Tess felt the moonlight upon her pale skin, making it even paler than it normally was. She had her head held high, as she gracefully walked onto the grounds. Her emerald green eyes shone bright, as her skin contrasted beautifully with them. She wore a very light gold color for her eyeshadow, along with the thin line of black eyeliner. She swung her long blond hair out of her eyes, that was now resting on her lower back. It reached down to the very just above her butt, evenly cut.
Tess arched her back slightly, making herself stand even more perfectly. She had on a dark colored skin tight tank top, the collar hanging low, but not quite too low. She had on a pair of shorts that were a gentle shade of gold. Moving down to her feet, she wore a pair of dark colored flats. She strutted along the grounds, finding her way to the Black Lake, quite easily. She held her head high as she sat down next to the water, pulling off her shoes easily. She let her toes wriggle, in the icy cold Lake water for a long time. She sighed, laying down on the sandy ground, looking up at the stars.

Brendon was finishing an essay for charms. His quill scratched the last sentance quickly wanting to finish. Finally he wrote the last word and put his stuff away. He looked round the Slytherin common room for Tess, but couldn't see her. He got up muttering to his friends about going for a walk and left the common room. His feet were on autopilot directing him to the lake while he was preoccupied with thinking up plans for revenge. He reached the lake and looked up looking at the glassy surface feeling more relaxed. He spotted a girl walking in the water and smiled as he recognised her. "Hey Tess! Fancy seeing you here."
Tess turned her head quickly, as she heard the familiar voice cal her name with excitement. A rather large smile spread across her face as she saw Brendon. She laughed quietly, and began responding with excitement also in her voice. "Yeah, you too. " She kept smiling at him, flipping her long hair over her shoulder. She walked over to him, shaking her wet feet. She soon stood directly in front of him, wrapping him into a sweet hug. She pulled away her eyes shining with delight.
"How are you? Been looking for me I suppose?" She joked, knowing that he loved being around her. She loved being around him too though. They were a lot alike. Well, it seemed that way to Tess. She looked deeply into his green eyes, loving the fact that she wasn't the only one of her friends with green eyes. 'Okay, Tess... get in your zone girl... don't mess this up. You can't humiliate yourself.' She though to herself trying to boost her spirit. Sure, Brendon was her best friend, but of course she wanted them to be more than that. I mean seriously... who wouldn't like a tan guy with muscles? Exactly. No one.

Brendon smiled at her and hugged her back. He loved being around her. They had known each other since before Hogwarts. Their parents are friends. Him and Tess had a lot in common and he enjoyed her company. "I was looking for you in the common room. I finally finished my charms. I just fancied a walk." he smiled. "Yeah I'm good you?" he asked. He was forever grateful that they both had emerald eyes. Though hers were prettier.
Tess let her smile fade as she turned her eyes back to the stars, listening to Brendon patiently. Her eyes turned solemn as she thought about her brother, and then her parents. Her parents had left each other, meaning that they had left Tess. After not being heard from for a long while, her best friend, Brendon came knocking. He had found her in the closet whimpering. Luckily Brendon's mom was nice enough to let her stay with in their home. Tess had been entirely grateful, even though the rules were rather strict. Her and Brendon had a curfew, and they couldn't be in each others bedrooms past hours. Kinda exactly like it was at Hogwarts. Tess agreed with these rules, just glad she had a few people that cared about her.
Then her thoughts faded from her problems and focused on Brendon's. He had lost his dad. He knew who had killed him too, which made him want revenge. That scared Tess, the thought of him murdering someone, or even someones. She shuddered, not wanting to think of her best friend sinking to that level. The level of the person whom had killed many people in a church. Including her very own brother. She had a feeling that if she heard of Brendon murdering someone she would be disgusted. She wouldn't want to talk to him ever again, although her feelings for him would win. She would have to talk to him eventually if that ever happened. She knew he would get revenge though. She just knew it. He wouldn't quit until he did.
Tess' eyes grew with sorrow, as she spoke once again, trying to focus on the question he had asked over a minute ago. She spoke quietly, with a sudden fear deep in her voice. "I've been better..." She drifted off, but then swiftly continued this time with full sorrow in her voice. "Do you think he's watching me? Or, what about them?" Her voice filled with hatred, but also sorrow like before, as she spoke the word 'them', meaning her parents, whom had abandoned her. "Do you think they are thinking about me? Or even care what they did?" She ended her question, turning back to look deeply into Brendon's eyes. "Or, what about your dad? Do you think he's watching you?" Her eyebrows furrowed together as she said this, her eyes plastered with his, not letting him look away. She knew how to get deep int his soul, and he knew it too. Although he couldn't help it but to tell her everything. She had a certain... emotion over him. But, he has that domain force over Tess. The force that can bend her to his will every single time. How weak she must seem to Brendon.

Brendon watched as the moonlight hit her skin making it really pale and smiled. His feeling for Tess had changed last year from that of friendship only to friendship and love. She was really beautiful, sweet, they had so much in common and he could trust her completly. Heck she was the only one at Hogwarts that knew about him dancing. He was eternally grateful that his mother had taken her in when her parents had abandoned her. Even though she was strict on curfews he didn't mind. He kept remembering the time when he had knocked on the door and then kicked it down and found her in the closet. It was horrible.
She had been so supportive and helpful to him just after his father had been killed. He knew that she was worried for him with the whole revenge thing. He wondered whether if he killed one of the Potter's or Weasley's she would ever talk to him again. He knew that this wouldn't stop him. He had sworn to avenge and avenge he will.
He looked surprised when she started talking. When she asked about his father his body tensed as it always did when he was mentioned. He shrugged "If your brother was watching you he would be proud of what you have become." he said smiling. He had been friends with her brother too he was a good guy. He took a deep breath "I dunno whether my father is watching. If he is I hope he would be proud."
Tess looked at Brendon, as he answered her quietly. She noticed him stiffen, but it didn't surprise her. She turned back to the stars, her mouth barely moving as she spoke. "I think he would be proud." She spoke with a hint of something else in her voice. She had wanted to say more, but she wasn't sure how he would react. She just decided it would be best to keep her mouth shut. She sighed, her eyes caught on the bright stars. Her hand found Brendon's in the dark easily, without her knowing it. She entwined her fingers in his, still not realizing what she was doing.

Brendon smiled at her and carried on stareing at the glassiness of the lake. He watched her reflection and smiled wanting to tell her how he felt, but not daring to because she only saw him as her best friend and he didn't want to jepordise their friendship.
When her fingers interlocked with his he felt an electric thrill from her hand in his. He squeezed her hand lightly feelihg happier than he had for ages. He suddenly wondered whether his mother would approve if she knew what he had sworn to do.
A slight turn of the head was all that Tess needed to take notice of their hands entwined together. She looked at the pair of hands, that had 'magically' found each other in the dark. She lifted her head up, her eyes watching Brendon with found eyes. She immediately fell into the familiar place that she always did when she was around him. Her heart melted solemnly, as she watched his jaw tighten, showing the muscles that lied on his face. Suddenly she couldn't breath, or at least she forgot how to breath. She got lost in his eyes again, which actually seemed to be the millionth time.
She slightly pulled her hand towards her stomach, bringing his hand along with hers. This brought Brendon closer to her, making him now stand precisely in front of her. She looked up at him, her eyes scared and begging. She opened her mouth to speak slowly, her body brushing lightly against his. "I'm scared..." She spoke quietly, hoping that he would answer the correct way. He was suppose to say, 'of what'. But would he? She just kept looking up into his eyes, their hands still entwined together.........

