James laughed slightly and muttered "show off!" He looked back to the castle looking for Rosie. He kicked off and flew round the goalposts throwing the quaffle and chasing after where he threw it and catching it again as quick as he could.
"Right here," Rosie answered, in reply to Zane's question as she swooped by on her Cleansweep Eleven, the small bat that served as her only protection against the psycho advances of the Bludgers clutched loosely in her left hand. She was grinning widely, a few loose strands of her auburn-brown hair blowing in the wind and her robes flapping around her. Flying was, after all, one of her favorite activities, even though she hardly had any time for it anymore, with all the homework of her seventh year as well as the New Order to help organize and run.
She'd headed up to the girl's dormitories in the Gryffindor Common Room on the seventh floor to grab her broom, change quickly, and pull her hair back into a hasty pony-tail, which had failed to do its job in keeping her hair out of her face, as a few pieces had already come loose. She'd then hurried down to the Quidditch Pitch, grabbing her bat from the Broom Closet before taking off and flying towards her friends. After all, flying was faster than walking.
Teddy ducked as Rosie flew over his head, laughter erupting in his chest as he mounted his broom and kicked off, zooming off. He hadn't flown since the summer, so he'd do a quick warm up before he took the bat in hand. He started off easy, with two laps around the pitch before he began the fancy stuff like twirling around the goal posts and cork screws, as Zane had been doing before. He looked over to Zane before pointing towards the change room, swooping down to retrieve a Beater's bat.
Five minutes later, Teddy returned to the field, one of the bat firmly gripped in one hand as he flew around the field, before flying over to Rosie. "Well, this doesn't seem too hard." Teddy shouted to his friend, swinging the bat around a couple of times. Really, how hard could this be?

Zane smiled and shouted over to Teddy, "Prepare yourself Teddy, everyone else try and steer clear we don't want any broken limbs," Fitting easily back into his Quidditch Captain's role. Zane opened the straps on one of the bludgers. It flew out of the box and headed straight towards Teddy.
Hmm Teddy's quite a good flyer, just need to see whether he can keep the bludger away from the rest of the team. Zane hopped back onto his broom and soared upwards to join Rosie. The snitch was still fighting to get free in his hand, but for once he didn't let it go. After all he did need to concentrate on Teddy.
Teddy watched as the bludgers came zooming out of the box, both heading towards him. Okay, so this looked a lot easier when Rosie did it. he thought to himself as he flew towards the first bludger, determined to hit it. It was a complete fail however, as he went to hit it with his bat it completely moved to avoid the bat. Embarrassed to say the least (his whole face lit up just as the Weasley's did when they were embarrassed), he was determined to hit the next one. And he did, but it only went about 30 feet away from him. That wouldn't do for Teddy however and he began to fly away, knowing the two bludgers would chase after him.
This time when they were close enough, Teddy hit both of them, exceeding his 30 feet away, actually, he had hit them pretty far. he wasn't sure how far though, because by that point they seemed to be getting angered with him. They continued to fly back and him with great force. And he continued to beat them away, finally starting to master how to direct his shots especially for sneak attacks above and below him. Heck, he could see why Zane was so in love with this game now.
Rosie tried her best not to laugh when Teddy missed the first Bludger, though it became exceedeingly difficult, after they began to chase him around the Quidditch stadium. He was good. Better, at least, that Rosie when she'd tried out for the Team in her second year. But, then again, he was a seventh year, and practiced Quidditch with the Weasleys and the Potters every summer.
"He's not bad, Lestrange," Rosie murmured to her companion, a smile breaking over her face as she watched Teddy get more into his role as Beater, "I'd say good enough to be on the team. You?"

Zane watched Teddy intently as he was chased around the stadium by bludgers. He seemed to be enjoying himself and getting into the character of player Beater. He watched the swerves, corkscrews and a couple of cracking hits, which were pretty impressive just for a trial run. Zane remembered that Teddy practiced with the Weasleys and the Potters over the holidays, he was talented. "Look out Teddy, it's coming back at you..." Zane shouted but Teddy had already tackled the approaching bludger sending it off towards the stands.
"Hmm yes I'd have to agree with you on that one, Weasley. He'll suit scarlet and gold quite nicely. I'm sure he'd be willing to eat crumpets whilst partaking in quidditch practice."

