It was one of those days again. When Rosie didn't feel like talking to anyone, and didn't appreciate classes like she usually did. In fact, they were down right annoying as hell, and she often skipped them. No, she wasn't depressed. But, often, at Hogwarts, it was difficult to be alone. Thus, people like Rosie, who needed time to themselves sometimes, would be forced to cut classes and wander out of bounds to get the desired lonliness that helped them. Of course, this time, Rosie'd chosen the Forbidden Forest. And not soon after she entered, she heard a rustling in the shrubbery up ahead.
Rosie was watching from just outside the clearing as the girl, Destinee performed all three of the Unforgivable Curses on a bug, before killing it with an evil glint in her eye. And of course, Rosie, who couldn't stand cruelty in the least, stormed into the clearing. "What the bloody hell'd you do that for?" she asked, her bottle-green eyes flashing.
Rosie rolled her eyes. "Yeah, like I haven't heard that one before," she answered, "And why on Earth would you 'practice' on a living creature? It's cruel and inhumane." Of course, Rosie knew that Destinee was a lost cause. She was, after all, a Slytherin, and part of the DE. How bad could someone get?
Rosie rolled her eyes again. "Anyone who's stupid enough to try that is too much of an idiot to have the power that those spells reap. And how dare you suggest that I'm stupid. I'd NEVER use one of the Unforgivable Curses, even if I was at the edge of death."
"Anyone who uses an Unforgivable is an idiot," Rosie answered simply, "So I suppose I am calling you one. Of course, if you'd simply not use them, then there wouldn't be a problem, right?"
"Spying on you?" Rosie asked, incredulous, "No, I was just ditching class. I didn't feel like going today, and Ted wouldn't come with me so I left alone. And I came here, 'cause I wanted a little peace and quiet. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any." She deliberately ignored the girl's insults as well as deliberately mentioning her friend, who she knew the Slytherin girl had a bit of a crush on.
"Oh, I dunno. Maybe because he's my best friend? That's at least better than you can say of him, lover girl," Rosie said, smirking. She'd forgotten how she'd figured out about Destinee's crush on Ted, but she'd figured it out somehow.
"Threaten all you like, Fox," Rosie answered, laughing a little, "We'll see about it when the time comes." Rosie could hardly keep herself from laughiing at the Slytherin girl's threats. She knew Teddy. And he was much too devoted to the New Order and his friends to even consider going out with a Death Eater. But at the same time, she sorta felt sorry for Destinee. The poor girl had such high hopes.
Rosie smiled at her. So she was gonna try and push her over the edge, was she? Well, Rosie wouldn't break. It was something she was good at. "He wouldn't," she answered smartly, ignoring the rest of her question. "But I'd really like to hear what you've got to offer him, Fox. So I can help him make a pro-con list later."
"Don't you dare call my father filthy, you insolent little bitch," Rosie answered, flaring up immediately at the mention of her father. She loved her dad, and if anyone ever talked crap about him, she was the first to know and do something about it.
Closing her eyes momentarily, she attempted to regain her composure. Finally, she did, and smirked at the Slytherin girl. She was at least five inches taller than Rosie, and the two were the same age. This made it a bit difficult for Rosie to keep fighting. "I'd appreciate if you didn't call my father names, Fox."

Rosie rolled her eyes. My God was this girl moody. "NOW what's wrong?" she asked, approaching her. The girl looked like she was going to cry, and Rosie felt that she needed to comfort her, even if the girl was a Slytherin.
Not knowing what else to do, Rosie walked over and sat beside her, patting her back awkwardly and wondering why the girl was crying. She'd seemed so strong not two seconds ago. Had something Rosie said broke her? All of a sudden, the Gryffindor girl was nervous. She hated hurting people and the only reason she hurled insults at all was because she thought the Slytherins could take it. But, apparently not this one.
"Shhh, it's alright," Rosie answered, suddenly pulling out the maternal card that she so carefully kept at the ready at all times. She wiped the girl's tears and let her lean her head against the Gryffindor's shoulder.
Rosie smiled. "It's fine. I've gotta thick skin. You've gotta have one of those if you're a Gryffindor in this day-in-age. Even the teachers seem to hate us now," Rosie said, contemplating it for a moment before continuing, "Sorry I called you a bitch. I sorta got carried away."
