Boredom is an evil creature. Pervading every inch of one's mind until said person can hardly think, let alone escape the malicious beast's wrath is hardly an act of compassion. It turns one's brain to mush and yanks any bit of interest one ever felt for anything away to burn on a flaming pyre of monotony in a cruel act of thoughtlessness. Tediousness goes hand in hand with this wicked monster, forcing any task done while one is bored to become the most tiresome, irritating thing ever performed on the face of this planet.
This malevolent dullness is even worse for someone whose entire life is centered on peculiar, extraordinarily gripping topics and particularly fascinating matter. Someone such as this becomes so insanely out of their mind when such a streak of boredom strikes them that they can hardly handle themselves. In fact, it is, if possible, worse for people like those described before, as they must trudge through tediousness unlike anyone else, for it is literally and physically painful for them to not be entertained in any way.
Such was the case with our dear Billium Nox on such a Saturday as this, when the Hufflepuff girl was holed up in the library, attempting to complete the multitude of essays which had piled up over the past week. Procrastination was practically the girl's middle name, especially when the project was something she disliked as much as essays. In fact, these long, unnecessary papers were up high on the list with the intensely irksome boredom she felt whenever she was forced to write the dreadful things, which was rather often, as they were quite common among the teachers at Hogwarts' favorite form of homework.
The girl had grown quite disinterested more than a half hour ago, but she'd stayed in the library, fooling her mind by telling it that she was doing work. In reality, she was leaning back, balancing her chair on its back legs and singing her favorite Beatles songs rather loudly to herself, her electric-blue-painted toenails a blur as she kicked her bare feet around under the table. Terrified first years looked on with those big, frightened eyes that were characterized to that specific age group, but Billie hardly noticed, absorbed, as she was, with remembering the correct lyrics of her beloved Muggle music.
