Name:
Eleos Kalypso Rayne
Age:
Fifteen
Year:
Fifth
Blood:
Muggle-born
House:
Gryffindor
Celebrity:
Miranda Kerr
Appearance:
Peculiar-looking is perhaps the best way to describe someone like Ellie. Short and a tad scrawny to the untrained eye, the youngest Rayne girl hides thin, chiseled muscles beneath her seemingly weak appearance. She can tussle with the best of them if the need arises, and it often does, as she has a habit of provoking older Slytherins.
But it's not exactly her features that make her different from most everything else. In fact, in a headshot she'd look quite plain. Her dull brown hair often goes unparted, damaged and unkept as it is, and has a habit of seeming as messy as the inside of a lunatic's brain. At the same time, her dark, muddy olive eyes are honestly nothing special to look at, unless one can see the volcano of emotions bubbling inside her brain. No, the thing that keeps people's eyes is the way she holds herself: confident and bold as ever. Her stance holds power, and even though her thin frame tends to be covered in baggy, unflattering clothing, she still radiates a certain undaunted valiance during her every waking moment.
Saying Ellie's a tom-boy would be putting it lightly. The girl doesn't give a rat's ass what she wears, as long as it's something comfortable that lacks the nuisance of girly frills, and that won't be ruined if she grovels in the mud with it. Not much fits this specific description, so she tends to wear cargo pants, t-shirts, and worn-out sneakers. All of the clothes have a rather ratty look to them, as she hasn't grown in a while, and doesn't exactly feel the need to buy new clothes like other girls would.

Personality:
Unpredictable as the rolling seas, Ellie has never been one to follow the rules of normalcy. She relishes her differences from society, but at the same time, she doesn't create them on purpose. In fact, all her peculiarities are simply parts of her personality. A raw person, real as they come, she doesn't try to be anything she's not. The girl prefers to stay away from people, as they're constantly trying to shove her into the mold of regular society. Time spent alone is much more precious to her.
Rules have never had much of an effect on her, and teachers no longer really feel the need to tell her she'll be in detention. It's become a ritual to go every night to the classroom they're being held in. Although, she often skips and plants magical fireworks or the likes near the Headmaster's office. Quite entertaining, if she does say so herself. Pranks and mischief are her one source of release, and are as signature to her as honking is to a goose. But she's quite sneaky with her trouble-making, and is a good liar at that. Even if someone knows she did something, they can rarely find evidence or get her to admit. If such things were easy, Ellie would have been expelled a very long time ago.
Jumping off cliffs with her eyes closed would be a good metaphor for the way Ellie thinks about things. She's a reckless girl, and does things simply to feel free. Such as skinny-dipping in the Black Lake in the middle of winter, or bungee jumping off the owlrey in her third year. She likes the thrill of feeling alive, and will do anything to get it, so like a drug it is to her.
Passionate is one way to describe the fire of life that lives inside this girl. She loves life with a fierce, hot-blooded sort of affection, and simply can't get enough breath in her lungs at any given time. Zealous and spirited beyond comprehension, she hates the thought of death, but at the same time, isn't terrified of it like most people tend to be. The girl knows it's a part of life, and any part of that great circle, she really can't hate.
All that aside, she's a rather awkward girl when she's not doing what she loves. Small talk repulses her, as do other things that stink of regularity. She becomes figety when she sits down, and often skips class simply so she won't have to use those awful torture contraptions the rest of the human population calls chairs. She would be considered intelligent, if she didn't spend all her time running around the school like a maniac, but the teachers believe her to be a lost cause, and prefer to not waste their time on her.
The last thing to say about this girl is that she doesn't give a rip what other people think about her. She does what she loves and prefers to screw the rest. If other people find her strange or not normal in any way, then bloody good for them.

History:
Ellie grew up in a too-small house with four older brothers and a hellovalotta alcohol floating around. Her mother was absent practically all the time, never really feeling the need to check in on the horde of crazy children she'd created. Thus, her brothers and her father basically raised her.
On the theory that she could do whatever she wanted, illegal or not, as long as she didn't get caught, they raised her scrawny little ass from toddler to the brink of adolecence. The girl spent a lot of time as a child stealing things from local thrift stores just to impress the lot of animals at her house that found her pick-pocketing quite amusing. Everyone was usually drunk, especially her father, so she often felt like the only sane prescence for miles around.
Money was tight in that house, and Ellie often went without eating for a day or two. She didn't really mind. Stealing and scrounging off of others leftovers got her by, and anyways, she didn't want the cookie-cutter life that others of her age had. People in school found her weird, but she didn't give a shit, and often played hookie from her Muggle schooling, hanging around and smoking with her brothers instead of doing timestables and learning to spell. (She's still rather addicted to pipe tabacco and often walks around Hogwarts puffing away on an old pipe her brother refinished for her.)
Her first sign of magic came when she was ten. She levitated one of her brothers onto the roof one time when he made her mad. Her father found it strange, and ripped up the first letters that came from Hogwarts. But, eventually, Ellie snuck one up to the room she shared with her brothers and opened it to read the letter inside. Her father, a tempermental man if you ever saw one, was furious at her, and would have probably killed her had her brothers not intervened. She was shipped off to Hogwarts soon after that, and stays with her oldest brother during the summers.

Phoenix Feather, 10", Oak
Pets:

She's not terribly good at taking care of pets.
Special Possessions:
