"Ted?" she said incredulously, "He's the least of my problems right now. I've got N.E.W.T.s coming up and immense amounts of homework, as well as my duties in the New Order. Unless I try extra hard, I haven't really got time to crush on someone."
Rosie laughed. "Well, if I were me, I'd leave it all alone and not screw up a perfectly good friendship," Rosie answered, a tired smile on her face. She'd been so tired in the last few weeks. Trying to keep up her image while struggling over whether or not to go after Ted. Destinee's words about him liking her back confused her. Did he really? And how did a Slytherin know about it? She shook her head, rubbing her eyes and sighing. "But, that's just what I'd do."
"I suppose, then, that you've never been in love with your best friend before," she asked, putting her chin in the palm of her hand and resting her elbow on her knee. "One unplanned move can screw up everything. That's just how it is." She sighed, shaking her head a little. Oh, the complications of life.

"Ted and me've never fallen out before," Rosie told her new-found confident. "If I screw something up, and we aren't friends anymore, I'll never forgive myself. I'll just wait until he makes a move. And if he never does, then I guess it wasn't meant to be."
Rosie laughed. "You're not worried that your Death Eater friends will find out that you just hugged a Gryffindor?" she asked good-naturedly. She was confused as hell about this Destinee character. How hot-cold could someone be?
Rosie laughed again. "'Course not. Just means that you're not as bad as you think," she answered, choosing her words carefully. "You're still a Death Eater. And I'm still a member of the New Order. Some things never change."

Corliss had just happened to walk through a dense pack of trees on the edge of the forest as Destinee hugged the Weasley. She kept back watching and listening. Her evil smile was painted on her lips. Slowly, she drew her wand from the strap she wore under her leggings. She had jinxed it to look like nothing was there. Quietly, Corliss suck out into the clear, open air. Her lips pursed as she listened to Rosie talk. "Finding new friends, are you DJ?"she asked in a mocking tone. Her eyes turned devilish and dark. "I suggest that you get out of here Weasley. I don't want you to get hurt."she said, laughing at the sarcasm and sharpness in her voice. Her eyes darted to Destinee. "And exactly what do you think you were doing hugging a Weasley and more importantly a NO member?" she asked outraged. She lifted her wand toward Rosie. She smiled darkly as she mumbled the cures. " Crucio!" she whispered. The sparks jetted out of her wand and hit Rosie square in the chest. She only let the girl thrash for a minuet or two. Corliss dropped her wand, reliving the curse. "Now then, Miss Weasley, I say go back and tell no one of what happened tonight! she said in a commanding voice, pointing her wand from the castle to Rosie and back.
She cried out in pain as she thrashed on the ground, her vision blurring for a fraction of a moment before she was restored to her regular self. Panting on the ground, she glared up at Corliss before jumping to her feet and pulling her wand out of her back pocket (she always kept it there, even if her uncle always warned her that she might jinx of her butt). She didn't care that it was two against one. She didn't give a shit that she was going to lose, no matter what she did, or how bravely she fought. With a snarl, she turned her wand on Corliss, shouting, "Sectusempra!" She watched as deep cuts laced themselves across the pretty girl's face, disfiguring her beyond recognition. They were cursed cuts, and she doubted the girl could curse them off, even if she'd been as smart as Kianthra Lestrange or any of her other little friends. Right now, Rosie was so mad that she didn't even give a crap what their names were anymore. How dare that girl barge in on her in the Forest and tell her to leave!

Corliss dropped her wand and her hands flew to her face. "The girl will be re payed for this."she hissed through the tears running down her bloody face. "Get Scorpius. Now! He will know what to do." she cried. Her pale hand rested on her cheeks, which resulted in stabs, from unseen knives, to pound her not so pretty face. 'She will get it once Scorpius sees what she has done. Mark my words, if he dose nothing, I will.' she thought. The hand Corliss pulled from her torn face was coated in a think layer of blood. Not to mention little chucks of her own flesh. No, it wasn't going to kill her, she hoped, but she could handle it. Slowly, the Malfoy grabbed her wand with out being seen. She aimed it at Rosie's chest. " Crucio!" she yelled with all her might. She stood up, watching the girl thrash brought a smile, though you couldn't tell it, to her broken face.
Rosie gave a questioning look to Destinee. What? Did the girl expect her to simply stand there and take it? Was she honestly that gullible? A simple chat in the woods couldn't heal the age-old hatred between good and evil. If the Slytherin girl thought it could then she was crazier than Rosie had previously thought.
However, she couln't dwell on that for long, for in the next moment, a jet of red light hit her hard in the chest, making her gasp and fall to the ground, writhing and twisting in utter pain. She couldn't think or speak, or even hardly see, except for the bloody face of her attacker, twisted into a look of pure joy and malice. Rosie tried to feel some hatred back at her, but all she felt was the sharp covering of pain interlacing with all of her thoughts.

