It had taken Leviticus Blessing at least an hour to get ready this morning, with everything that was playing on his mind he had had to attempt his eyeliner four times before it looked right, and his nails had needed redoing, the black and green having chipped away from being beaten against the wood of his head board the night before when he'd drummed his fingers against it for hours.
But finally he was dressed and ready to face the world once more. He'd made his way to the Great Hall with little trouble, a couple of first years got in his way briefly, but they ended up flying into the wall behind them, he couldn't have told you what house they were from, and he also couldn't tell you that he cared anyway.
Levi walked into the Great Hall surrounded in his usual air of confidence and self assurance. Though internally there was a battle raging within him. His thoughts were a scrambled mess as he took his usual seat at the Slytherin table and grabbed a slice of toast and started to eat it slowly, it was dry and crunched in his mouth, sounding over his thoughts for a moment with each bite. He was sure this was the only peace he'd get today.

Kia was sitting by the fire in the common room, as she had been for the past hour or so. Not on one of the sofas mind you, but actually sitting on the floor, quite out of sight from her fellow Slytherins. She stared into the flames whilst running a hairbrush through her hair and wondering about the day ahead. Hopefully it would go something, with nothing that would cause her to lose her temper, which seemed to have been a regular occurance in the past few days. She glanced at her watch before deciding that maybe it was time she got something to eat. She walked back to the dormatory to place her hairbrush back in it's original place, before grabbing her long emerald cardigan. She slipped it on and put her hands in her pockets, whilst glancing around to see if anyone had stirred. Nope.
She walked slowly back to the common room, checking her appearance in the floor length mirror before leaving the dormatory. The lingering first years soon moved out of her way, parting like waves as they usually did. But today Kia had a relatively calm state of mind. She left the common room with no fuss whatsoever and stepped out into the dungeon corridor, cold as usual. The fresh spider webs coating the passages which she had to travel through, proved no match for a quick non-verbal by the seventh year. Who proceeded without care or attention, narrowly missing some second years loitering on the stairs. She reached the bright light of the entrance hall, but she did not pause to stop and chat with anyone.
Kia entered the great hall and walked over to the Slytherin table, heads turning in her wake. Ah. One slight problem there. Someone was sitting in her seat. A third year. Who does he think he is? Everyone knows that's my seat...wait Kia don't lose your temper, again. You can get him later. Instead she spotted a spare seat next to Mr Blessing, which she slid into and then helped herself to a crumpet. "Sorry, someone took my seat," she said quietly, furnunculus. The poor unsuspecting third year had no chance as he got hit in the head with the curse, large boils beginning to appear.

Levi glanced up as Kianthra slid into the seat beside him and smiled, "Not a problem Miss Lestrange." He said softly, though he felt a little sorry for whoever was stupid enough to take her seat, he glanced down the table as he took a swig of his orange juice, though when he saw the boy who had evidently taken Kainthra's seat he almost spat it everywhere. He quickly covered his mouth to prevent it but couldn't help the quiet laugh that left him after he swallowed.
"Nicely done." He murmured appreciatively glancing back at the girl beside him. "So how is this lovely day finding you so far?" He asked trying to start a polite conversation despite the clamouring going on with his thoughts. He really needed to sort himself out but he'd focus on that later, when he had a few moments to himself and wasn't playing the role he had crafted for himself within the school. Quickly running a hand through his hair Levi picked up another piece of dry toast and started eating, waiting for a response to his question.

She nodded as she watched the third year try and hide the boils whilst trying to find out who had cursed him. As he looked in Kianthra's direction, she waved, a smug smile across her face. The boy's face fell and he quickly left the room, leaving all his little friends wondering what to do. "Thanks," she said politely, pouring herself a glass of orange juice. "The day is going quite well so far. The usual loitering second-years getting in my way, but still, everything has gone well so far. I haven't sent my stationary chasing after anyone yet, like I did yesterday," she blushed slightly as she said this, remembering Rowen's reaction as he had seen the fifth year running down the corridor, being chased by jars of violet ink and various pieces of parchement. "How about you?" she said quietly, before finishing the crumpet she was holding in her hand.

