Avery watched Teddy, and Rosie on the far end of the Forbidden Forest. He listened to the distant voice of Ted, as he insulted Corliss. His jaw clenched, and he looked at Corliss, and then back at Teddy. "Don't you dare insult her." Avery said to Ted, with sudden anger in it. His wand felt warm in his hand, and he thought of all the spells he could use on the wolf. His wand twisted, in his hand, a deep threat. Avery listened to Rosie's weak voice, as she awoke.
Ted could tell from his voice that he was planning on attack him. Ha, shoving your new girlfriend that you can play bad like the best of them? he thought, but never dared to say it out loud, looking down at Rosie again before he spoke. "You know Avery, you don't have to be afraid to jinx me, just because I'm Rosie's boyfriend. You've already sunken so low in her regards that it's too late to forgive. Well, for me at least, but knowing Rosie, you can still be forgiven. You know your options Bishop, love only lasts so long, friendship a little longer." he told him and then looked down at Rosie. That's why we'll last forever. he thought to her, smiling despite his corniness.

Corliss listened as Teddy insulted her. But, before she could make one of her witty come backs, Avery did it for her. She grinned like a madder as he stood up for her. Then she heard the wolf, trash talking her again. Her anger rose as the smile faded quickly from her face. She darted through the trees, running quickly. She was a good runner, many years of practice. She came into the thin layer of trees that Rosie and Ted were just outside of. Did they want to tango? "Well, trash me all you want. At least I'm not scared of someone smaller than me. I know how to fight. I don't cower away from it like some people here." she hissed, moving back slowly, she wasn't going to have a fight this close to the others. "If your so tough, why don't you prove it?" she whispered loudly, pressing her wand to her mark again. "Why isn't this working!' she thought angrily. She waited, not knowing what the wolf would do. She kept her wand at the ready. "You don't know that it won't last Teddy, you don't know how I feel about Avery." she said, still moving back.
Avery ran after Corliss, as she sped away from him. He wanted her by his side more than anything right now. He didn't want anything to happen to her. He stopped quickly as he caught up to her. He stood beside her still holding his wand tightly. He felt a smile spred widely across his face, as he heard what Corliss said about him. Avery slipped his hand through hers, and quickly squeezed it. Then he released his hold on her hand, letting it drop back to her side. Avery looked at Teddy, and then at Rosie. He twisted his wand in his hand, having a spell ready in his mind. He looked back at Teddy, and waited.
Rosie wriggled out of Teddy's arms, forcing herself to stand up and grip her wand tightly. She glanced at Ted before looking over at Avery. "You'd better not," she hissed, shaking her head and knowing that if he cursed Teddy in any way that wasn't immediately necessary, she'd never speak to him again. In fact, she'd curse the shit out of that sick excuse for a boy that was standing in front of her. Avery was simply a glass wall. He took on the appearance of whatever happened to be standing behind him at the moment. If he was such a chameleon, she didn't want to be friends with him anymore. Especially if he was the user as he was turning out to be.
Ted shook his head as Avery slipped his hand into Corliss. It was always worth a shot. He heard a few students flee to the castle, others staying to watch. When he heard the ones who had run off to the castle safely away he sighed and pulled his wand. He knew Corliss knew his weakness, to provoke him to a point, but he tried to stand his ground. "I don't believe I need to prove it to you Corliss, and maybe I'm not a the tough guy. But you know, I don't mind." Ted said, shrugging his shoulders. "And I wish the both of you good luck." he said, saluting the two of them with his hand and looked to Rosie. "You think you can walk? I need my arm in case they try to attack." he whispered to her, trying to stay calm.
Avery had raised his wand up slowly, before Rosie had threatened him. Hearing the threat, Avery lowered his wand back down to his side, and turned to look at Rosie. "Okay, I wont strike, unless he does. I also wont strike unless he insults one of us." Avery said his eyes darting to Teddy. He locked eyes with him, feeling the anger between the two. He couldn't stand Teddy, and he was pretty sure Teddy couldn't stand him. Why did Rosie, and himself have to pick people to go out with, that the other one tended to hate? Avery pulled his eyes away from Teddy's, and looked back at Rosie. Avery listened carefully, as Teddy spoke to Corliss, then to Rosie. Not knowing what to say to him.
Rosie glared at Avery before intertwining her hand with Ted's and looking up at him, "Let's go, Ted. I'd rather not waste my time on these two." There was no clear insult int he words she'd said, but it'd been implied. With one last look at the two Slytherins, she pulled Ted away, walking towards the castle with her tiny hand in his large one. She was fuming at the moment. How dare that bastard go out with her! How dare he threaten Teddy! Asshole...
Ted squeezed Rosie's hand as she intertwined their hands, feeling all the stares on his back as they turned to go back to the castle. They were always the couple to be looked at, because of their strangeness and height difference so he was used to the stares, but today them seemed worse. Probably because of Avery and Corliss. Ted sighed when they got closer to the castle and looked at Rosie. "Seems like you have had a rough day, let's just head back to the common room." he told her, knowing how much Avery had pissed her off.
Rosie smiled a bit as he squeezed her hand. She could see the abundance of eyes on them, which made her feel rather uncomfortable, but Ted's prescence erased that feeling immediately. She crossed the hand that was holding his across her body, so his arm was wrapped around her shoulders, and leaned against his side, her head not even grazing the top of his shoulder. "Thanks Ted," she answered, her voice sounding rather tired. This whole day had made her exhausted. Especially being put under the Imperius Curse, and throwing it off. Which was rather difficult for a girl of her slight proportions, as the effort usually caused her to fall over or crash into random objects. And that had a tendency to leave bruises and cuts. Never fun.
Avery watched as Rosie, and Ted walked away. He looked back to Corliss, and said softly, "Let 'em go, babe. It's not worth it." Avery looked into Corliss' eyes, his eyes turning soft. Then he noticed how tense, and aggravated she looked. "You need to relax." He told Corliss' softly, and urgently. He took her hand, and started to walk out of the Forest, and then towards the castle.

Corliss went rigid. Her heart was pounding in her throat. "How dare they insult my like that!" she hissed through clenched teeth. Both of the stupid Gryffindors knew good and well Corliss hated not getting what was right. Or what she though was right. She watched the cowards talk to one another before making up their wimpy minds to go back. "Wimps. Blood traitors alike! Oh how I hate those to cowards!" she whispered with the hate clear in her voice. She paid little attention to Avery. ""Let 'em go, babe. It's not worth it." She turned so she was in front of him. Her glare intent on setting him straight. "Not worth it! Did you not see how they insulted us! They are cowards Avery! They can't even face two sixth years! They turned and walked away, begging for us to curse them knowing good and well we would be caught. Do you not see!" she whispered, getting close to him. She put her forehead on his chest. The defeat still raging through her emotions. "You need to relax." That did it. She looked back up at Avery, who still didn't seem to get the fact of what had just happened. "How can I relax when that just happened?" she asked. "Oh no. What happens when the others find out? What will Charlotte do? Will we be punished? If we are, how bad will it be?" she thought aloud. Her mind was racing, she had never been in trouble with Charlotte. Never. Was this what it came down to? Not caring if the teachers found out if you cursed the living hell out of another student under their nose? Corliss put her head back on Avery, shaking in frustration and fear.