Called Scorpius, slightly exasperated. Class had just ended a few moments ago, and it was nearly time for the next meal. Kianthra had said that his sister hadn't been with her in her class, and when she couldn't find her anywhere, asked Scorpius if he might know where she was.
"'Course I dunno where she is," he retorted, "I'm not her bloody keeper..." but gathered his bags and went in search of her. When someone as batty as his sister went missing, one had to look in places most off limits: The Forest. Of course. Siiigh.
How Scorpius hated that bloody place. It was just plain creepy, even for Slytherin standards. But that'd be the first place Corliss would be, so in he would go.
After a little ways in (and much swearing), Scorpius saw faint bursts of red light. He thought nothing of it as he rolled his eyes, smiling some. Corliss, probably working on a deer or something small... He arrived through the thicket to see not only Corliss's back, but Destinee and urgh, the Weasley girl. He smirked.
"So, now I know why I saw red light." Scorpius said to his sister, not taking his eyes off of Rosie. He then looked to Corliss and added, "I thought you'd be working on something a bit bigger than--"
The Slytherin stopped his sentence, for Corliss had turned around. Blood. All he could see of her pretty face was blood. He went white as he rushed over to her, wand in hand. "Tergeo!" The blood was siphoned, but more came splurting out. Scorpius was never one to be scared, but this was his little sister. If she wasn't restored...Enraged, he whipped around to see the Weasel. His eyes were on fire, a look of complete contempt distorted on his face.
"You little BITCH!" Scorpius raised his wand and shouted "Mobilicorpus!" Rosie was lifted about five or so inches off the ground, and he thrust the 'puppet' against a tree, yelling with all his might.
"And you! Why aren't you almost killing her right now! Look at what she has done to your fellow DE member, your fellow Slytherin!"
Scorpius cried in raged tones to Destinee, who'd clearly done nothing to help.

Seeing that Rosie was in pain lifted Corliss's spirits even more. She felt the dagger like tears running down her screwed up face. "This is the last..." she tried to say before she saw Scorpius and felt the spell hit her in the face. The blood fell quickly now. She was dying, she knew it. Corliss fell to her knees in pain. She spell dropped as her wand fell from her blood covered hand. "Scorpius..." she tried to say but she was to weak. Her rage towards Rosie failed as she felt close to passing out. 'No. I will stay awake.'she thought as her vision blured due to the loss of blood and the blood covering her eyes. She faintly saw Rosie hit a tree before she closed her heavy lids. She arms and legs felt like they had been broken in several places. As she felt the grip of sleep close by she thrust her eyes open. "Scorpius... Help me..... If it goes wrong... I love you.... Tell Miles... How I feel... About him..."she said taking several gasps of breath before her eyes closed. Corliss's haed turned sideways as she fainted from the blood loss. The last thing she felt had been pity and love. Pity for the damn Weasley girl and love for her brother. She couldn't die. Not with the ball so close.
As Scorpius entered, Rosie knew she was doomed. After all, it was now three against one, and even if one was majorly injured and the other rather meek in the face of danger, there was one that was a force to be reckoned with. Scorpius Malfoy. Even if she hadn't been in terrible pain, Rosie knew she would never be able to get away unscathed. How stupid she had been to come into the forest today.
As she was thrust against the tree, she heard more than felt a resounding snap. Looking down, she saw that her leg was bent at a strange angle and she could just see the sharp end of something milky white, which she suspected was her bone. In the next moment, unbearable pain engulfed her leg. She was convulsing on the ground, and grabbing at her appendage, which was bleeding unmeasurable amounts. She looked up to see Corliss collapsed on the floor with Scorpius next to her. To the side stood Destinee, looking somewhat like a lost puppy and she tried to decide what to do. She tried desperately to stay awake, but the loss of blood was making her heart beat faster, trying to pump what blood wasn't there, and making her twitch like a mad man. Her vision was blurring, even though she'd been blinking furiously for the past few moments. Every second felt like an hour. If only she could rid herself of this terrible pain.

Corliss fell, and Scorpius was beside himself. He felt hot tears fall down his cheeks as he dropped to his sister's side. It was hard for him to hear her, she was so quiet, barely an audiable whisper. Rosie was writhing under the tree; he had heard her bones crack, and she was bleeding. Scorpius turned back to Corliss, tears still streaming. She closed her eyes, and the Slytherin thought she was dead.
"No, NO!" He cried, burying his face in his one hand, the other covered in blood from grabbing Corliss's bloodied one. He reached for his wand which had dropped when his sister fell.
"P-periculum!" From his wand shot a red light, and once it made its way past the height of the tall trees, exploded like fireworks. Hopefully one of the others would come, unless they didn't see it...Libertee. The swine was still standing there! Scorpius jumped up and grabbed the girl by her hair.
"You stupid girl! Go get Miles, get Charlotte, get ANYONE!" He pushed her as he let go. Scorpius then turned to Rosie, still upon the ground, and pointed his wand at her.
"Tarantallegra!" Instantly, her legs began moving; it would be most painful with a broken leg to jerk it, no? He circled her, sad tears turned to ice and heat at the same time; he was burning with hate!
