This Potions essay was killing Louis Weasley, was he really supposed to care about how Acromantula venom was used in a variety of potions and brews? Seriously? His professor thought he was, so here he was, stuck in the library, searching through book after book to try and get the full two and a half foot of parchment written, when he'd much rather be out running, or relaxing in the common room, hell he'd even prefer listening to his sisters bicker like they did at home, instead of writing this stupid...."Argh!" He sighed quietly, not wanting to incur the wrath of the of the librarian for being too loud.
"The venom can be used in potions such as...blah blah blah." He slammed the book shut and rubbed the heels of his hands over his eyes, looking out of the window into the grounds beyond which were bathed in light, but the slow soft movements of the leaves told him that there was a gentle breeze, perfect weather for running. He was starting to get rather frustrated.

Ah the library, a place that Dakota seemed to find his self in all the time since he found no reason to be outside. He just seemed to think that there was so much more to do inside in the library then there was outside, but than again that was because he wasn't one for the outdoors. Even when he was young he was inside the house most of his time with his mother, it was how he and his mom made such a good relationship. It was that or he was reading really, he loved reading since he was a Ravenclaw judging by his robes.
At the moment he was sitting at a table with a large book in front of him, and the book had tiny text to. It was what he liked to call light reading, but it wasn't fooling any one. It was far from light reading, it was one of the largest books he actually read. Though the usually quiet llibrary was no longer quiet when the sound of a book being slammed shut broke the silence causing him to sigh deeply looking up from his book. "Umm excuse me could you try and be a little more quiet please" he asked in almost a whisper.
Even if he was speaking normally it would be a tad quiet, as he was a tad of a shy guy and the library was normally a place he could just be alone. There was the few times when he was disturbed and those were really the only times he actually talked to people.

Louis looked up as someone spoke in a hushed voice, he spotted the Ravenclaw and rolled his eyes. It wasn't his fault that he was annoyed, blame the stupid Potions master who set the sodding essay!! But of course he didn't say that, in fact he didn't say anything for a moment, he just shut another heavy book, not slamming it but not preventing it from making a noise.
"Sorry, just getting a little frustrated with this essay, and while I'd normally run off my frustration, I've been restricted to the Library until it's finished by my dearest sister." The last part of his sentence was dripping with sarcasm, he was anything but happy abut having promised to stay in this stuffy book filled room until he'd written the essay. He hadn't realised it would be this difficult.

Dakota shook his head slightly amused, now he wasn't one to take his time on school work. He did it to get it done and over worth, but he did it right so he had nothing to fix. "Sorry to here that, I finished all my school work right away. That avoids having to do it later on, though I'd rather be in here then outside anyday" he said quietly. He sounded like a total nerd and he knew, all you had to do is slap on the dorky glasses, braces, and pimples all over his face you'd have one. He mostly needed some one to get him out more, make him loosen up and stop being such a downer. Though with his big book he was reading right now it didn't seem like it will be happening anytime soon.
"So erm I'm Dakota, Dakota Greene" he whispered his voice now getting even more quiet. If he got any more quiet now you wouldn't even be able to hear the boy, but he just could never speak up. He knew he had to learn how to though or no body would be able to hear him talk and he would have no friends, he would not be in good shape. He had issues with being alone, because he was weird like that.

"Yeah well, my work doesn't usually take this long, and my sister got fed up and banished me from the common room and made me come here. Gotta love family." He laughed quietly, he couldn't help but think of this boy as a little bit of a nerd, especially with that huge book he had his nose stuck in. Louis silenced a scoff as Dakota said he'd rather be in the library than outside. That just confirmed Louis suspicions about the Ravenclaw.
"How could anyone rather be here, stuck with all these musty books, instead of outside with the fresh air and sunshine? Seriously?" He shook his head disbelievingly. He listened to the boy introduce himself before nodding a little, though he'd had to strain to hear the voice he had caught it. "I'm Louis, Louis Weasley." Louis smiled, running a hand through his mussed up blond hair.

"My work never takes long, no matter what it actually is I get it done pretty quickly and I get it done right" he sighed slightly thinking for a minute. It was a nice day outside and some people were actually very surprised he wasn't outside, but really he didn't seem to care. He wasn't really one to go outside an actually have fun. He seemed to think that books were fun, he was weird like that really. He just couldn't help it to be honest, and the question Louis asked he had to just think about it for a minute.
"Some people actually happen to like reading" he said shrugging his shoulders shutting his books, page 678 he remembered easily as the page he was on. The book had over a thousand pages and he was very into it lately, "so some people would much rather be in here with these musty books than outside. Where some people will just be alone staring blankly at the murky lake water to begin with. So I'm just much better off in her" he said pushing his book to the side.
Louis sighed as Dakota mentioned his ability to do his work quickly and correctly, regardless. Sure, the Weasley boy got good marks, but it took a bit more effort for him in some subjects than in others. Potions being one of his weaker subjects. He never got the top marks, but that was probably because he didn't coop himself up in the library studying day after day. He'd rather be out in the sun, either sitting under a tree talking to his friends or running.
"I like reading, but there's light recreational reading and serious bookworm syndrome." Louis smiled at the Ravenclaw, strangely the other boy reminded Louis of his aunt Hermione, who always seemed to have piles of books dotted around her house. "I honestly can't say I am one of the people who would rather pass up good weather in favour of studying." He shrugged, "And maybe if you went outside more you wouldn't end up sat alone by the lake. There'd probably people there with you."

