"Hey! I'm a hybrid, so I have very apt underwear!" He laughed, and it was true, he was after all part Veela. "But does that mean, I am also off limits?" He smirked in a mock flirtatious tone, wiggling his eyebrows a little for added effect.
He loved the fact that she always seemed to smile when she was around him, and more often than not the same could be said for him. She made him laugh almost constantly, and it was rare that she ever upset him. It was just how they rolled. "Being normal is overrated!" He laughed.
"Again, I'm only noticed because of my stupid Veela grandmother. And for the record, you may be a freak, but you're rarely in the corner. Usually you're behind their backs pulling one stunt or another." He laughed, ruffling her hair a little. "As for dying their hair purple, they'd possibly like that, maybe red would work better?" He suggested, obviously Slytherins would not appreciate sporting the Gryffindor colour on their heads for all to see.

She adapted her voice to a rather sultry tone. Fake like his, and just as mocking. "That's never stopped me, baby," she joked. It was amazing how well the two of them got along, considering how different they were. But they could joke about even the most serious stuff, and neither of them would feel the faintest bit awkward about it.
"Most definitely."
She agreed whole-heartedly on his comment. To her, there was no such thing as being normal. Everyone was different, so naturally, there could be no standard thing. No normal, regular place to measure yourself up to. What this particular Gryffie found annoying was when people tried to be like those around them, just so seem 'normal'. That's what she avoided and strived so hard not to be like. She was raw. Real in the best sense of the word. And shel oved every minute of it.
She appreciated, rather than took offence, at the fact that he called her a freak. He knew she didn't like to be anything she wasn't, and what she was was a full-blown freak. It was just the way she worked. "Or punching the hell out of their pretty faces," she added. The girl had a habit of getting in Muggle fist-duels. So much better than Wizard dueling, in her opinion.
"Okay, so maybe dying their hair isn't the best idea," she admitted, still laughing a tad as she said it. "Perhaps permanently vanishing their hair altogether? Angry bald girls on the loose." She paused for a moment to contemplate. "Has a nice ring to it, no?"
"Don't I know it." He laughed, shaking his head at her briefly, he was so relaxed with her, everything was easy with them, he didn't have to pretend to be a Quidditch fanatic, or anything else for that matter, he could just be himself, he could just be Louis, and he loved it.
"Or punching them in the face." He conceded, knowing far too well how she favoured the Muggle styles fights over Wizarding duels. "It does indeed have a nice ring to it, I think it could even be made into a theme tune." He mused pushing off the wall and moving back over to the window and glanced at the girls again, nodding to himself. "This could be good."

She winked a dark olive eye at him, cheeky and kidding as ever. "Keep it real, m'dear."
She was pretty bloody glad that he felt comfortable enough around her not to pretend. Ellie had met people that pretended around her, and it was probably the biggest turn-off to a person she'd ever found. It made her not want to talk to them. Why couldn't people in this day in age just be happy with who they were? Accept themselves and get the hell over it.
It was usually Louis who was bringing her to the Hospital Wing after particularly vicious Muggle duels, or simply bringing her to the Room of Requirement and fixing her up there. He was the one who picked her up off the floor and got her back together. And she was forever grateful to him for that. But she supposed that was just what friends did. If he ever got in a fight, she'd do it for him. But that was the thing with Louis.
He never did.
"See, Lou?" she said, her voice ever-so-light. "This crazy little brain CAN come up with ideas." She grinned and gestured her pipe at him. "After all, deary: have I ever failed you?"

He'd run out of digits to keep track of the number of times he'd taken her to the Hospital Wing and just gotten the same eye roll from Madame Pomfrey every time. The matron was never surprised to see them turn up, though he expected she would be if it was Louis who needed fixing up. He knew Ellie would help him get fixed up if he needed it, but thankfully if he did get into a fight it was usually a decent wizarding one, and thankfully he was rather handy with a wand.
"That crazy little brain always comes up with ideas, some which are more dubious than others I must admit, but no you've never failed me yet lovely." He smiled looking back at Ellie. This may be entertaining for a while, and the beauty of it was that no one would suspect him, after all he was Louis Weasley, he didn't exactly have a reputation as a prankster, and no one would notice Ellie. It was like getting away with murder.