Brendon turned to face her looking into her beautiful emerald eyes getting lost within them. He smiled at her. His breath quickened excitedly when he saw her close the gap between them. He felt thir bodies touch and felt butterflies in his stomach. When he heard her say she was scared he put his arms round her protectivly "What are you scared of?" he asked.
Instantly, strong warm arms wrapped around Tess' tiny figure protectively. Her arms found there way around him in return, snuggling her face deep in his chest. She let her eyes drop slowly, as she listened to him quietly. She was happy that he had answered the perfect way, but of course she still felt sorrow, and unhappiness. She sighed into his arms, as memories flashed across her mind quickly. One after the other, each taking about two milliseconds to flash across her mind. I suppose you could compare the flashes of images with lighting, although the memories didn't come with the loud crackle of thunder.
Finally, Tess opened her mouth to speak, opening her eyes softly to make the images go away. "I'm scared of what you might become..." She said quietly, but also calmly. Her voice was shaky though, anyone would be able to hear that. She sighed into his arms again, feeling him go tense immensely. She couldn't look up at him... she just couldn't. She didn't want to see his expression. She wasn't afraid of him at that second though. Just afraid of what he would become once he got his revenge, which was irrelevant. She knew that he would get his revenge, even though if it wasn't on the people that really killed his father. He would be killing the children of the people that killed his father. Blaming them for what their fathers did. She let her hands drop slowly from his back, back down to her side.

Brendon smiled as she put her arms round him. He was taken aback by what she had said. "What I might become?" he thought confused. He raised an eyebrow and said "I don't know what you mean." He thought it through. "Was she talking about the revenge thing?" he thought.
Tess looked down at her feet, her emerald green eyes shining bright with solemnness. She sighed taking in what he had said. 'Oh, gosh... now I have to go into detail... wont this be fun...' She though side tracked. Looking back up into his eyes for the first time, she edged closer, her voice barely a whisper. "What I mean is... I'm afraid that you'll change into something different after you get your revenge. I don't want that for you... You can't turn into my brother's killer. Please don't turn like him, Brendon... I'm begging you." Her voice pleaded at him, although it was not asking him to stop trying to get revenge. She still knew deep down in her heart that he would get revenge, no matter how dramatic it was.
Tess searched Brendon's face, falling down to his lips. The last time she had actually looked at them was the last summer. She had been in her room, and it was past curfew, although that didn't stop Brendon. She heard the slight knock on her window, at about one in the morning. He had been smart enough not to take the hall way considering his moms room was right across from hers. She would be able to hear him sneaking down the creaky wooden floor. She had been laying on her bed, with Brendon next to her. They had been talking for about an hour until they were very close to kissing. But then his mother came in, scolding at them both. Brendon was sent back to his room while they both thought of the bizarre, but yet very romantic between the two.

Brendon watched her as she explained. He could see why she would say that. He knew that he was running the risk of it. He took a deep breath and said "Don't worry. I will never turn into him. I promise Tess." he hugged her "What if I do? She will never speak to me again." he thought worried.
He watched her study his face and stared hard at her lucious lips wanting to kiss her. He smiled as he remembered that night in summer when he had broken curfew and climbed out of his window into hers and how they had chatted. He then remembered his mum busting them when they were really close to kissing. He wished that she hadn't come in at that moment.
"Don't worry. I will never turn into him. I promise Tess." Those eleven reassuring words that Brendon spoke, were all that Tess needed to feel better. She could trust what Brendon promised her. She had no doubt in her mind about that. She gave him a quick hug back, but then pulled away again, still watching his face curiously. Particularly his lips. Oh, how she would have loved if Brendon's mother would've waited just two more seconds. It would have been the best night, and one of the most cherished between the two. She sighed again still thinking about the night.
Tess licked her lips, and began to speak quietly again. "I know... I don't know why I would ever think of such a thing, I'm so sorry Brendon. These emotions, and thoughts just come over me some times... not to mention the dreams." She added the last sentence without realizing it, and immediately cut herself off from speaking any further. She tried to act like she had meant to say it, but it was no use. She sucked at trying to hide the truth that seemed to always lie perfectly on her face. It would be so clear for him to read that she hadn't meant to say it, and regretted saying the five words. She kept her eyes away from his, trying hard to ignore the awkward silence that had grown.