Now even though Potions was not one of his top subjects he still worked very hard to keep pretty good marks in that class, so he didn't let his parents down. That was but the last thing he wanted, he wanted to succeed in everything he did just for them. Sure he didn't get top marks, but he was still pretty high up on the list and sometimes he actually liked being a nerd. He had some friends, though he really didn't talk to them much so who could actually really call them true friends. They were more like people he helped with their homework half the time, but at least he wasn't alone all the time that way. "Bookworm syndrome, that's just what I have" Dakota said smiling slightly to his self.
"I do have friends, well no actually it's more like people who have me help them with homework I guess so not really friends. Making friends is just sorta hard I guess, when your kinda shy like I am" Dakota muttered sighing deeply playing with his tie a little bit. People who know Dakota would seem to say he's an akward dork little boy.
"Well to first step to getting over the problem is admitting it." Louis smiled as Dakota said he had 'Bookworm Syndrome', He gathered his parchment and quills, stuffing them into his bag. He was fed up, and wouldn't get any more work done while he was cooped up in this room. Grabbing the bag he moved to sit on the corner of the table where Dakota sat, he perched there quite happily as the other boy spoke.
"Shy people have friends too. Come on, let's head outside and I'll show you why it's so much better than always staying cooped up in here. Maybe you should try getting out as little as once a week, you'd be amazed at how many people would actually want to be your friend, and not just for help with homework." He smiled looking at the Ravenclaw, he couldn't believe that Dakota didn't have any real friends, he thought everyone should have at least one real friend, after all he had Ellie, and his sisters, as well as all his other acquaintances.

"Well than I got my self thus far and perhaps I can get rid of it a little bit at a tume and not be such a bookworm" he said, Dakora had to admit to it. He did have a mighty big problem with the amount of books he read in a week, and the size of the books for that matter. It was almost a crime really, and he really had to learn to let less and live a little or his life would be boring. He needed fun in his life, with out fun his life meant about nothing. He was an adult at the age of sixteen, that wasn't much fun now what it. No it was no fun at all, it was in fact a very bad thing.
"Not if the shy person is sometimes to shy to really really know people and get to be their friend, which is just my problem you see. I actually have trouble make real friends, with all the gosh darn fears I got" he said sighing deeply thinking of just that. He feared people just not even liking him, it was nothing to bad he just tried his best not to get people mad at him. Causing people to just pretty much use him, "I wouldn't really know who'd actually want to be my friend or not. It's worth a shot though" he said shrugging.
"That sounds like a plan Dakota." Louis smiled as Dakota admitted it was probably time for him to stop being quite so much of a bookwork. Louis liked reading, but it was generally books of the fiction variety before he went to bed, they helped him wind down and get ready for sleep, it was a great way for him to end the day.
"That's when the shy person gets help from someone who annoyed him by being too loud in the library." Louis smirked. "And for the record, I'd like to be your friend, you seem kind of cool, when your nose isn't stuck in a book that is." He laughed, quietly of course. He was running through the lists of people he knew and who might get on well with Dakota, Ellie was an obvious candidate because even if she didn't really like the boy she'd be nice for Louis sake. Maybe Louis should just help him with his social skills a little and leave the friend finding mostly to Dakota himself.

Dakota really needed a life to put it the simple way, he needed to have his life as a kid and not as an adult. He actually add to be a sixteen year old for once in his life, maybe not read as much as he did and be normal. He loved to read though, mostly large chapter books and really boring books that many other people wouldn't actually really read. He actually happened to like them even though they were really pretty boring, and he felt the bigger the book the better. "Being a boookworm is just getting me nowhere right now" Dakota said, and he knew it to.
"Well maybe shy person should thank annoying person for the help, if it works that is. It may just be doing me a very big favor" Dakota said smiling, "I can be cool I guess. If you pull my nose from my book by throwing it or something"he added shrugging. If he wasn't so quiet things would also be much easier for him. It's be much much easier for him actually, he'd be able to make friends a little easier.
"No offence but being a devout bookworm gets no one anywhere fast, except to the top of the class. Trust me, even my aunt Hermione had a bit of a rebellious streak." He laughed, pushing the now closed book away from Dakota and sliding back on the desk a little, getting much more comfortable.
"Don't worry 'bout thanks. Just start acting you're age, you're not your father yet." He laughed. "So, we need to work on your shyness Dakota, bring you out of your shell, oh, and your volume issues, being in here so often has obviously affected your ability to speak above a whisper." His voice had now reached his normal volume gradually as he had spoken.

Dakota looked at he large book as it was pushed away from him, staring at it for a minute before making his self look away from it. "Yeah I guess so" he said sighing a little bit, knowing him give it a day or two and he'd be backere trying to finish the book. He really sorta wanted to know what happens to all the people in the book, but he knew it'd take a while for him to actually finish it it there were distractions. Some people would actually just distract him to bug him and those people got on his nerves, he had little patience for them.
"Sometimes just acting my age is hard, I know it sounds really weird that a teenager doesn't know how to act their age as normally people would say for one to act their age and not their shoe size. Good luck with trying to get me out of tmy shell I'll tell you that, and the volume of my voice to. I'm so use to talk quietly" he sighed.

Louis sighed as Dakota watched the book. He knew it was difficult to stop doing something you enjoyed, and to mix up your routine, but usually it was worth the effort.
"Getting you out of your shell will only be hard if you fight to stay in there. Trust me, I was really shy my first couple of years here. People were hurling insults at me cause of my dad, mainly the Slytherins admittedly. And because of my Veela heritage I was getting more attention than I was used to, so I hid myself in my exercise and school work, but you can overcome it. Trust me. It takes effort, but it really is worth it." He shrugged.
