The redhead walked down the trail to Hogsmeade. Her hat pulled down over her red hair. She pressed her gloved hands over her hair and half ran into Honeydukes. It was really cold out but Dominique was never one to stay behind during a visit to Hogsmeade, it was a chance to get out of Hogwarts and just chill out, without teachers watching you all the time. She walked deeper into the bustling shop, glad for the warmth the swarm of students offered.
She pushed her way between two seventh years to the back wall. She probably wouldn't buy anything, she just liked the coming here and just people watching. Yes she went to school with these people, but it was fun to see them in a different environment, plus it was cold outside and she didn't want to go back out yet. She saw someone very familiar on the other side of the shop, Louis, her younger brother. She pushed her way through the people, "Louis," She said as two fourth years got in her way, "Excuse me," She said pushing past them. "Louis," She said again coming up next to him. "Are you ignoring me on purpose?"
Smiling slightly as he heard the familiar voice of his sister Louis didn't respond instantly. In fact he seemed to become slightly more engrossed by the chocolate frog he was looking at. As she reached him he laughed and looked at the red head beside him. "Pretty much Dom." He smiled playfully, butting the frog back on the shelf and turning to look a his sister.
"Anyways sister dear how're you today?" He asked running a hand through his blonde hair, noticing once again that they really didn't look that much alike, it was odd, but there was enough of a resemblance for someone who didn't know them to say that they were part of the same family, if not guess they were brother and sister.

The sixth year looked over at her brother. She realized he was taller than her, even though he was younger. "Thanks a lot bro," She said jokingly, pretending to pout. "And how do you think that makes me feel?" She laughed a little. She scanned the shelves, picked up a box of chocolate frogs, saw the price and put them back down, there was no way she could afford that, not unless she wanted to go the entire year with nothing else.
"And I'm doing well, except for the cold. What about you my little brother." She smiled brightly, knowing he didn't exactly appreciate her calling him little brother, especially since they were in the same year at school, though he was younger than her. She continued to scan the shelves and, seeing nothing she wanted turned to look at Louis.
"You're welcome sis." He laughed at her fake pout, "And what makes you think I care how it makes you feel?" He was still only teasing her as he watched her look at the price on the chocolate frogs and put them back. He'd done the same thing, he had better things to spend his money on in all honesty.
"Don't start with the 'little brother' stuff Shorty, you're only ten months older than me! It's bad enough with mum doing that kind of thing, you don't need to start it too." He huffed, "But I'm good thanks. Plodding along nicely." He smiled as he looked ta his sister, before reaching for a box of liquorice wands and glancing over them.

"You know you care about me." She said brightly, "I'm your sister, and deep deep deep down you do care." She smiled, her bright face lighting up. She absentmindedly ran her fingers through her hair that wasn't covered by her hat, wondering how messy it looked. She knew the cold wind couldn't have been good for it so she decided she wouldn't take her hat off until she got back to her dorm where she could fix her hair.
"And shut up, I may be shorter but I am still older, even if it's only by ten months and we're in the same year." She narrowed her brown eyes at him. "And mom only babies you because you're the youngest. Dad does it with me too," She rolled her eyes, "I'm his little girl, blah blah blah, I've heard it a million times. But I can take care of myself." She smiled. "Yeah, wasn't that potions essay confusing? Or did you get it?" She asked. It was weird, but nice having her brother in her year, they could help each other out with work, even if it was annoying when he knew something she didn't.
"You're hair's fine." He sighed, far too used to both of his sisters worrying about how the weather affected their looks to even roll his eyes. "I only care about you because your my sister, and don't think I didn't ask dad if we could sell you a couple of times." He laughed, his blue eyes dancing. It wasn't true, while it was annoying having a sister in the same year as him, the pair were actually friends, not really close or anything, but friends nonetheless.
"Whatever Shorty." He smiled, rolling his eyes, "Mum babies me because dad's already claimed his right to do it to you. And I know you can take care of yourself, I've still got the scar from the time you tried to prove it!" He smiled, sticking his tongue out. "Vic got fed up of my whining about that essay, made me stay in library." He shook his head frowning a little, "But I got the hang of it in the end, and met this oddball too, though he seemed sane enough." Louis added.