She couldn't count the number of fights she'd gotten into in the past few years. Frankly, it was just the fact that she didn't really know when to stop. Well, maybe she did, but she really didn't like to. Provoking Slytherins was really a nice way to relieve stress, and if they felt the need to throw punches, then all the better for her. She had a pretty wicked repuation when it came to Muggle dueling.
One didn't want to fight with Ellie Rayne.
One of the main reasons she chose Louis for her pranking was that no one would ever suspect the innocent little boy of any mischief whatsoever. So, he could basically get away with anything. That was why he got the more dangerous of the two jobs. Being decoy was no easy pie, and she was quite lucky that she'd found a boy who did the job so well. Plus, he was fun to hang out with, and a kickass partner in pranking.
Besides, no one ever saw her. And if they did, Ellie could lie her scrawny ass out of it without thinking a thing of it. The teachers suspected her. Knew it had to be her. But no one could prove a bloody thing. And that was the way she liked it.
"And I don't plan to, handsome," she replied smartly, before grabbing his forearm and pulling him to the door. At that moment, she turned to him, her face framed and silhouetted in the light coming in from the door. For a brief moment, she looked almost genuinely pretty. But it passed as quickly as it'd come. "But I've got a snag in our little plan."
She was embarrassed to say it, but - "I dunno any bloody spells to vanish hair."

"Always a good thing short stuff." He laughed as he was pulled towards the door, he laughed a little as she mentioned the snag in their plan. Thankfully he knew the vanishing spell, it wasn't specific to hair, but it would work just fine, since he didn't have any of Uncle George's creams on hand. He had quite the collection of Weasley Wizard Wheezes merchandise in his trunk, but rarely brought it out on a run with him.
"This is easily solved. The charm is Evanesco, it works on anything so just remember to stay focused on the hair, ok?" He smiled, it wouldn't be unheard of for one of these charms to go slightly awry.

The Gryffie didn't mind being called short. After all, she was, and there was really no way to hide it, other than wearing heels all the time. Which, if one knew Ellie, was a laughable solution to any problem. She'd never worn heels in her life, which was probably a good thing. Tripping and falling would be the first thing she'd do in such shoes.
Her grin grew rather sheepishly. "Such a smarty-pants, Lou," she joked, winking slightly and pulling her pipe out of her mouth to continue. "Perhaps I should listen more in class." She paused, thinking for a moment and putting her pipe back in her mouth, holding it between her teeth. "Hmph."
At the part about focusing on the hair, she suddenly had a vision of accidentally vanishing their heads, and broke into a bout of chuckles. "What if I vanish their heads instead?" she asked, joking of course. But one had to admit, it was a funny proposition, and if done, would probably be up there with the best of her pranks.
"On accident of course."
Both of them knew it wouldn't be an accident should she do it. But it was phrased as such, knowing that Louis would know what she meant.

"I can't help it if I didn't sleep through my fifth year charms class, like some people." He shrugged but looked pointedly at Ellie. "But yeah, I'd say listening in class is good, at least occasionally, after all you do have your O.W.L.'s this year." He barked out a laugh as she mused about vanishing their heads, now that would be funny, but he wouldn't encourage her that much, vanishing would be dangerous, making their heads invisible however....
"Hmm, maybe just making their heads invisible would work, they wouldn't even notice at first." He suggested, smiling at his friend. Vanishing heads would actually remove the girls heads from their bodies. So he'd try and encourage Ellie towards the safer route.

"I don't sleep, dearest Louis," she told him, sounding rather high-and-mighty, but not exactly in a serious way. "There're much better thing to do than snore and drool on your neighbor. Like light the end of the professor's robes on fire and see how long it takes them to notice."
She thought for a moment. "Very entertaining, might I add. If you're ever bored, try it." The next moment, however, she was hearing what he said about O.W.L.s. "Screw those bloody things. It's not like I'd pass even if I studied."
Biting thoughtfully for a moment on her pipe, she finally removed it from her mouth and answered him. "Knowing me I'd probably accidentally kill them. Which I wouldn't really mind, considering how much space they waste, but I wouldn't wanna put murder or your pretty little head, Lou."
"Invisible heads it is."

