Name:
Emma Kathleen Longbottom
Age:
Fourteen
Year:
Fifth
Blood:
Half-blood
House:
Hufflepuff
Play-by:
Kristen Bell
Appearance:
A refreshingly juvenile face sits on her rather short, slender neck of this particular girl. The arch of her cheekbones compliments the petite stature of her nose as well as the thin curve of her jaw and chin. Her face is rather slim and doesn't exactly hold the kind of features that could ever grow into a stunningly gorgeous face. She's is quite ordinary-looking, and while some would call her features something along the lines of adorable it's only because of the presence of her huge, ever-present smile. Really, her face is nothing out of the norm.
The young girl's eyes are something along the lines of extraordinary. They're the only thing about her that's even remotely captivating to look at. The rest of her tends to be a basket-case, always tripping over herself and looking a right bit disheveled. But her eyes are always glimmering with that jolly little hint of merriment. Cerulean fills her irises, flecked with greens and hazels in plentiful amounts. In their entirety, her eyes are pretty. But when paired with the rest of her, they lose a tad bit of their appeal.
Thick, sun-kissed locks of childish blonde fall in delicate strands around her face. Layered into a sort of graceful bob, the tresses don't fall far past her shoulders. Tending towards unruliness, her locks don't usually comply, even when she pulls out her rather hilarious array of clean cuss words to throw at them. Even attacking them with an array of different hair tools doesn't usually help. In fact, the young girl usually ends up throwing them up messily in a bun or pony-tail, which allows her pale blonde bangs to flap around freely. And quite irritatingly, mind you.

A secret your character has never revealed:
She would give anything to be on speaking terms with her twin.
Personality:
Emma is an easy girl to figure out. She's open with pretty much everyone, and doesn't exactly have a filter when it comes to her mouth. However, she doesn't exactly think bad thoughts, so her words aren't cruel. More of just a mushy mess of everything that goes on in that not-too-bright brain of hers. Her over-the-top friendliness and sunny disposition with everyone makes her easy to hurt and even easier to manipulate.
She does pretty much everything that anyone tells her to. The girl knows she's not the brightest flower in the field, and as such, figures that other people know best for her. The ability to be assertive is something she never learned, and so she doesn't really react when people put her down or throw snide comments her way. In fact, she's a bit like a stuffed creature in the sense that she pops right back up if you push her down.
Emma's a friendly girl. She has a habit of going up to even people she doesn't know and talking to them. In fact, she'll usually give them a hug, unless she's completely certain that they'd jinx her if she did. She likes to brighten up people's days, and to make them smile. Which usually isn't hard, as most people find her overly enthusiastic friendliness to be just a bit too funny not to laugh at.
Making other people genuinely happy is something that she wishes she was better at. Always eager to please, she'll do anything to help someone else, and will always comply with anything that someone needs help with, even if she knows it'll get her in trouble. She's always up for anything, and her enthusiasm couldn't be more upbeat if she tried. The term 'eager beaver' doesn't really apply any more than with a girl like Emma. In fact, even if she doesn't really want to do something, she'll try anyways, simply because she wants to please whoever's asking.
The last thing to note about Emma is that she's afraid of pretty much everything. Some people, like most Death Eaters, scare the living daylights out of her. Sure, that doesn't stop her from being overly nice to them, but threats they throw her way and looks they give her tend to result in nightmares. Emma's no stranger to nightmares. Horror movies are something she's refrained from watching since she was small. They don't help her sleep at all.

History:
Emma's had a pretty normal life. Her parents loved each other dearly, and they loved their four children more than anything in the world. The four of them got along quite nicely when they were younger, and didn't really have problems with each other. In all, her life was so ordinary, it was almost crazy.
That is, until she got to Hogwarts.
Now, Emma and her twin, Chris had always been close. They'd known each other's thoughts before the other one spoke them, and always had each other's backs. But when the two of them, as scared little eleven-year-olds, reached Hogwarts, and were sorted into their houses, something went awfully and horribly wrong.
The two were sorted into different houses.
While Emma was put in Hufflepuff because of her overly friendly nature, her brother was placed in Slytherin. Perhaps the hat could see how the boy would become in his years in the snake house. Chris started hanging around Emma less and less and began to resent his parents for bringing him up the way they had. It broke Emma's heart to see her best friend leave her like that, but she sucked it up and tried to be brave for her family.
She wishes worse than anything that her brother would talk to her again. That they could be as good of friends as they had been when they were small. But time has brought them apart, and although she wishes it weren't true, they have nothing in common anymore. She has her friends, and he has his. It hurts every time she sees him, but she tries not to cry. After all, he's a Slytherin now. He'd probably just laugh at her.
