Dakota sure loved reading those big books of his, he really loved reading as it was the only way he could escape the world he lived in. Sometimes it just got rid of all his stress he was feeling during the day if he just read a good long book. As long as it kept his interest long enough he was fine for hours at a time, and he didn't care how long it took him to actually finish the book either. As long as it got it done he was pretty happy with his self pretty much, and he always finished his books.
"Oh I see, well most people leave me alone as the don't really actually know m-me and that makes me pretty glad. I can't defend my self at all really, I-I t-tend to just well I run away a lot"he stuttered a little just saying that and now he felt slightly dumb. He stuttered once in a while and it wasn't so much his fault he did, it was his darn shyness that made him the way he is. He needed to get out of his shyness zone and be more social for sure.
"Believe me, I wish people would leave me alone sometimes, but that's rarity." He sighed, "But why would you really need to defend yourself? Just avoid the Slytherins and you're sorted." He laughed. "But, I guess if you wanted me to, I could teach you a few things on the defence side? That's up to you though."
Louis felt a little sorry for this boy, he hid in stories when he should be out enjoying life, he was sixteen for goodness sake! It baffled Louis as to how someone could be happy living such a life, it was obviously lonely.

"I don't know if it'd actually be much help to me to be honest, as I do try to avoid the Slytherins at all cost as I'm quite like terrfied of them" Dakota said shuddering. He tried avoiding most people was more like it, since he was afraid of what some people would actually think of him. He thought it was common in most pretty shy people and that was just what he actually was. He was a shy person and that much was very very clear.
Lonely, now even though Dakota was very lonely, he was happy living the way he did. He actually kinda liked living the way he did sometimes, but he just needed major change. So his life wasn't like so bland really, as that was just the way his life was right now. It was bland and boring.
"Whatever you do, don't tell a Slytherin you're scared of them, that's a sure fire way to being ridiculed and probably hexed." Louis said, his voice light, but with a serious edge to it. "Besides, there's no reason to be scared of them, they're just a bunch of kids like the rest of us, there's just a few to be avoided." Louis had understood that Dakota was shy, but the boy really needed to overcome that.
"So, the decision is yours. You can choose to stay with this life filled with books and seclusion with little human interaction. Or you can actually brave the real world and go out and meet people." The Gryffindor shrugged before sliding off the table and turning to leave the Library, he paused at the door as he pushed it open, looking back at the Ravenclaw boy, "Well?" He asked, waiting for the decision to be made.

"I've figured that, Slytherins show no mercy to most people and you tell one you fear them they'll take that and only make you fear them more" Dakota said sighing deeply. Even he had times when he was harrassed by someone, and he can't really say he actually enjoys that. As he doesn't, he doesn't really know if theres really a person who likes being harrassed by people. Seeing as why would you, it's just plain cruel and totally wrong to so he had no idea why you'd actually enjoy things like that.
Dakota looked at Louis when he stood up and sighed thinking for a minute, he knew he'd probably regret not going along so he might as well. "Yeah I guess so" he said stands up grabbing his bag from the floor following after him. "I mean I just might as well" he added.
"No, mercy is not a word in most of the snakes vocabularies. But I can't say as I really fear any of them. They're just a bunch of pathetic kids who have far too much time on their hands." Louis shrugged with a smile. He'd had a few run ins with some Slytherins throughout his years at Hogwarts but he more often than not came away unscathed.
A grin broke out across the blonde boys face as Dakota stood up and grabbed his bag. "You might as well indeed, after all if you don't like it you can always run back to your books, they'll wait for you." He smiled as he pushed off the open door and out into the corridor. It was nice to feel free of the confines of the Library and as such he couldn't resist a quick stretch, almost as if he'd been locked in a small space for an extended period of time.

Dakota nodded slightly taking a very deep breath, he knew Louis was right very right indeed right now. He had to agree with him since he hated Slytherins, or at least most of the Slytherins really as they actually sorta scared him. Though than again many differant things actually seemed to scare him, like nakes and spiders really scared him and he had nightmeres about them. "Yeah I guess that's true" he said shrugging his shoulders.
"Yeah I know they will, but let's hope that I don't really have to go right back to them anyways" he said slightly looking at his bag. He even had book in there, so if this didn't work he could even just sit down somewhere and read anywhere. As long as it was semi quiet.
"I'm pretty sure you won't need to come right back to the books Dakota. Really, the outside world isn't as scary as you seem to think it is." Louis smiled as they started to walk through the corridors away from the library and down towards the open air. It was almost as if the sun was calling to him, beckoning for him to come outside and enjoy the warmth and the breeze.
"Besides," He said after a moment turning to look at Dakota, "I'm sure you have a book secreted about your person somewhere, don't you?" A knowing smile playing on his lips.