He simply rolled his eyes as she mentioned some of of her preferred activities during class, and was for once thankful that he didn't share any classes with her. "You could pass if you tried." He sighed, closing eyes, he knew a losing battle when he saw one, and wasn't going to press the point about the O.W.L.'s.
"Yeah, you probably would. But thank you for not wanting me to go to Azkaban for murder, very considerate of you." He smiled, she really was one weird little girl. "Invisible heads indeed." He nodded slowly, thinking about what kind of distraction would be necessary to allow Ellie to pull this off.
my life is a poster pasted on a wall of forgotten dreams
Ellie knew her friend didn't approve of her classtime behavior. But she really didn't give a shit. He wasn't in any of her classes, so he didn't have to witness it. And if he flunked the year or got expelled, then it would be her loss, not his. So really, it didn't matter much what he thought. It didn't matter what anyone thought but her. In her opinion at least.
Sure, it sounded selfish. But it was her way of not being shoved into the mold of normal human life. And it worked out perfectly.
At his prodding that she could pass if she tried, she laughed. "Preacher man Weasley's making his debut," she joked, laughing rather heartily. She knew she could pass if she did indeed tried, but that was such a waste of time. Spending hours in the library when she could be outside. Such a hard decision.
"We could share a cell in Azkaban," she mused, knawing on her pipe. "You'd get a hellovalotta bored of me."
"Now, what's the spell for invisibility?" she questioned, sounding rather excited to get this prank on with itself, now that they'd decided the criteria for it. "Or is it too difficult for an ickle fifthie to do?" Most spells, after all, she would bungle one way or another. So he'd better be a pretty bloody good decoy. Or this wouldn't work out at all.

"Preacher man my arse, just a comment, and you know it's true, you'd just rather spend the tim doing other things." Louis laughed as Ellie did. "Share a cell in Azkaban with you? I'd ask the Dementors to kiss me first!" He joked, sticking his tongue out playfully.
"Invisibility, it's just a disillusionment charm, just make sure it's localised or they'll disappear completely." He explained. "So we all set?" He asked, he'd been far too well behaved this past week and part of him was itching for some mischief.

She laughed her full, raspy laugh. "That's because studying's a waste of time," she told him, truthfully believing every word she said. "When am I gonna use half these spells if I just get a job in the Muggle world?"
It was her plan once she graduated Hogwarts. It wasn't as though she could really live in the Wizarding world. It didn't really fit her. In fact, she might even just live with one of her brothers, and schmooze off of them for kicks. Or live a life of crime and steal all that she needed. Hell, she could do it.
"Probably the only thing that would kiss you, Lou," she joked, giving him a wink and tapping her pipe in her hand. She knew that half the girls in the school would die for a moment with Louis Weasley. He was considered attractive by the rest of the school's population. But to her, even that thought made her want to gag. To her, he wasn't Louis Weasley, hottest fifth year around, he was just Lou, the kickass guy she hung out when when she had nothing better to do.
The Gryffie gave her friend the double thumb's up sign. "Ready as I'll ever be." She pulled her wand out of her back pocket and twirled it around, plopping her pipe back in her mouth for safe-keeping. If one knew Ellie, they would know, just by looking at her, that she was ready for anything.

"I still don't understand why you want to go live in the Muggle world Elle." He said simply, shaking his head, he couldn't really conceive leaving the Wizarding world, it was all he'd ever known. Life was so much easier with magic, it really was.
"Thanks Ellie, thanks so much." He laughed, running a hand through his hair. He knew it wasn't true, he'd had plenty of offers during his life at Hogwarts, but had declined them all, and you wouldn't ever hear him say he regretted it. He'd rather hang out with his friends than run off with random girls.
He flashed Ellie a grin as she gave him the thumbs up, "Let's go then. After you." He smiled, motioning towards the door with his hand. This was going to be fun.
