Teddy chuckled and shook his head. Of course Harry would have nothing to do with his son getting in. He wouldn't go near the registration hall in the Auror section of the Ministry ever, it was probably the most busiest place in the entire Wizard community, well besides Diagonal Alley at Christmas. "See, there's your probably. There is a hefty amount of 'keeners' such as myself who wait to send it in at 12 midnight. And then there is all the people in between 12 and 6 who sent it in. I'm sure a letter will come any day now." he reminded James, with a small nod.
"So.." he tried at act casual, knowing how James got about his little sister. He leaned back on his hands. "Anything from Lily and Ander yet? It's going to be a matter of days before they start going out." he said, looking at the grass by his lap opposite of James.

James scowled at Teddy. He was like Ron in some respects. He didn't like his sister dating guys, "I know I should accept it but I can't accept that they are dating." he said smiling at the thought of Ron's jealousy about Ginny. "And it wasn't my fault that I couldnt get my application in. In case you have forgotten Ted I was going to send mine at the same time as you but ran into Charlotte on the way."
Teddy laughed as James scowled at him, throwing him a fake punch in his shoulder. "Aww come off it you blubbering idiot. Ander's a good kid, you and I both know that. He'll keep her safe, and since they aren't in the same house you won't see them making out in the middle of the common room." Ted laughed with a mischievous grin on his face. He knew how protective James got over Lily, it was actually quite funny sometimes. But other times he was just too over the top, like the last bloke she dated.
"Right, I almost forgot about that. I just remember falling asleep in the owlery until one of the Ravenclaw kid's woke me up to ask what I was doing. He was sending his application as well. I just decided to sleep in the owlery then, too tired to move. I got woken up half a dozen times from students from every house going to send in their applications." Teddy yawned, thinking back to how that wasn't the brightest idea he ever had, he fell asleep in all of his classes, getting woken up by Rosie ever few minutes so the teacher wouldn't suspect him.

James smiled massaging his shoulder slightly. As retaliation he threw a fake punch at Teddy's shoulder too. "That's what you get for being cocky and calling me a blubbering idiot." he said laughing. "I know Ander is a good kid and I know that he is in a different house but I wish that she would not date jerks and then when I tell her that he is one, I am the bad guy." He smirked at the thought of Teddy sleeping in the owlery "god I am gonna make Charlotte pay when I get the chance." He added.
"My god, what is this? Hit Ted day? First Vikki now you, I'm sure I'll say something that'll deserve a punch from Rosie later." he chuckled, rubbing his shoulder for a moment before picking at his shoelace. He chuckled as James told him his life story. He was in the same predicament, every guy Rosie had dated, Teddy would tell her how much a jerk that guy was, and she would get fairly anger with him, like go without talking to him for a three hours at the most. You knew Rosie was angry when that happened. But whenever the blubbering idiot would dump her, she'd run to his arms where he'd comfort her before going to beat his face out. He'd never tell her it was him, but after a few guys, she got the jiffs of what he'd been doing. "I know what you feel like, girls just don't seem to listen to us, the smart ones, do they?" he chuckled, shaking his head.
"So what's you're master plan to get Charlotte back?" Teddy asked curiously.

James shrugged "Dunno yet but will make it up soon. Any ideas?" he asked "I think that hit Teddy day should be a public holiday" he added smirking, "By the way are you going to hurry up and ask Rosie to the ball it's not far away." he said changing the subject off Lilly's boyfriends. He looked over to the pitch and saw some first years having flying lessons by madame Hootch.
"Let's just say nothing more on the matter. Frankly, I think a hit Ted Day would release my inner wolf on everyone." he grinned wolfishly, laughing gently as he looked over at the pitch, his eyes following one of the girls who seem to handle the broom quite well. He wondered what house she was in, maybe next year she'd try out for the Quidditch team.
A small blush formed on Ted's cheeks as James asked about Rosie. Had it been that obvious that he liked her so? Oh god, what if Rosie knew, and was doing this not to hurt his feelings? "Um.. well.. you see.. I'vekindalareadyaskedher." he said the last part in such a hurry and in a hushed tone he wasn't sure James had heard him.

