Avery leaned his head back trying not to explode from agony of what to do. He looked at Rosie his eyes pleading. Rosie didn't know how hard it was to be in his position. "Rosie...I need help. I have no idea what to do. I am going to hurt people either way I go. Am I hurting people being mutual? Please Rosie, help me."
Rosie walked over to him and reached out her arms to envelope him in a hug. She knew it was difficult for him. His House wanted him to be on one side, while one of his closest friends was calling him to be on another. Being torn between two sides was not an easy thing to do. Rosie knew. She'd been through it too. The Death Eaters had the easier job. There were more of them, and they didn't have the honor not to use Unforgivables. However, the New Order had it more difficult. Their numbers were dwindling, and they knew they couldn't use Unforgivables, because they knew that those Curses were wrong. "Avery, you know what the Death Eaters do. You've seen them do it. They hurt people. If you stay with them, you'll have to too. I can't decide for you, and I can't really help you either. I mean, it really is you choice."
Avery stood up to hug Rosie. He was glad that he had a friend like her. She would always be there for him. he had no doubt about that. He released Rosie, after a comforting hug. He looked at her, his eyes still pleading for help. He sat back down, and out his head in his hands, trying to figure out what to do. He let his hands fall from his face and hit the table. He took the right hand and brushed it through his hair, in one quick motion.
He decided that he should begin talking now, "Rosie...I don't know, if I should tell you something. This something is stopping me from joining a side." Avery shook his head back in forth. "I..." Avery began but he stopped. He didn't know what to say. All he knew was that if he chose a side many people would get hurt. Including the two most important people to him in the world...Rosie, and...
Rosie buried her head in her friend's chest as they hugged. He was monumentally taller than her, perhaps a head or more. Mostly all the seventh years were taller than her, making her feel younger than most of them. Which she was. She was still sixteen, and would be for quite sometime. In fact, with the way the war was going now, Rosie wasn't sure she'd even reach her seventeenth birthday.
"Just tell me, Avery," she answered, pulling out a chair and sitting down, her legs crossed, indian-style. "I'm sure it can't be THAT bad. I mean, it's not like you're dating Corliss or something." She paused, a horror-struck look on her face. "Oh God, please tell me you're not dating Corliss."
Avery couldn't look at Rosie anymore. He never wanted to hurt her. He thought if he waited longer to tell her though she would be hurt even more. He just hoped that she would forgive him. Avery listened to Rosie, very carefully. When he heard her last sentence she spoke, he said, "Rosie, please forgive me." Avery's voice was as begging as ever. He wanted nothing more than Rosie to forgive him. He fought hard to get rid of the lump in his throat, but it was to big.
But she couldn't. As realization dawned on her, Rosie's jaw clenched and she put her face in her hands. She couldn't believe it. What on Earth did he see in the monster? Rosie coudln't guess. And she didn't want to. If he was going to be such an idiot then let him stay a Death Eater. Let him get killed off. Thinking this, she stood up from her chair and, without a word, took her bookbag and left the library. If he though she would take this crap then he was wrong. She'd never forgive him.
Avery realized that Rosie was leaving the library. He hoped up not grabbing his books. He didn't care about his books at the moment, he cared about Rosie. He chased after her hollering every step of the way, "ROSIE! ROSIE! ROSIE!..." He ran in front of her stopping her from going any farther. "Rosie please!!! Listen to me!" He yelled. If Rosie didn't forgive him, then he wouldn't forgive himself. The worst thing would happen to him. Suicide. "Rosie..."
Rosie spun around, glowering at her friend. At the moment, she didn't exactly see him as a friend. For the time being, or until he dumped that bitch of a girl, he was just another Slytherin. And she would hate him as one. "Why should I?" she asked, crossing her arms angrily, "As I recall, you haven't been listening to me. Didn't you hear me when I said she CURSED me? Good Lord, Bishop, it's like you haven't got ears or something." With that, she turned back around and continued to stalk down the corridor, getting a strange look from basically everyone in the hallways. In fact, for the time being, her and Avery's conversation was the main attraction in the very boring lives of most of the Hogwarts population.

