lip, stopping himself from saying anything just yet, reminding himself that she was his best friend and would be no matter what. As she switched her ties he shook his head, pushing away from the desk, running his hand through his hair as he closed his eyes, trying to ignore what was staring in the face. She had done, Tobie, his Tobie had left. Left the house, and left him. As she spoke again he opened his eyes and looked at her.
"Shit Tobes. Why?" His was still in shock. Levi didn't take big changed easily and this was a big change. "I mean seriously, how could...I don't even know Tobie. I'm not upset. Never upset. Not with you. I'm just confused. I don't understand why you'd do this, why you'd rather be one of them than one of us." His statement didn't encompass the DE and NO, no he was thinking much more simplistically right now, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. "Please, don't do this Tobie." He just managed to keep his voice from breaking as he locked his eyes onto hers, his arms wrapped around his middle.

She swore she felt her heart break when she saw the way Leviticus looked at her. It wasn't really fair; what she had done was a secret and now she was just dropping this on him. She had tried to break the news as easily as possible, but now she had just messed things up for the ten-trillionth time. "Levi I'm sorry..." she said, voice breaking. She bit her lip, applying pressure there to prevent tears from forming. She didn't have to cry about it. It wasn't what she normally did.
"I'm afraid it's already been done." she whispered, gazing focussed on her hands. "Its just...I don't even feel safe in the Slytherin common room, Levi." she confessed, runnign a hand through her hair. "I mean...I'm always afraid someone'll come up behind me and..." she paused, feeling tears sting her eyes. "I just want to find a place I can call home again."

Tobie's heart may have broken due to the look on his face but as soon as Levi heard her voice he felt himself break. Everything he knew had changed, but worse than that he'd upset his best friend with his reaction. She didn't need him breaking into pieces, and he knew that. He was supposed to support her, no matter what, and he would, when he got his head around it all, knowing she wouldn't do something like this without a good reason.
She gave him the reason when she next spoke. Even though he didn't understand it, how could she not feel safe in the Slytherin Common Room? It was home to both of them, well it used to be at any rate. He saw the tears threatening in her eyes and sighed, moving over too her as she spoke once more and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly against his chest. He kissed the top of her head softly. "Don't apologise Tobie, it's not needed if it's what's right for you." He sighed pulling back to look into her eyes. "I just don't understand how you can not feel safe in the common room, but no matter what I'll still be here. You know that right? A little thing like house colours isn't gonna change the fact that you're my best friend and I love you."
He ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes as he swallowed for a moment. He swallowed every thought of trying to convince her to move back to Slytherin, he knew they'd fall on deaf ears and hurt her even more. "I hope you've found somewhere you can call home now." His voice was colder than intended, but it couldn't be helped, for as much as he wanted to break down he couldn't, his walls had come up and practically nothing would be able to reach him now.