James smiled at the wolfish grin and said "yeah I suppose you might get sick of it" It was lucky that he had good hearing as he was just able to catch what he said next "That's brilliant." he said "I wish I knew someone that I wanted to ask, but I have no clue who I want to go with. I hate balls."
Ted looked at James and smiled, but as he said he hated balls let out a small laugh. "You only hate balls because you can't dance, I saw you at whatever Weasley's last wedding. Seriously, there is way to many of them." Ted laughed again, now looking over the Forest. "You know, I'm planning to ask Rosie out at the ball." he said in another near whisper, afraid that she could come over here at any moment, or some chatting girls from Gryffindor for that matter. This time, he couldn't help the smile on his face.

James smiled and said "Well I can thank dad for my lack of dancing skills." he laughed then got slightly confused "I thought you had already asked her?" he asked confused. "I know that there are a lot of girls there but I havn't been out with anyone since Heather. And that ended badly." Heather was a muggle-born in Gryffindor that James had had a crush of for years, they finally got together last year but then she was attacked by Charlotte as a way to get to him and she blamed him and it was a messy break up indead.
Ted shook his head. "No, I asked her to the ball, I said just as friends in case you know. But I'm going to come straight out with my feelings at the ball, well if my hair doesn't get there first." he said, flicking his hands between his hair chuckling. He looked at James as he mentioned Heather and put a hand on his shoulder, he knew how tough that was for James, especially since she gotten attacked. But Ted was one of those over-protective boyfriends, so he knew Rosie was going to be safe. She was now, and they weren't even going out yet.. well, maybe was more like it. "Look James, I know it';s hard but you gotta forget about Heather. Seriously, she should of known the dangers of going out with you." he said before biting his lip. Was he sure about Rosie? Did he know what he was getting them both into? She would be his weak point besides his parents, and the Death Eaters would always go to her from now on if they wanted him. "You deserve better." he whispered.

James laughed and said "Yes your hair tends to give stuff away. It's a real party pooper Ted." he said. He smiled at Teddy comforting him. They had always stuck by each other for ever and comforted each other in times of sadness (when Teddy wasn't with Rosie that was). He then noticed that Teddy was worried and said "You are not putting her in more danger. She is second in command. She can handle herself." He looked away at a dot in the sky which was coming towards him. He saw it as an owl and his stomach clenched tightly. "Oh my god!" he whispered seeing the owl fly towards him. "This is it." The owl landed and held out his leg. James took the letter off and saw "Auror training admissions." on the front.
A grin formed across Teddy's face as the owl appeared what seemed like to be thin air. "Open it! Open it! Open it!" Ted cried, his eyes full of excitement, probably even more then when he received the letter himself. James deserved to become an Auror more then anyone he ever knew, James knew from the moment he first did magic, which was when he was still a tot, that he wanted to be an Auror. Ted didn't know until he started school. He grinned like a mad man and waited for his friend to open the letter.

James took a deep breath and opened the letter and read the contents. He was so shocked that he had to read it twice more. Finally a broard smile creeped across his face "Accepted!" He said loudly feeling like he wanted to jump up and down. "We're both going to auror training!" He was so happy that they had both got in. He didn't know anyone else he wanted to share this training and moment with.
Ted hugged his friend. "That's brilliant James! You better head to the Owlery and send a letter to your Dad and Ron." he shivered at the thought of Ron. He was actually slightly petrified of the man now, what would he think of Ted's ambitions with his only daughter? He shook it off as the bell chimed, telling him that Charms was over. He was quickly reminded of Ancient Runes. "I've got to go to Runes now, I'll curse Rosie if this class brings me down. Stupid girl for making me do the class in the first place. 'Please Ted, no one will do it with me, you are my best mate after all. Pleaseeeeeeee?'" he groaned, laughing as he stood up. He'd never forget that day of his third year ever, he signed up for all the hardest classes just for Rosie.