Corliss looked along the books, searching for one of the potions variety. She pushed a blond hair off her cheek, listening for any disturbance. She had seen Avery before lunch, but not at the table. She had hurried through the meal so she could get her homework done before tomorrow. As she neared the end of the shelves she heard the Weasel's voice. "I'm sure it can't be THAT bad. I mean, it's not like you're dating Corliss or something. Oh God, please tell me you're not dating Corliss." The Slytherin laughed. She wasn't dating any Gryffindor, well she thought Rosie was talking to some low life Lion until, "Rosie, please forgive me." was heard, coming from no other than Avery Bishop. Corliss's jaw dropped. 'Did he really just ask the Weasel to forgive him?' she thought. Sure enough, seconds later Rosie stormed by, Avery nipping at her heels. Neither of them saw her, so she kept on listening. "Rosie please! Listen to me!"the traitor pleaded."Why should I?" As I recall, you haven't been listening to me. Didn't you hear me when I said she CURSED me? Good Lord, Bishop, it's like you haven't got ears or something." she heard Rosie say. Corliss was pissed. More than pissed really. How could Avery ask forgiveness for dating her! She kept to the shadows, listening to the talk. Quickly, she thought it best to change. Slowly, cat Corliss walked out, purring at the two. She rubbed against Rosie's leg, meowing for her to pick her cute kitty self up. 'Good thinking Corliss. Good.' she thought.
Avery felt anger wash over him. Rosie had NEVER called Avery by his last name. He let all of his anger out, he couldn't hold it in anymore. He grabbed the closest book of the shelf, and chunked it at the wall. BAM! It made a loud noise as it clashed against the wall. The people outside looked inside to see Avery, at his angriest moment. It was not a pretty sight. "God Damn it, Rosie!!!!!" He hollered, meaning for Rosie to hear it. He walked up to the wall he had thrown the book at, and leaned his head against it looking at his feet. His hands were in tight strong fists. he put them up against the wall. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BAM!! Each fist pounded fiercefully pounded against the wall two times. The BAM!! that was heard, was Avery's foot kicking the wall. Avery stepped back and looked at the wall. There were two big dents in the wall, and almost to the floor there was a small one. Avery turned around, and leaned against the damaged wall. He slid down, sitting on the floor...his back resting on the wall. He put his head in his hands, feeling weak.
Avery thought about Corliss. If she couldn't stand the fact that he was friends with Rosie then they wouldn't be together for long. If Rosie didn't accept the fact that he was going out with Corliss, then they would be done. He was going to try to get both of them to accept it. He loved Corliss in a girlfriendly way...but, he loved Rosie in a sister kind of way...or possibly a best friend kind of way. He wanted Corliss to be with him forever...but, he wanted Rosie to be his best friend forever.
Rosie kept walking until she felt a furry something rubbing against her leg. She leaned down, examining the cat. No one left their cats out in the corridors. It was against Hogwarts policy to have any animal in the hallways or in classrooms. That was, unless your owl came to the window with a letter during one of your classes. In fact, the only place it wasn't against the rules to have an animal was in the Common Rooms. So this was extremely strange. This whole encounter was. Unless...
Rosie picked up the cat with one hand, the other pulling her wand out of the back of her pants. She muttered a spell under her breath. The same that Remus Lupin and Sirius Black had used to reveal her father's rat, Scabbers, as mass-murderer, Peter Pettigrew. Instantly, the cat began to morph into the crouched over human form of Corliss Malfoy. "Oh Lordy," Rosie sighed as the figure began to take shape and leap onto the ground. "Speak of the Devil..."
As she said this, she could hear Avery shouting at her. But she wasn't looking back. If he wanted Corliss, then let him have her. Rosie would step aside for the girl. But her and Avery didn't have a chance at friendship if he was going with the Malfoy girl.

Avery was still sitting on the ground with his back against the wall. Then all of a sudden he hoped up and sprinted out of the library, searching for Rosie. He spotted her...she was holding a black cat in one hand... What was an animal doing here? He continued to chase towards Rosie. He stopped urgently once he was close enough to her. "Rosie..." He panted. He was going to continue, until he noticed the cat turning into Corliss. Well, shit! He thought to himself. This sucked. He was going to be with Rosie, Corliss, and himself, all at once. Oh Joy!
Rosie hitched her worn, brown leather bookbag farther up on her shoulder before turning to look at him, her bottle green eyes rather icy for the time being. She wouldn't treat him as a friend. For, at the moment, he wasn't a friend. He was merely a Slytherin boy whom she'd once known, but had grown distant in a matter of seconds. "What?" she asked him, her voice rather snappy, sounding a tad bit annoyed.

Avery finished panting, staring at Rosie with pleading eyes, "God, Rosie! Don't be like that! Please, don't be like that." Then it donned on him. He had hated Teddy, and Rosie had known that for years...then Rosie went out with him. Avery had excepted that even though he hated Teddy! He had stayed close with Rosie! He didn't treat her like dirt, like she was treating him now! Avery decided he should speak out, "You remember when you started going out with Teddy? You became really good friends with him? I accepted it! Even though I couldn't stand his guts, like you can't stand Corliss's! I treated you right! I didn't treat you like nothing, like you're doing to me!" Avery said to Rosie, hoping it would sink through. Hoping she remembered it. Surely she did!
Rosie shook her head. "You're forgetting one important thing, Bishop," she answered, shaking her head and crossing her arms, her voice annoyed again, "Teddy hasn't ever sent an Unforgivable your way. You, of all people, I thought would understand. But, apparently not. Besides, Teddy's a good man. Not a self-absorbed bitch like some people I know." With this, she turned to glare at Corliss for a moment before looking back at Avery.