"I wouldn't really know how good the outside air really, I don't go outside that much to be honest since I like being in here so much. I read so many books and they are just my life most of the time and when I'm outside it's not for that long, I don't like being outside the long I guess but I can always change that I guess" he said his words no longer actually making much sense to him and he didn't really enjoy that. He looked behind him once and sighed just following Louis, he was trying to to stop and just run off to the library again.
His was going to go outside and actually enjoy his self for once and not be a nerd any longer, he had to just get over this. "Well perhaps I do but why should that matter, I read the book quite a few times and the binding is really falling apart. So yeah" he said shrugging his shoulders.
"If you don;t like being outside then you don't like being outside, but that doesn't mean your only other option is the library." Louis stated, he was still struggling with the fact that the boy had been here for so long and didn't have any real friends, especially in Ravenclaw, since they were all rather intelligent anyway, but oh well, that was the way it was.
"It doesn't matter, it was just a guess. I guess you could call it your security blanket or something, 'cause I bet you feel lost without having a book nearby." He said simply as they neared the main doors to the school which would lead them out into the grounds. "You sure you want to do this?" He asked Dakota teasingly.

"I guess you're right about that, but the library just happens to be my favorite option is all or at lease the option I always seem to chose. Not many people actually go to the library so I'm mostly always actually alone and I like being alone most of the time, not all the time but most of the time quiet is really nice. Though hthere are some people who happen to bug me once in a while and I guess there's nothing totally actually wrong with that actually just the way" Dakota said shrugging his shoulders.
"It's just what it is, I always have a book with me it's just the way I am to be honest, with a book with me I just feel so weird" Dakota said sighing a little bit looking at Louis and nodding. "Yes I'm sure I want to do this so let's get it over with" he added looking at the doors for a slight moment.
Simply shaking his head Louis pushed the large wooden door open as they reached it and smiled as the sun rays hit his face. Such a simple thing always made him smile. He glanced quickly around the section of the grounds that was visible, there were a few groups of students, some Ravenclaws and Slytherins, although, obviously not mingling.
He strode out quite contentedly, checking with a quick look behind him to make sure Dakota was still with him as he walked slowly down the steps and onto the grass.

Dakota followed Louis outside blinking a few times as he stared blankly at the sky amazed, sure he's been outside before but it's been awhile since the last time he wandered out side of the castle walls. He was actually never at Hogsmeade, not that he didn't have the premission to go. It was just that he decided to skip all the visits as he had better things to do, like read in the library the whole day. It was just what he always seemed to do, but right now for one in his life he was actually outside.
"I'm surprised" he said to his self just looking arond still following Louis surprising his self every single step he took, he had to admit the air felt nice. It was also nice to be able to actually breath right now to, clean not musty dusty air more like it. The light was much brighter though which was very new to him lately.
"Surprised? About what?" Louis asked with a smile as he made his way towards a tree before flopping down at the base of it, dumping his bag beside him, and stretching his legs out, his hands behind his head as he leaned back against the trunk. This was where he's supposed to be, out in the fresh air. He was happy here.
He closed his eyes as he relaxed. "See, nothing scary about the outside world is there?" He laughed after a few moments, opening his eyes to look at the other boy.

"I'm surprised I'm actually otside in the open air and not inside the library still trying to finish the book I wanted to finish I guess is all" he said sitting down in the grass looking down at his shoes for a minute thinking. Gosh this was pretty new to him, although he didn't mind new things in his boring life. He was all for new things, if he didn't get his self killed or worse in the process. He much enjoyed actually living, living was quite fun to him and age sixteen was to young for him to actually die.
"I guess not, but than again it's still early and anything can happen from here to some other time I'm sure" Dakota said shrugging his shoulders. He was quit negative sometimes and he really had to grow out of that, since it was just getting him nowhere fast being negative like that.