Dominique just rolled her eyes, "Thank you, but what does a sixth year boy know about hair?" She asked still flattening it out. When she was satisfied it wasn't a disaster she stopped and pulled her fingerless gloves off. "And of course you did, and I've asked mom numerous times if we can ship you off to Aunt Gabrielle in France, I wouldn't suggested Aunt Ginny or Uncle Ron but they live too close." She joked smiling at him. It was nice to joke around with her brother, especially with no Vic or parents to stop them.
"And okay I have a deal, you stop calling me Shorty and I stop calling you little brother. Deal?" She asked, knowing he probably wouldn't take it, he liked rubbing it in that he was taller too much, at least she assumed he did, since he brought it up a lot. "And true, but it still bugs me, I've grown up and he can't accept it. Although he does admit that I remind him of Aunt Ginny when she was this age." She beamed at this, she loved her Aunt Ginny, she was amazing. "And I hope you still have that scar, it'll teach ya. Yeah I finally got it, but I asked my friend Dakota for help and he helped me, he's Ravenclaw." She explained. "And who's the oddball?"
"This sixth year boy grew up with you and Vic, the more pertinent question would be what don't I know about hair?" He laughed, rolling his eyes. "You really wanted to do that to me? Ship me off to France? Now that hurts Dom, that really hurts!" He said dramatically, clutching his shirt above his heart.
"No way! You're Shorty, end of." He laughed, he didn't care if she continued to call him 'little brother', he loved how much it got to her when he reminded her that while she may be older he could still hold things out of her reach. "Only if Aunt Ginny was a royal pain in the butt." He muttered, but still with a smile. As she mentioned Dakota he frowned a little before laughing, "Dakota would be the oddball. I didn't know you knew him. I kind of dragged him out of the library, made him stretch his legs." He smiled.

"Yeah true... and mom too, you and dad must be experts on hair by now." She laughed at the thought, her father had longish hair and her grandmother was always telling her about how he had it much longer when he was younger and she was always trying to get him to cut it. It was always fun going to visit her father's parents, then she got to hear stories about the whole family, and it was a big one. "And hey, come on France isn't so bad. Grandma and Grandpa are there, and so is Aunt Gabrielle. You'd have fun, and stop being so dramatic. It didn't work. Mom wouldn't let me, lucky she loves you."
"Fine, and you're the baby," She put her hands on her hips and looked up at him with her brown eyes sparkling in humour. "But remember this, I can do magic outside of school ten months before you can, and Aunt Ginny taught me the bat boogy hex. And according to Uncle Ron and Uncle George she was a pain, but a very talented and independent one." She smiled, "So I'm okay with it." Her eyes widened in surprise when he said that the oddball was Dakota. "Dakota and I have been friends for years, and don't call him an oddball, he's not." She blushed a little, remembering just a few days ago when she and Dakota had both admitted they liked each other, and she had kissed him.
Louis nodded, "I'm far too well versed in terms of hair for most guys, but hey it's what you get for having two sisters and a mother who are all part Veela." He sighed. "You know i hate it when we go to France, I hate having to speak in French, and Grandma just doesn't accept anything I say in English." He shook his head, he loved his family but they were just plain annoying sometimes.
"I can deal with that Shorty." He smiled. "Like dad's ever cared about any of us doing magic at home. As long as we don't break things and mum doesn't find out." He laughed, though the thought of his sister being allowed by both parents to do magic at home was slightly disconcerting. "He is an oddball, but in a good way. Like I said, he's alright." He paused for a moment as he spotted her blush, "What's with the blushing Dom?" He asking with a curious look in his eyes.