Levi watched the third year run from the room and shook his head at the small boy with a smile playing across his lips. He returned his attention to Kiantra as she spoke, nodding slowly with her words, "It's always a good sign when your stationary doesn't chase people." He shrugged as if it was an every day occurrence, which to be fair, at Hogwarts it really was.
Then she asked how he was, he could answer honestly and say that actually everything was pretty shitty for him at the moment. Or he could give the well rehearsed, well performed answer, that everything was great, he was great and the stupid little first years weren't bothering him as much as they had last year. He went for somewhere in between, "I've been better, but I've also been worse. So yeah, I'm fine." He almost cringed when he said the 'f' word, he hated that word, it was a thin veil people used when they were really feeling like shit. Which was of course why he used it.

She laughed quietly before taking a sip of orange juice and helping herself to another crumpet. "Yes I suppose it is," she murmured in between bites of crumpet. She raised her eyebrows slightly as he spoke once more. "I think fine is a bit of an exaggeration on the truth, don't you think?" she whispered whilst looking into his eyes, searching them for any signs of dishonesty. Most people told her the truth, they were well aware that if they didn't, the Slytherin princess could just pluck it out of their heads by force, so most preferred the pain-free option instead of the once involving legilimency.

He watched as she raised her eyebrows at him, well aware that she wouldn't believe him, but honestly some parts of his life were great, he was healthy, getting decent marks in class and generally enjoying himself, it was just that one thing that was taking him over and making him use words such as fine. "It may be Kianthra, however I very much doubt you want burdening with my pathetic problems." He smiled, looking into her eyes for a fraction of a second before taking another drink of orange juice from his cup.

She listened to his words carefully, her gaze wandering around the Hall, focusing on nothing in particular. A toast fight over at the Hufflepuff table, a heated debate over at Ravenclaw and a quidditch team meeting over at Gryffindor. "I doubt that they are pathetic, otherwise they wouldn't be a burden for you. I've got more than my fair share of issues at the moment, so a few more won't tip the balance." She took a slice of toast, holding it in her right hand, whilst sipping pumpkin juice with her left.

He laughed quietly as Kai spoke, she wasn't perhaps the best person for him to talk to about his issues with Niki, but maybe if he didn't use names it'd be alright? He finished off his slice of toast and grabbed a banana form the pile of fruit in front of them, he rested it on the table as it was for him to take back to the common room with him later.
"Ah, Kianthra, I would hate to unload my problem on you, especially since even the simple description of it sounds pathetic. You see I am currently suffering from something I have never experienced before. And that thing would be girl trouble." He sighed the last two words quietly, it was a phrase he'd never used before to describe anything about himself, Leviticus Blessing didn't do 'girl trouble'.

She quietly munched on the piece of toast whilst listening to Levi's reply. She smiled kindly, something that was somewhat of a rare occurance with this girl. It didn't happen often, only her closest friends knew the real Kia. The rest of the population simply saw the outer shell, not taking the time or making the effort to get to know the girl underneath. Well, her facade did tend to strike fear into the hearts of some and hatred into the hearts of many, so very few people actually had the chance, like Rowen. "Girl trouble? Well I'm the girl you want to talk too. What can I help you with? You can trust me," she said quietly, taking another sip of pumpkin juice.

"It's not a question of trust Kia. It's a question of pride. If I admit, just how much this girl has gotten under my skin then it will do some serious damage to my pride. And as you may have noticed I'm a rather proud guy." He smiled at the girl beside him. He was thankful that his voice had stayed calm, even with all the activity going on under the surface.
"Also, I fear you may not be the best person for me to disclose my secret to Kianthra, as you happen to know the girl rather well. And know just as well as I do that all of my thoughts, and wishes are pointless, since she is already spoken for." That was about all he was prepared to say for the moment until he managed to find a way to explain what his actual issue with the 'mystery' girl was.
