"He's honestly not that bad. He's quite nice once you get to know him. You and him are rather a lot alike. You're both a bit too flirtatious for your own good," Rosie laughed. "And besides, who knows? You two just might get along." She snorted at Victoire's joke. "You'd be the smartest Ravenclaw there ever was."

Victoire stuck her tongue out at her cousin, not letting it bother her. "I think maybe you don't flirt enough. What's life without a little drama, cousin?" She looked into the lake, a rare, thoughtful look on her face. After a few moments, she turned to Rosie and asked, "If I went swimming, do you think the merpeople would eat me?"
Rosie smirked. "Ah yes, that must be it." She'd never thought much about flirting or her love life. She spent too much time around her best friends, who happened to all be guys, to even think about that practically at all. In fact, if she started now, she'd probably end up feeling extremely awkward around her guy friends later in life. "Not if I came with you," Rosie answered jokingly.

"You may be joking, but I'm going swimming!" She replied, and stood. She backed away from the lake a few feet, and smiled. She begin running towards the water, and jumped, screaming, "CANNONBALL! as she did so. The result was a huge wave, that hopefully got Rose soaked, and a wickedly grinning Victoire as she came up for air. "So, are you coming or not?"
Rosie made a face at her cousin as she splashed the younger girl. She pulled off her sweater, underneath which was a white tank top, and stripped off her jeans, under which was a pair of guys boxer shorts. Okay, so maybe she had lost a bit of her feminine touch over the years. But at least she was still girl enough to want to keep her clothes dry. She ran to the side of the lake and dove in gracefully, coming up a moment later to spray water out of her mouth and tread water near her cousin.

"Little chilly, eh?" She asked, as she tried to doge the spit of water, with only half sucess. Might wanna be careful. Gotta think what's been in this water. Nice shorts, by the way. Teddy give you those?" She swam away, quickly, thinking that Rosie was going to hit her for that. Hopefully, she knew she was joking, though, you never knew with Rosie.
"Nah, it's pretty mild," Rosie answered, referring to the water. And it was. The black-tinted water was much warmer than it looked, even if had a slight bit of a bite to it. Rosie laughed at Victoire's attempt to joke. "I'm not worried. You look more appetizing anyways. And as a matter of fact, no. I stole them from him. And believe me, they're much more comfortable than thongs."

Yeah. Appetizing. That's the word. She grinned, easily, and dove under the water, randomly. She came up a second later and burst in a loud, long fit of laughter. She laughed so much it almost became difficult to stay above the water. So, she sank under, and laughed, there, too. She laughed until she ran out of air, and had to come back up. It was a while before she stopped. "Wow, Rose. She said, simply, still smiling widely. I don't think I've ever heard you say anything like that before. I think those boys of yours are starting to rub off on you"
Her cousin's laughter was incredibly contagious. Although she attempted to stop herself from actually cracking up, she ended up letting lose a bark of laughter. She supposed her friends were rubbing off on her. Maybe she needed more girl friends. All the ones she had were either related to her or completely and totally jealous because of her close contact with most of the coveted-after boys in the whole school. And envy was not a good thing for a relationship to have. "What?" she asked, feigning innocence, "They are. Honestly. I dunno how I ever survived before I started stealing Ted's in third year. Of course, he never notices. I make sure of that."

Victoire rasied an eyebrow, and looked at her cousin oddly. "You are one interesting little rose, ya know that, right? She shrugged, and shook her head, "How in the world do you....no. Nevermind, I'm not gonna ask. If I do, I'm gonna wish I hadn't" She smiled, and splashed Rosie, and dove under quickly before she could get her back.
Rosie rolled her eyes at her cousin. "You have such a sick mind, Vikki," she told Victoire, laughing and shaking her head good-naturedly. "Honestly, I dunno where you get it from." Rosie dove after Victoire, grabbing her leg and pulling her up to the surface so she could splash her with water. "Hah, gotcha."

"Eeep!" She came to the top and giggled, as she looked Rosie dead in the eye and said, quite simply, "I think I've been hanging out with Uncle Ron too much!" She tilted her head, and gave one of those Oh, yes! I went there kind of looks. She smiled as she got hit with the splash, knowing very well that if she got splashed again, she deserved it.
Rosie slapped a wave of water right into Victoire's face, grinning. "You know you're lucky," she said thoughtfully. "I would be offended if I didn't know that that was completely and totally true. My daddy's a total perv. I often wonder how Mum puts up with him."

"Luck. That's it" She said, nodding her head, sarcastically. "You know, some people call it skill, or intelligence, but no. You just have to say 'luck'" "I dunno. Well, I guess Uncle Ron has his whole 'funny and'...uh...'funny' thing going."
"What's wrong with being different?" Rosie asked, laughing and treading water. "Besides, luck is better than skill or intelligence, just to let you know." She laughed when Victoire talked about her dad. "Yeah, he's a character, alright."