Dominique smiled and nodded, "Yeah you are. Poor you, growing up with two sisters who are part Veela, how have you made it this far?" She rolled her eyes. "Mon petit frère, le français est une belle langue, ne le déteste pas." She said in french, smiling. When he refused to comment spoke in English, "French is beautiful, don't hate it." Unlike her brother Dominique loved speaking French, and did on a regular basis.
"Sure you can," She muttered sarcastically. "Yeah Dad doesn't care, but soon Mum will have to be too, then you're dead." Dominique grinned at the thought of being able to perform magic and him being defenseless, he would probably cut her hair off while she slept, so she would bar her door with magic, just to be safe. "He's cool," She insisted, shooting her brother a disapproving look. When he asked her why she was blushing it made her blush more,"No reason, the cold..." She said quickly, too quickly. Now he would know something was up and he probably wouldn't give up until she told him.
"I honestly don't know how I made it this far Dom." He smiled, though he frowned as she spoke French, sure he understood what she said, and could've responded quite perfectly, he didn't instead he waited for her to speak in English, like she always did when she couldn't engage him in their mothers tongue. "I don't hate the language, just being forced to speak it by pushy family members." He sighed.
"Dead? I doubt it sis, you love me too much! After all I am you ickle brother." He smiled at her, sticking his tongue out at her. "And it's not like mum would get angry at me anyway, she'd just tell me not to do it again. Don't you juts love the perks of being the youngest! He laughed when her blushed deepened, forcing him to continue his line of enquiry. "Come on Dom-Dom, tell Louis the truth. Does someone have a crush on a certain Ravenclaw bookworm?" He asked teasingly.

"Yeah I don't know how I made it with you for a brother," She said sarcastically, examining a box of Pumpkin Pasties, she put them back on the shelf and looked over at him. "Still, it's so beautiful, I don't know why it would bother you having to speak it. It's mom's language, and language of romance. You want a girl to fall into your arms? Speak French to her." She laughed at the image. "She doesn't have to know what you're saying, you could insult her and she would still swoon, especially if she's a bubblehead."
"Of course, I love my ickle little baby brother so much," She rolled her eyes, "Yeah Louis, that's it, you got me." She said, resisting the urge to kick him in the shins. "And you're right, but I'm pretty sure I'd still beat you in a magic fight," She grinned in an evil but innocent way. Then he had to bring up Dakota again, "Shut up Louis." She said turning away from him so he wouldn't see her blush. She hoped her ears were covered by her hair, they had a tendency to turn red when she was embarrassed, something she had her Uncle Ron had in common apparently.
"Or you know I could just speak English so she can understand me." He rolled his eyes, "I agree it's a beautiful language, and I know it's mums language, but it's not mine." He sighed. He seemed to be the only one who didn't enjoy having to speak in French, but it didn't bother him.
He laughed as she rolled her eyes at him, and he saw the familiar look of her trying not to physically assault him, the'd both shared that look many times throughout their lives. "Don't count on it sis." Louis smirked, though he hated it when people underestimated her.
Laughing loudly as she turned away from him he spoke, "Aww, Dom-Dom likes him." He teased, poking her now red ear, "Come on spill, you kissed him yet?" He asked poking her side gently.

"Yeah you could, but then it wouldn't be as much fun for me while I'm hiding in the bushes spying on you." She said enthusiastically with a huge fake smile. The smile dropped off her face and she went from annoying fake preppy to normal. "And yeah it's not your language, but just don't upset mom okay?" She said looking at him in a sisterly, you better not, way.
Dominique put her hands on her hips, pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes at her younger brother when he laughed at her. He should know better than to question her ability, she could beat him and he knew it, it was other people who had trouble believing that. After all she was pretty short, and of course she was just a pretty girl, no brains in her of course.
"Louis, it is none of your business if and who I snog someone," She said turning around to look at him, "I can snog whoever the bloody hell I want to."