James watched Teddy hit the bludgers and smiled "He is really good." he thought. He heard Zane and smiled "I think Teddy won't have any problem with the crumpets aspect of the job." he laughed.
Teddy noticed that the three members of the Qudditch team had gathered to talk about him, but he kept hitting the bludgers out of the way. One after the other, they would soar through the air after a good beat, and yet, Teddy arm only just began to hurt after what felt like the hundredth hit. Probably the werewolf gene in him, making him stronger then he really should be. Finally he narrowed his eyes on one of the bludgers and gave it a good smack, sending it head-on into the other one, both of them falling to the ground for a moment before flying around again, sick of Teddy to continuously hitting them away. He found this the perfect time to fly over to Zane, who would have the final say in this.
He stopped his broom in mid air right in front of his three friends with a wide smile on his face, confident that he had done his best. "Well Captain, what do you think?" he asked, a crooked smile on his face as he slung the bat under his arm.

"Yes I'm sure he'll have no trouble," Zane said whilst watching Teddy attacked the bludgers. Yes, he was good. Really good. But why hadn't he tried out before, well seven years before? Teddy and Rosie would make a great pair of beaters, unstoppable and slightly uncontrolable. Imagine the look on Charlotte's face when she saw the dream team in action. Come to think of it, the whole of the Quidditch Team were members of the New Order, well best stick together. As Teddy approached and hovered just in front of them, Zane smiled and then said,
"Just one question before I tell you my verdict, are you willing to eat crumpets, go out in all weathers and times of day to train with your crazy-crumpetloving-keen-nearly-as-bad-as-Wood-but-not-quite-but-very-nearly Quidditch Captain?"
Zane laughed before mounting his broom and heading off towards the goalposts. Weaving in and out of them before spiralling back down to the ground from 5o feet. Such were the joys of Quidditch.
Teddy smile widened as Zane began to speak. He had gotten the position! He was now a Beater of the Gryffindor Quidditch team! "Of course Zane, I've never had a problem with crumpets before!" He laughed, his hair turning a bright red with two gold lightning streaks in his hair, to represent Gryffindor colors. He beamed back at Rosie, his new partner, and James before flying off after Zane. His Arrow may not be as fast as his Firebolt, but it definitely wasn't the slowest broom out there.
Rosie beamed when she heard Zane accept Teddy onto the team. He'd done it! Grinning madly, she flew up next to him and gave him a hug. "Well done, m'dear," she told him, crinkling her nose a little in happiness, her face resembling that of a badger. Still smiling, she did a victory lap before landing heavily on the ground and leaning on her broomstick. Though she was happy for her friend, she was also quite tired, and still had a lot of homework to do.

Teddy beamed as Rosie gave him a hug, and returned it, not before he could flick her badger face nose with a laugh. "Thanks Rosie." he smiled at her, before following her, taking his own victory lap. He smiled happily, flying around the pitch a couple of times before he noticed Rosie down on the ground. He landed close to her and ran over to her, noting her tired expression. "You want to go back to the castle now?" he asked, figuring that she had a ton of homework still left. Heck, he did too, but he had even thought about finishing it. But Rosie was one who always had her homework done. And someone had to go with her, to make sure she didn't get attacked by the Terrible Trio.
She didn't want Teddy to miss out on his first few hours of being the new Gryffindor Beater. He should have been flying around, trying out new training techniques with his new Captain, Zane. She smiled, thinking about how fun this whole year would be, especially with Ted as her new partner in crime on the Quidditch Field. She supposed he didn't want to go in just yet, and she wasn't going to ruin the fun just because she had homework and needed to study. "Nope," she answered, grinning at him, "We should celebrate though! Sneak down to Hogsmeade or something. I mean, c'mon! You're the new Gryffindor Beater! That's gotta be cause for celebration!"
