Walking the lonely shore line of the Black Lake can be well... lonely. It was especially cold, the wind making Nikita's raven black hair blow behind her. It was also pitched black to where it was extremely hard for her to see. Sure, she enjoyed the feeling of being cold, and the peacefulness she got from being in the dark, but she wasn't crazy about being alone at this particular moment. Another thing that pleased her was that the midnight sky was covered in bright stars. The moon was a full one, and it was a harvest moon. Big, and orange, it sat up in the sky, seeming to shine down only on Nikita. That's when she remembered. Remembered what you might ask? Well, it had been in the news paper. There was going to be millions of shooting stars, and possibly a meteor shower, some time around midnight. Her pale blue eyes searched the sky, and she saw a small glint of light flash quickly across the other non-moving stars. After the first shooting star flashed before Nikita's eyes, many others followed it's path. They streaked across the sky in different directions, making Niki's heart leap for joy.
Then suddenly there was something else that flashed across the sky. It was a meteor! Many followed after it, exactly like the shooting stars had. She quickly closed her eyes, as she wished quickly. 'I wish I could find true love' Her wish was even in her thoughts, as she tried to focus on just that thought. She opened her eyes back up, showing the excitement in them. She sat on the sand, and decided to watch the rest of the 'show' laying on the ground. She sighed as her back rested on the sand. She hoped her wish would come true, and that she would finally find love. Her heart thudded against her chest as she began to wonder who it would be. Who she would fall in love with, and hopefully spend the rest of her life with. Raise a family, and spend every second they had together, passionately. That's what she wanted. Someone who would love her without hesitation. Someone whom she would give her whole heart to. It seemed as if every shooting star that flashed through the sky, ended up in her heart making it pound faster and faster. They seemed to cut into her every second she waited. She wanted to pull her eyes away from the sky, but couldn't. The sky was too magnificent... too beautiful.
