James was sitting in the corner of the kitchen watching this exchange not wanting to get involved. He didn't really know how he thought about his best friend dating his little sister. He knew that this was stupid as Dad was Mom's brother's friend. He sighed quietly knowing he would just have to get used to the idea. However when she said that she loved Zane his eyes went wide "I thought she had a crush on him I never thought it was as serious as love." He looked between Teddy and Lily still slightly shocked "Did I hear you right Lils, you love him? I thought it was just a crush.""That makes it even more complicated." he thought slightly angrily.

The whole team had left hours ago, leaving Zane flying around the pitch on his own. Yes it was pitch black, but the small oil lamps provided just enough light to see the tiny glittering snitch flying around the field. James had left half an hour ago, but Zane wasn't ready to give up yet, determined to perfect a new move he had dreamt of. So far it hadn't worked out and this was the fourth attempt. About to start the fifth attempt, a loud grumble came from the clouds. Looks like it might be about to... a raindrop landed on the top of his head. Looking up into the overcast grey clouds, several more raindrops hit Zane's face. He quickly cast the Impervious charm on his robes so they wouldn't get soaked. There was nothing he could do about his hair getting into a state, afterall it was already a mess. Another dive, roll, dodge and slight corkscrew later the heavens had opened. Sighing slightly in disappointment, Zane descended to the ground, just as a fork of lightening lit up the pitch. Zane quickly made his way up to the castle, dropping the Firebolt off at the broom shed, not wanting to get caught out in the storm.
Prising open the small side door, Zane stepped into the entrance hall. He brushed some of the raindrops off his face, quickly scanning the surrounding area for any teachers or prefects. None in sight. Good. I could really do with some crumpets right now. He thought as he turned towards the direction of the kitchen. Can I risk it, considering what happened last time? Yes of course... He walked down the corridor, stopping outside the portrait of the fruit bowl. He was sure he could hear voices from inside, but of course, he couldn't tell who they were. He tickled the pear, hearing it giggle quietly, before the portrait swung open. Rounding the corner he caught sight of Ted, James and Lily, who had her back to the door. He opened his mouth to say hi before he heard the words, "I love Zane."
Not hearing the boy she liked enter the room behind her, Lily scowled at her brother. How could he ask her that? She had just said, flat out, that she thought she loved Zane Lestrange. "James Sirius Potter. Do I lie? Well, alot? Would I lie about this? Hell no. It doesn't matter though. You know it doesn't. I won't have a chance. No chance what so ever." she said, sinking into a chair, her back still to Zane. She dropped her head, not wanting to meet the gaze of either one of the boys she knew wer in the room. "Don't worry about it, James." she said, her voice catching. She took a deep, shaky breath, letting it out slowly.

Teddy's eyes looked to James. But before he got a chance to say anything Lily began to go off at him about how she would never have a chance with their captain. He sighed, hearing her sit down, but also hearing footsteps. They sounded heavier then a house elf usually would sound, so he only assumed it was a fat one. As he opened his eyes to look at Lily sadly, he looked over her back and his mouth went a gape. Judging by the look on Zane's face, he had indeed heard Lily's outburst. He took and quick intake and whisper so quietly, he was sure no one would of heard him. "Zane.." he whispered, his body numb, uncertainy filling the room.
Lily's body froze as soon as she heard that one small word form Ted. Zane.." She had to remind herself to breath. Nothing she could think was helping her. She knew he had heard what she'd said. She also knew she had no color to her face. She had felt the blood dairn form it. She couldn't turn around, she couldn't even speak. Her eyes locked with Teddy's, her heart racing. In a mess of pure panic, Lily strained to turn around. No matter how hard she tried, her body refused to listen to her. "No.." she mouthed to Teddy, her emotions flooding through her. There was no way that just happened. No way....
