It had been two days ago since the incident in the Chamber of Secrets and Kia had been doing her best to avoid her best friend. She herself had said a lot of harsh things, which had been aimed directly at Nikita. Kia felt awful, but didn't feel up to confronting her firend face to face. She wanted to prolong the meeting for as long as possible, even asking first years if they could check to make sure that the common room was clear before she would even venture out of her dormatory. Things had gotten this bad. At present, Kia was lying on the floor of the Common Room by the fire, staring into the flames, whilst thinking of things to write in her diary. The page was blank except for the date written at the top. The violet script frequented every other page of the book, besides this one. She simply couldn't think of anything to write. Maybe a midnight snack would help?
She ran the diary back to her dormatory before returning to the common room. Thankfully, it was deserted, with no sign of Niki anywhere. She quietly slipped out into the dungeon corridor and headed for the stairs that lead to the entrance hall. Armed with the excuse that she was on prefect duty, she proceeded without fear, across the hall to the kitchen corridor, pausing by a large portrait of a fruit bowl. She smiled to herself before tickling the pair lightly. Kia looked over her shoulder, the hairs prickling on the back of her neck as she got the feeing someone was watching her. She stepped inside the kitchens and the portrait swung closed behind her. Immeadiately house elves swarmed around her and she noticed them take a step back as they recognised her. It seemed as though they had heard about her too. "A hot chocolate," she said quietly, pausing for a second before adding the word, "please".
She laughed quietly as she sat down at one of the tables. She really was changing if she was now addressing house elves with manners. She waited for her hot chocolate to arrive, anxious about getting back to the common room.
